It's back (http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/11/05/another-saw-movie-in-the-works?utm_campaign=ign+main+twitter&utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=social)!

Lionsgate is now reportedly developing an eighth Saw film, based on the torture-horror series created by James Wan and Leigh Whannell. This will be the first Saw to come out since 2010's Saw 3D.

The Saw films used to dominate the Halloween movie market, with a new installment coming out almost every year. But after Saw 3D, it was Paramount's Paranormal Activity series that took over the month of October (until this year, of course).

But according to Bloody Disgusting, Lionsgate is hoping to change that by putting a new spin on the Saw franchise. The studio is in no rush to meet an October release, however, and it sounds like they're keen on waiting for a suitable take. There was chatter about a remake at one point, but insiders say they'd rather just continue the series with Saw 8.

I, personally, like to see movies in 3-D if I can. I know a lot of people dislike it for various reasons but it's visually more appealing in 3-D.

Ugh, you're the reason 3D movies haven't died in a fire yet. :fp:

Needless to say, don't see a movie in 3D unless it was actually shot in 3D (ala Avatar, How to Train A Dragon, Gravity, etc).

Yeah, I am the reason and I hope it doesn't go away. As long as people have the option to watch it in 2D, there's no reason to eliminate 3D. I even play my 3DS in 3D. Like I said, it's visually more appealing as I like the depth it adds. Gravity in IMAX 3D was BEAUTIFUL.

How is a movie more enjoyable in 3D I never got it? You gotta pay 9 bucks already for a movie then like 4 bucks for the glasses then add on another 7 bucks for soda and popcorn. It's too bad we just can't buy our own 3D glasses and use them at the theaters even if we have to buy them at a theater so they don't get jealous .

I would like to see a new 3D film tho the last one i saw in 3d was the remake of The Lion King was really disappointed in that film being 3d it was cool but not great.

scratch that I did go see Cirque Du Soleil in 3D with the lady. That was actually really good.

The movie isn't more enjoyable. The movie is what it is. It's more visually appealing. It's like a sexy chick with D cups and another chick with DDs. They're both hot but the DDs may be a bit more visually appealing.

Meh. It's another shitty superhero that has no real interesting qualities because she's a female Superman, aka, boring as fuck because your "invincible". There's a reason why The Dark Knight and The Avengers are two of the biggest superhero movies ever. The characters in them are fallible. They make mistakes and can be hurt. Superman and Wonder Woman can't be. Seriously, movie companies just need to STOP with Superman and his related characters. They're fuckin' terrible. Just stop.

Batman vs. Superman pushed back 10 months to May 2016.

The Batman vs. Superman movie has been in pre-production but the trade reports that shooting has been delayed to the second quarter of the year. Though the studio’s official line is that the shift will “allow the filmmakers time to realize fully their vision, given the complex visual nature of the story.”

There were also rumors earlier today that star Ben Affleck, who’s set to star as Batman, had sustained a leg injury serious enough to delay the shoot by six weeks or more. However, the statement from Warner Bros. neither confirms nor denies this story.

Some think the delay may be so the script can be improved.

Warner Bros. is bringing Argo writer Chris Terrio into the Batman-Superman universe.

The Oscar-winning writer, who recently changed agencies from CAA to WME, has been brought in to write a draft of the Man of Steel follow-up, the untitled Batman-Superman movie.

David Goyer wrote the screenplay, which is based on characters created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster (Superman) and Bob Kane (Batman). But sources say Terrio has been brought in to get the script in shape before filming begins. Goyer has been tied up with a number of other DC Comics titles including Sandman.

Not sure, that was the first time I saw the trailer. And it was literally two minutes after I read these posts. Maybe the big guy is trying to tell me to go to church more

Rudy
01-31-2014, 04:03 AM
As someone that goes to church I'm not really interested in Noah. Most biblical scholars will tell you the first 11 chapters of Genesis are not to be read literally. The story of Noah has meaning but it's most likely a parable/read metaphorically. It's doubtful a world wide flood actually happened even though there is evidence of regional flooding around 3000 BC roughly. There are many parallels to the Babylonian tale of Gilgamesh which is considered to have been written first.

I'm sure the movie might be interesting but since I don't feel the event actually happened it loses its meaning for me.

Edit - I will just add I'm not looking for a debate on religion. Just giving my reason why I probably won't see this.

Transformers, meh, never cared about the cartoon as a kid, still don't care now, think it looks stupid as hell. TMNT, stopped caring when I stopped being a kid. Captain America, likewise never cared. Hollywood keeps remaking this shit over and over, probably the reason I've never stepped a single foot inside a movie theater since 2006, because Hollywood does nothing but repeatedly pump out shit and can therefore go fuck itself if they think I'm going to willingly allow myself to be raped by movie theater prices for their steaming piles of shit. Even the rare good movie that Hollywood makes, they can still go fuck off, I'll just wait for it to release on blu-ray and buy it and watch it then.

No interest in seeing it, but I think this is interesting. Anchorman 2 to re-release (for one week) with all-new jokes:

Hollywood hit comedy "Anchorman 2" is back. Just two months after its release, it's been stripped of jokes and given 753 new ones and is coming to a cinema near you.

In a possible first in cinema history, the comedy starring Will Ferrell as screwball newsman Ron Burgundy is getting a brand-new facelift and goes on general release for one week only.

"They're doing something that they have never done before," comedy star Ferrell told Jimmy Fallon on "The Tonight Show."

"For one week only, February 28, we have a brand new version with 753 jokes, brand new jokes," he added.
The original film stretched to four hours and producers first played with the idea of splitting it into two movies, but that didn't really work, Ferrell said.

"We just had a second editor working the whole time with alternative jokes so it's the same movie, it's 20 minutes longer.

"There is a musical number we had to cut from the original one, little treats like that, and it'll be out for a week," he said.

"Anchorman 2," the heavily-marketed sequel to the popular comedy about screwball Burgundy has grossed more than $125 million at the box office since its US release on December 18.

Whoops! Now that I look back at Gator's post, I misread the movie. I saw Jarhead but for some reason was thinking Full Metal Jacket in my mind. Disregard. :D

Although I suppose the criticism could still stand, just instead of ruining a classic, Hollywood is deciding to take some meh old movie and pump out Shit 2.0 like usual because none of those fucks have any fucking creativity anymore. Nothing but sequels and remakes. Exactly the reason why I haven't stepped foot inside a movie theater in over 10 years.

'Ghostbusters 3' will be a reboot focusing on female Ghostbusters. (http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/ghostbusters-3-targets-paul-feig-723028?utm_source=twitter)

After a long search, Sony is zeroing in on a director for Ghostbusters 3, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Paul Feig, director of Bridesmaids and The Heat, has emerged as the frontrunner, according to sources, and Feig has shown interest in taking on the project. Sources caution that no formal negotiations have taken place and a lot must be worked out before the casual discussions turn serious and Feig accepts the job. But he is the studio's first choice, these sources said. Sony declined to comment.

Sources say the film will be a reboot focusing on female Ghostbusters.

The long in-development sequel previously had Ivan Reitman, the director of 1984's original Ghostbusters and 1989's Ghostbusters II, attached.

On March 18, Reitman exited the project and a new search for a helmer began. Several websites indicated that 22 Jump Street directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller were in line for the job but those reports were inaccurate.

The original script was by Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg -- writers of NBC's The Office and the 2011 comedy Bad Teacher -- and has been revised following the death of original castmember Harold Ramis on Feb. 24.

The story introduces new Ghostbusters and hands the baton from at least a couple of the originals. Dan Aykroyd has said he will return but Bill Murray has not committed.

Still have mixed feelings on this. As a kid I always wanted them to continue the story. However, now as an adult I appreciate the original trilogy and really despise episodes 1 and 2. I'm not sold on needing to continue the story. What type of Star Wars will we get? I also have major concerns about JJ Abrams and his vision of things...

Won't lie... regardless of my concerns, I will see it when it hits the theatres.

I really enjoyed what Abrams did with Star Trek. The new movies didn't feel like Star Trek - same universe but a fresh blockbuster feel. I loved the original Star Wars movies as a kid and am looking forward to the new ones. The prequels were bad and episode 2 is unwatchable. The biggest problem is we knew the outcome so there wasn't this epic good vs evil thing going on and the characters weren't as interesting (plus stories and Hayden Christenson were garbage). The Hobbit suffers from a similar fate. It's not nearly as epic as LOTR since the whole trilogy revolves around dwarves trying to get back their gold from a dragon bully. It lacks any epic feel and you have to remind yourself why do I care?

I can agree on this. As a kid still in school when the LOTR movies were coming out in theaters, I hadn't yet read the books, so I had no clue how things would turn out and it was just this massive epic watching it play out 3+ hours at a time in the movie theater. Hell, Return of the King, I watched that movie THREE damn times in one day at the theater. I went with a bunch of friends on a Saturday afternoon to watch it, then after coming out and getting something to eat there at the food court, we all said fuck it and back in for the late afternoon showing. After that, I was already going to be meeting a different group of friends that evening to watch it, so I ended up seeing it three times in a single day and every single time watching it was still great and never dulled.

The Hobbit, while it seems like it would still be a good movie, I just haven't really bothered to try and watch it. Despite the first two parts being out on blu-ray for months/years already, I haven't bothered renting them or watching them online or anything. It just hasn't had that massive epic appeal like LOTR or the original Star Wars trilogy did. I never even saw Episodes 1-3 in theaters. I ended up watching Episode 1 and 2 on TV or somewhere after it had long left theaters, if anything just to have a clue what would be going on come episode 3, but I never watched them in theaters. Episode 3 is the only one I intentionally went out of my way to watch on DVD after it was released and I'll still watch whenever they randomly throw it on TV (which seems to be just about never these days).

Jared Leto, Will Smith, Tom Hardy, Margot Robbie, Jai Courtney and Cara Delevingne will make up the all-star cast of Warner Bros.’ supervillain tentpole “Suicide Squad,” (http://variety.com/2014/film/news/suicide-squad-cast-revealed-jared-leto-to-play-the-joker-will-smith-is-deadshot-1201368867/) it was announced on Tuesday.

Based on the DC comicbook, the story centers on the team of supervillains who are given a chance at redemption by the government. The catch: Their mission will probably kill them all.

The actors’ names had long been rumored for the high-profile movie, which opens Aug. 5, 2016, but their deals and characters hadn’t been finalized.

Here’s the official cast/character list:

Jared Leto – The Joker
Will Smith – Deadshot
Tom Hardy – Rick Flag
Margot Robbie – Harley Quinn
Jai Courtney – Boomerang
Cara Delevingne – Enchantress

“Suicide Squad,” directed by David Ayer and produced by Charles Roven and Richard Suckle, will begin shooting next April in Toronto.

According to insiders, Jesse Eisenberg is also in talks to play Lex Luthor in the film, a role he will first play in “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” though the status of his deal is unknown.

Warners has long viewed this project as the “Ocean’s Eleven” of comicbook movies and has been looking to load up the roster with top tier talent.

Warners still has the role of Amanda Waller, the character who oversees the team (similar to Nick Fury in the Marvel universe), to cast before the film goes into production. The studio’s shortlist of actresses being eyed for the role includes Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer and Oprah Winfrey, whom sources say would be WB’s first choice for the part.

Batman V Superman is a dumb title. Why are they fighting each other?

I've read some light speculation/rumors, but I won't post them here. Basically I think it is similar to the Avengers fighting each other at the start of that movie. Don't get along at first, end up working together to eliminate common foe/enemy.

I'm assuming that they have fought in the comics, but I don't read them so I don't know that for sure. There has always been that discussion by fans of who would win in a battle, so maybe they are playing on that as well.

I think that's part of it. Batman is afraid he'll go bad. I think that actually happens in one of their fights, Superman is under some mind control. Plus I think it's jealousy, Batman has to work at being a Superhero and it's a lot of talent. Superman's ability is nothing he had to achieve.

Here here. DC is just more interesting in all aspects. Superhero back stories, villains, the battles that they have. Marvel can't even get all of their characters in the universe with Spider-Man having to be out on his own.

Batman must have trust issues. Superman is the most goody-goody hero of all. There doesn't seem to be a reason to dislike him other than you're scared that he's too powerful and will kill us all.

I think that's the angle in BvS. Have you seen Man of Steel? In the final fight scene, Superman (& Zod) basically destroy the city.

MY understanding is that the original script was NOT a reboot but a continuation. Then, when Harold Ramis died the script went out the window.

I do believe that this is the case. I believe Bill Murray was holding up production of the original Part 3 (where they were supposed to be training some newbies) but once Egon passed, they shifted directions.

I think their goal was to make sure Aquaman wouldn't be called a pansy in this film. Casting him pretty much ensures that won't happen.

This reveal seems to be the most well-received of anything from the film yet. I'd assume with more character reveals we are getting closer to a teaser trailer.

Sony Pictures is broadening the Ghostbusters franchise and the first order of business will be an action-centric comedy that is a counterpart to the Paul Feig-directed film that will start production in June. The studio is simultaneously forming Ghostcorps, a new production company whose principals include original Ghostbusters architects Ivan Reitman and Dan Aykroyd; they will have offices at Sony with the mission to scare up branding opportunities based on the 1984 comedy classic.

Reitman is putting the film with a powerhouse brain trust: Captain America: The Winter Soldier helmers Joe and Anthony Russo, who just made a first-look Sony deal and are looking to direct and produce this; Drew Pearce, the Iron Man 3 and Mission: Impossible 5 scribe who’ll write; and Channing Tatum and his partners Reid Carolin and Peter Kiernan, who are attached to produce. The hope is for Tatum to play one of the Ghostbusters in this film. Given his versatility and franchising success in 21 Jump Street and Magic Mike, he’s a good cornerstone to launch another Ghostbusters series. The idea came from Pearce, who honed it the Russo Brothers, Tatum’s team and Reitman.
