View Full Version : How did you play your wk 1 game? Coach mode or auto pass?

I'm curious to know how each of us played our games to see if gameplay or the results are affected by either way.

I played regular style with auto pass on and sim/watched all kicking plays.

Same as Kernzy. Regular mode, sim/watch kick plays.

Also, those of you that did play actual coach mode did you make many pre-snap adjustments? I find it very difficult to do so from that camera angle in coach mode. You can't tell very well which side the defense is strong on for instance when you want to flip a play or call an audible. I really have trouble with that angle.

I did a few pre-snap adjustments...

Man of few words aren't you JB :)

Care to elaborate any?

Nothing out of the ordinary, man align and press sometimes. Did a couple of hot routes.

Do you find those changes tougher to make in coach mode because the view is different or no?

Not really because I know what buttons I need to hit.

Right, it's not a button issue but rather a view or an angle issue for me.
For instance, let's say I come up to the line and see there are 4 guys in the box to the right of the C and only 3 to the left. I've got an off-tackle right called and I want to flip the play to the left to take advantage of the #s on the other side.
For me that situation is very tough to see from that coach mode angle but from the normal angle it's very clear.
See what I'm saying?

I've also noticed that from that coach mode angle you have to take into account which way you are moving down the field because the adjustments you make can go the opposite way based on the direction your team is facing. Like moving your DL left can cause you to move them right...again based on the direction they are facing.

It's definitely more difficult to make defensive adjustments, but offensive adjustments aren't bad.

Also, I used the normal Coach Mode view and such.

I used coach mode. Made plenty of audibles and hot routes on offense. I didn't do any audibles on defense. I'm still getting used to the view. Doing left and right LB/DL shifts in the direction I want was still a problem. I have to be more aware of the view and always remember that on defense, I have to picture the view of normal defense where I am on the top of the screen. Shifting my runs I really just tried to pay attention to what the opponents LB's were doing and change the route accordingly. I worked well obviously with the 250 yards rushing I got from my back-up HB.

On a side note, screen plays and draws work so much better this time around! Use those properly and you can really do some damage.

Coach Mode, called audibles on both sides of the ball and made some pre-snap adjustments. Had no issue with the view.

Coach mode with every adjustment known to man-kind. Yet nothing worked.

Played coach mode in my week2 game (week1 was an user vs user game). Took a minute to get used to audibling for directional stuff, but no worries. I enjoyed using coach mode.
