Looks like we'll be advancing to week 2 sometime tonight around 10-10:30 Central I'd imagine after AustinWolv and Smooth Pancakes play their user vs user game.

Some interesting results in week 1 and we'll stick with default All-American for 1 more week but I still believe we'll need to make some changes to sliders to make the results a bit more realistic across the board.

This week the schedule looks like this

E Mich gets another FCS team at home
W Mich also gets an FCS team at home
Kent St gets UL Lafayette at home
Memphis @ Ark St
Tulane at home against Tulsa
Army has SDSU at home
New Mexico travels to Arkansas
Wash St gets UNLV at home
N Tex hosts Houston
FAU travels to Mich St
FIU travels to Louisville
Utah St has an FCS team at home

I vote if FAU beats Michigan State we change the difficulty and sliders. GO GREEN! GO WHITE! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eT_ZuY63qKw

Coach,

As a reminder, I will be gone again Thursday (July 28) until Sunday (July 31). I will get my week 2 game and recruiting in when you start week 2.

I have a bye for week 3 so I would assume I would set as autopilot for recruiting if week 3 starts while gone?

I highly doubt I'm going to beat SDSU so don't expect much from Army this week. Our defense blows dick, but we can sometimes get lucky with forcing turnovers.

natcret, I think you might be able to still do your recruiting during that week online at EA. Not sure though. I assume you can recruit, make your calls and set to autopilot then? Or sim game online?

They have a free trial for SuperSim on the dynasty website too. Could be able to use your phone or internet connection anywhere to play your game sim style.

I would think we'll probably hit week 3 by Wednesday. Unless I overlooked something, we all have games vs. CPU. We've all been very active and would have been in week 2 already if myself and Austin had been able to hook up last night (and hadn't missed each other by 2 minutes).

Now that I just finished my offline dynasty game against Akron, I'm going to jump into the OD right now and finish up my recruiting, so as soon as myself and Austin are done with our game tonight, Coach can advance it first chance he gets. Since I'll probably still be online, I plan on just recruiting and playing my game at Louisville tonight as well, get everything knocked out at once.

With as quickly as everyone got their games played for Week 1, I would imagine by Wednesday evening, everyone would be done and have their games played and recruiting set. So you should most likely still have time to get your recruiting for week 3 done yourself rather than have to leave it up to the CPU.

Austin, I'm still signed in on Xbox Live, and am keeping an eye on my friend's list, but when you're available, send me a PM on here to be safe. I've currently got my tv turned onto Military Channel to watch "Killing Bin Laden".

We've all heard the saying "It was over before it started", and that described week #2's game against the Ragin' Cajuns of ULL. Move along folks, nothing to see here.

J. Terry steals the show, carrying 20+ times for 170+yds including a 67 yard scamper on a well blocked quick toss. If it could go wrong for ULL, it did. A missed tackle on a short route to pick up a first down resulted in a 72 yard TD pass by Spencer Keith, who again threw the ball less than 10 times. He could be seen arguing with the coaching staff to open up the playbook, but who can blame the staff for running the clock out?

Next up for Kent St. And Coach Davis is his Alma mater, the Wildcats of KSU.

Sorry man, just saw this. LOL.

Great game, it was a lot of fun. Probably the most fun I've had online in an user vs. user game. Just being able to playcall and see how things turns out is way less stressful and infuriating them when I'm actually playing, especially against many so-called 'sim' players out there who will 'game' the game or exploit something in order to win.

That's great to hear guys. Gnarly and I have played several games online and they have almost all been great games and lots of fun for sure. When we nail down the sliders this is really going to get AWESOME.

Yeah, that was a ton of fun. Last night was honestly my first ever user vs. user game since probably NCAA 06, just because of the odds of running into idiots and cheesers online, and man, I could not have had more fun. It definitely has that chess match feel the entire game, trying to pick my offense or defense each play, hoping that it'll be good enough to avoid giving up a big play. Also, it was an entirely new experience for me as it was my first time ever on 12 playing a game with the FIU defense. I'm the FIU OC in my offline dynasty, so I had never played a single down of defense with FIU until last night.

I did feel bad last night about that one pass my QB got off. Only the CPU could get off as literally impossible of a pass as that play. If I was playing against the CPU, that was a 100% automatic sack or incomplete pass that would only go one or two yards before hitting the ground. Not only was my QB halfway through being sacked, but then for that pass to be an accurate bullet all the way down to my receiver standing at your 9 yard line. I had to pause the game after that play and send a message about that. :D At the time, I really hated scoring my touchdown a couple plays later, as I was scoring thanks to an extremely cheap play by the CPU.

But, you did enough on offense and called the right play twice to burn my secondary for those giant long TD passes, so in the end, it worked out. If I had won, I would have had an issue, personally for me, winning thanks to such a cheap play like that pass that set up my touchdown run. So thankfully I didn't have to worry about it in the end. :D

Had an amazing game last night after the game with Smooth.

Houston and Case Keenum were lighting my team up in the air. Couldn't get them off the field at times, but was able to hold in the redzone and the only TDs they had were two picks returned for TDs. We were tied late and my defense had started to come around and get them off the field, but they scored with less than a minute left. I had 38 seconds to go 80 yards. Went shotgun, my QB completed the first pass for a decent gain, and we were in hurry-up. Get to the line, playcall gets in, and Houston gambled with what looked like a Cover1. The receiver on the left side beat the CB down the sideline and hauled in a long TD pass for the gamewinner, as there wasn't enough time on the clock for Keenum to move his team down the field.
The game took the #2 ranking on my Classics list. LOL.

I had to pause the game after that play and send a message about that.
No worries, totally understand especially since it was the CPU doing that. I actually didn't even get frustrated by it, which is funny because I know if past versions I've gotten really annoyed in regular user vs. user games when stuff like that happens, like the infamous late pitch on option that people love to use.

Fyi, my g/f turned my receiver off to the tv while I had my game paused this morning. Have to do it over this afternoon. I was winning against FCS 48 or so to 24. Playing now, and they are playing a lot tougher this time around. I will test running some more, but I feel maybe that user vs. cpu running is over powered. I shouldn't be working on 2xx yards for both my first string hb and my second. It is against FCS, but I'd like to hear others opinions against stiffer opponents.

That is about to change because I'm pretty sure we're going to Heisman next week, wanted to do it for this week but enough guys wanted to give it one more week so we are.
But in the games I've been playing with Heisman have been some of the best most realistic and fun games I've played even though I'm losing, as I should.

Hey guys. Sorry for the late notice, but I'm going to be away from my machine for the next few days (hope to be back in pocket Friday evening). I'm a bit ignorant to the norms and whatnot regarding online dynasties, but I've set mine to autopilot (I believe). Hope I can still recruit from the web but, if not, no worries. Best of luck to everyone over the next couple of days. Thanks!

Coach Kernzy

Can someone answer that for him, I'm not sure if he can recruit online when set to autopilot or not?

He may have to recruit and then turn it on, I really have no idea so I'm hoping someone here can answer this.

SmoothPancakes

You should be all good. Even if it won't let you recruit with Auto Pilot turned on, you can turn Auto Pilot on and off from the website itself.

Archedemius
07-26-2011, 01:11 PM
I would recruit and then set it to autopilot. That way you can put your time into the guys you really want to. You can set it on the website. Plus they have this new thing I think you can download where you can play your game over the internet via pc and maybe phone. You would call the plays and it would auto sim each one.

Finished my week 2. Beat FCS 41-17. 1st and 2nd string hb's had over a hundred rushing. My team played sloppy with lots of penalties and a few turnovers. My second string QB probably played better than the first. No turnovers at least.

Yes we are going to default Heisman for week 3.

I would like everyone to pay close attention to gameplay this week and let me know what you notice and report back in the week 3 thread I will start soon.

Personally, I have found that Heisman plays more realistic, shows more different animations and just generally looks and feels better.

LOL, nice
My recruiting on a side note really sucks, I don't think I'm very good at it or don't have the right strategy because I've only got like 3-4 guys that have me in their top 3, most others on my board are much lower or no interest at all.

SmoothPancakes
07-27-2011, 03:28 PM
Yeah, we definitely need Heisman. Just barely into my game against Louisville, my defense just slaughtered them on their opening drive, then a punt return by my guy gave my offense the ball, 1st and 10, on the Louisville 36 yard line. :fp:

Coach Kernzy
07-27-2011, 03:29 PM
Well it's coming, week 3 is Heisman and I can't wait.

SmoothPancakes
07-27-2011, 03:35 PM
Well, we ended up throwing an interception on that drive. Louisville got about 6 plays into their drive before the defense caused a fumble which one of my players picked up and took 29 yards to the house. So we never found the end zone on offense, but my defense ended up doing so.

SmoothPancakes
07-27-2011, 04:14 PM
We need to look at penalties. Louisville just got called for their 3rd facemask penalty, and there's still 3:41 left to play in the 2nd quarter.

Coach Kernzy
07-27-2011, 04:17 PM
Yeah it seems facemasks might be set a little high so I'll turn those down some for week 3.

Archedemius

Coach, I wouldn't turn down your strategy yet. I only have a couple of guys in my top 3. I'm focusing on a few 3's that don't have me on their list, but are great players who haven't narrowed their list.

Yeah, I have the old style black elite too. This is the 4th freeze I've experienced since release day. Once on release day in my Play Now CM Army-Navy game that I was posting about in here, again later that week, a third time two days ago, and now this time.

Even though I was winning 23-6 at the time it froze, I think I'm just going to let you simulate it when you advance the week. I'm not sure if I want to go through trying to replay the entire game again.

Smooth, that sucks. This is the first year I've had some freezes with NCAA. Luckily they have only been on menu screens, so I haven't lost data or gameplay time. I've played a bunch of other games in the past couple months and none have froze, so I don't think it is my machine. It is a black Elite from spring 2010, I think.

Let me give it some thought for a few minutes. After having just spent an hour playing the game, only to have everything completely lost and all that time wasted due to the stupid game freezing, at the moment, I really don't want to sit through all of that once again. Though, as I was winning, thanks to the AA difficulty obviously not being great for User vs. CPU coach mode games, I'd hate to see what looked like a sure win turn into an automatic loss thanks to the sim engine.

That's what I've decided to do, even though I really don't like the though of having to replay the entire first half all over again. What I'm going to do is randomly and intermittently supersim an offensive series here and a defensive series there, just to speed things up and get through the game faster this time around.

SmoothPancakes
07-27-2011, 05:40 PM
Ok, now this game is just screwing me. :fp: Three times I've seen clear as day facemask penalties committed by the defense, and there is never a single flag thrown on the play until that facemask by the defense occurs. Logically, one would think that means the refs threw a flag for the facemask. Nope. Every damn time, those flags have ended up being on me for holding. :fp: I have not been flagged for holding (or flagged at all for that matter) a single time this game, except for when the defense commits facemasking on a tackle and the refs throw a flag, presumably for the facemasking.

Finally managed to get the game done. FIU holds on (barely) to upset Louisville 27-24. Louisville scored to pull within 3 with 1:01 left to play in the game, and then of course managed to recover the onside kick. We managed to hang tough, got the ball back, promptly gave it back thanks to Louisville's 3 time outs, and then had to hang tough a second time, as Louisville tried to throw extremely deep 4 straight plays in a row.

SmoothPancakes

I think for the most part, we're all done. JMiles doesn't show up as ready, but he did play his game, so he must not be done recruiting or just had time left over this week. And Guerrilla 1917 is set to auto pilot.
