Here we go. Should be getting into conference play now with some newly adjusted sliders that should even the playing field a bit.
Have fun and remember to post here when you are ready and tell us about your game.

Think we're onto something here guys.
My game played awesome except for a couple things I'll explain later but I had to put together a 98 yard, 18 play TD drive to tie it up and I left less than a minute on the clock. By the way that 98 yard drive was setup by a punt that died on the 2, that's rare. It's the 75 I set the punt accuracy to :)
My offense felt and looked very good and realistic stat wise. But I think we still have the CPU offense a little overpowered. Bowling Green's 70 ovr QB only missed 7 passes and he only has 1 WR over 70 ovr. They did break one long run on me but other than that the running game seemed good as well.
So maybe next week we back down the CPU QB a little but.
I'll check all the stats of this weeks games and see how things look and adjust accordingly.
This game was a lot closer that it should have been I think but we'll keep chipping away until we find the best sliders we can.

Nice catch on the punting! I'm in two dynasties, and plenty of practice games and have yet to see a punt bounce anywhere but forward. We might want to keep that. I'll let you know what's up with my game tomorrow. I have liked heisman though, so far. Much better than my AA dynasty I'm in with coach sliders. The cpu is tough, and I mean real tough. I have a better win pct. over there, but I think that is because my team is CMU instead of EMU. We are adjusting our sliders though, because the sliders are set up to make the cpu better(b/c its AA), but their shotty HB's with low 70s are bowling over multiple defensive plaers in their 80s.

I got almost to halftime last night against NIU, trailing them by a score of 7-10 when my game froze. Being late, I decided to wait until tonight to replay. Sucks though, that their stud HB will be back after getting injured for the game in the first quarter. :-(

Coach Kernzy

NIU is tough for sure, they are the top dog in the MAC along with Temple probably.
GL man, I think you better hope for a moral victory :)

EMU couldn't hold on to their lead in the second half, losing 16-13. My guys were pretty winded throughout the game because of Toledo's no-huddle. My QB through 3 picks and that hurt tremendously. It was an all out defensive affair. Not a lot of good runs or passes. The few decent plays were done by Toledo in that 4th quarter.

Way to hang tough with the Rockets man. You are playing some really tough close games and when you get some more talent there if you stick around you'll be blowing through the MAC man.

Still a half of a season to go too. I feel I may need to go 4-2 the rest of the way just to keep my job so we will see. The goal is 3 wins though. The recruiting has been rough, but I think I should have a breakthrough in the next week or two. I did get a 3-star to sign, but he really wasn't that good of a receiver. Maybe he will be better at a different position. I've really spent a lot of time trying to get actual good talent, and it's been some tough fishing. I do have a 4-star OL guy who is really interested, second on the his favorites. I think I might be able to get him. The main focus has been LB's for my 3-4 though.

I have two or three 3 star MLB's highly interested in me, but I think only one of them is really any good.

Hopefully, everyone can get done by tomorrow evening so I can get another week done before I go on a vacation. I leave at 830 am ET on Thursday and won't get back until Monday afternoon. I would really like to play CMU because I feel I may have a chance in that one, just like the Toledo game. That would also put the WMU vs. EMU game on Monday or Tuesday. That is a heads up for you. I can autopilot, but that would be dumb. I'd really like to play you so I can get used to the user vs. user games.

Be sure to post here http://www.thegamingtailgate.com/forums/showthread.php?2609-User-vs-User-Scheduling to schedule user v user games. Post when you're available coming up so you guys can get it scheduled and I'd also PM him here and send him an XBL message as well to cover all your bases.

Archedemius

Yeah, PM him every way possible. I didn't realize there was any user v user's this week. Hopefully you guys can get done before Thursday.

Just got done with probably the most entertaining game I've played in a while. NIU scored on the first play from scrimmage when my CB fell down in coverage. My Flashes answered with a 10 yard TD scamper by HB Jacquise Terry a short while later. The celebration would be short lived, as the Huskies would roll off 14 unanswred points to go up 21-7 in the 2nd quarter. After rallying the troops to tie the score up late in the first half, our defense let NIU get in to FG range and went to halftime trailing 21-24.

Both coaches fired up their teams defenses in the locker room, as no offensive TDs would be scored the remainder of the game. The turning point of the game came on a controversial play with :08 left in the 3rd quarter, when JR CB Sidney Saulter picked up a fumble after a jarring hit on a Huskey receiver. NIU coaches challenged the call, but the replay proved inconclusive and the score was upheld. A late FG put things out of reach and the Golden Flashes improve to 4-2 after a big conference win.

Ready to advance.

Great game Austin!!! I had no answer for your running game. My receivers just could not capitalize. Great job man!

I got real tired towardsd the end as it is close to 1am.

AustinWolv

Yeah, good game, natcret. It was some good fun. I too got really tired at the end and actually dropped the controller when I nodded off .....that was that delay of game penalty when I was trying to run down the clock. Closed my eyes a couple times at the end there, LOL!

My RB was going off. He went for just over 200 yards, that was crazy.

I saw the same thing happen to you -> I don't like when you try to audible the DL that the guy will jump offsides if you have the cursor on one of the DL. That is why I switched to the DB, as I was able to audible the DL or LBs without that happening again. I think momentum on my home field kicked in, as my DBs started sticking to receivers bigtime once UNT got the lead. Your draws were killing me and that was smart as your WR had gotten that long TD running past my safety, so I had to protect my slow-ass safeties from there on out.

Hahaha I laughed at the delay of game excuse!

Looks like just one game left, EatEmUp and his Utah St Aggies against Wyoming so as soon as he's done we'll advance.

Coach Kernzy

Passing %s this week look like this.
User = 48.43%
CPU = 53.76%
So we'll keep the sliders where they are for now. Looks like my game was the only one where the QB was deadly accurate, maybe my secondary just sucks :)

The rushing #s look much improved this week for the users and that is promising so again I think we're good on sliders for another week.

Please if anyone has any suggestions or ideas though let us all know so we can discuss it and make changes if need be.

Did you adjust the punting? It felt like you did, the ball didn't zoom through the endzone like it has in the past. There wasn't any good punts, but the ball didn't move as much. Has anyone paid attention to field goals? Longest anyone has seen made? Longest I've seen I think, was 39 by both me and the cpu.

Everything else seems good. I got worried for a second in my game, because at the beginning I trampled down the field twice. TD and a FG. The game locked up after that with a lot of defense.

Coach, let's schedule our game for either Monday late evening or Tuesday. Sound good to you?

Coach Kernzy
08-10-2011, 12:00 PM
Punting accuracy for both us and CPU is set to 75 which should give us some better results. In my game the CPU stopped one at the 2 and I've seen other ones in my offline dynasty be good coffin corner kicks and such so that certainly helps.

FGs I haven't seen anything out of the ordinary except that the CPU seems to want to always try really long FGs which they never make. Not sure if I can do anything about that with sliders or not.

I'm good with early next week, probably around 8 Central is best for me.

Archedemius
08-10-2011, 12:18 PM
I'll give you a more exact time by then. Just shoot for 8CT or later on either mon or tue.

I saw the same thing happen to you -> I don't like when you try to audible the DL that the guy will jump offsides if you have the cursor on one of the DL.

Yup I can't stand it either. I wish EA would fix that or make it to where no player is selected until you press a button. I have seen it happen too many times and it really kills momentum.

Coach Kernzy
08-10-2011, 06:52 PM
Something I always do to combat this guys is move to one of my LBs so that issue doesn't happen, I've had it happen to me as well and it always seem to happen when you least need it to so I just eliminate that possibility now.

Archedemius
08-10-2011, 06:58 PM
Hmmmm never happens to me, but I think I usually have the cursor on the LB to begin with. What audibles? This brings up a good point... I've never had an offsides called in a game for me or the cpu.

Coach Kernzy
08-10-2011, 07:19 PM
Penalties are tough, some just don't ever happen.
Offsides I've only seen happen if you try to draw them off with a hard count.
I'd rather have less penalties than normal rather than to many but we'll keep adjusting to try to find a nice balance.

Archedemius
08-10-2011, 07:23 PM
I'm not complaining. Figured I'd point it out though.

They need a discipline rating installed. That would be cool, then you would have to recruit smart guys.

Yeah, that's why I just moved the highlight cursor to a safety. Was able to audible defenders how I wanted from then on without the right stick causing the DL to jump across or whatever it is they do.
