View Full Version : Is "Advance Week Anywhere" on OD website working? Yes!

So I hit Advance To Next Week button

and I get this

So I hit Advance Week button and then get this

I hit OK but then see no progress as it states next to the Advance Week button.

Any insight by the powers that be?

I assume you just have to wait for the email notification saying that the week has been advanced.

It says you're in a queue. My guess is that the advance in not instantaneous and they are queuing the requests to balance the load on their servers.

If anyone successfully advances via the web let us know here?
I see it says you're in a queue but it also says you can see progress but I sure don't see that. I'll just check back on it later to see if anything looks different.

Well I logged out and back in and now the button is gone altogether

It's not the fact that EA put out a feature that doesn't work. Think about it. How many people have OD's hung up now? How many people have been wanting to try this? How many people read that blog and ran out to try it instaneously? Guys that are doing 1-man dynasties online are probably ready to push it through, so take that # of people in account that tried to do it. Sometimes you have to step back and think about things before you post.

JB, I understand the logistics completely. I'm an IT professional.

They had to know that everyone would try it so you would think they would have their servers and everything in place to handle the traffic or whatever issues they may face.

I'm frustrated with this whole OD ordeal. I've never been an EA basher before and I try to be understanding but we are talking about a billion dollar corporation and they should have known and been ready.

No I understand the budgets for those games are not the same.

Again I'm just sharing the experience and the issues here so that you and TGT can help them help us all.

I apologize if I came off harsh, I like many others are just frustrated.

If they did pull it (which we don't know), at least they did so before any ODs were affected by potential issues.

I've dropped a line to see if we can get word on status.

Just FYI, the Advance from Web appears to have returned. I haven't tested it since my OD isn't ready to advance.

Ditto. The feature works fine now. It does place you in a queue, but it doesn't take long.

Just used this for my OD and it like everyone else it worked. However, one very small annoying thing is that it doesn't create a "Week X" news story on the OD. That is what I've used in the past to copy & paste when creating a new thread for the new week in my OD. Not that big of a deal as I can just do the same with the email sent to me, however it's a different format and I don't like change. :P That and it is handy to be able to see what week the OD is in.

Any word if this works in the offseason? We are stuck in :sf: dynasty and was wondering if we can use this as a work around. He's not seeing the option so that makes me think it's not available in offseason
