View Full Version : PS3 Community - Suggestion thread for Gator's and Buckeye's rosters

I know there is a thread at OS for this, which is bordering on a whinefest and I can't post there anyway, so I wanted to start a similar thread here. :)

I would like this to have a different tone than the thread at OS though, hence the name suggestion. Gator and Buckeye do not owe us the level of detail each of us think we should have for 'our' teams. They have put in a ton of hours to give the community a solid base roster set and if anything, we as the community owe them something back in the form of feedback/suggestion for their rosters which they can utilize if they choose to as they continue to tweak their rosters. Helping out is the least we can do to show our gratitude and again, we should be helping, not bitching and demanding.

In addition a thread like this gives everyone playing the game a chance to edit your team in their games themselves if they choose to do so. We can also edit any teams we add here if anything changes between now and the season since it is hard to keep track of 120 teams every day, but very easy to track the teams you follow.

So basically I am not looking at this as a thread where we tell Gator and Buck what we want fixed, but a thread to share and fix our own rosters and make the information available to them if they wish to use it. I have BYU pretty much sorted out, a few changes to solidify after work and I will post the changes I have made to their roster for those interested a bit later.

I have already begun an in-depth edit of the Penn State roster based on Gator and Buck's work. My PSN ID is cjg225, if any PSU fans (or not) are interested.

I think I have the ratings pretty much where I want them, now it'll be moving the depth chart around and changing some positions based on the most recent info I have. I also added redshirt freshman MLB Mike Hull to the Gator/Buck roster to bring it to capacity. I chose Hull because PSU had too few linebackers, in my opinion.

BTW, Is it just me or has Thread Editing been turned off?

Anyway... sorry for the double post.

To be more to the point of this thread, I do hope we can get a change list going here. The Operation Sports forum is just SO cluttered and out of control. This is a much cleaner/easier-to-read forum and since I've already started a PSU edit, I'd like to get the Update/Correction info for a few select teams (mostly the Big 10 teams and a few of my other favorites, like Georgia and Alabama). Maybe I'll just update all the other teams myself... but then again, maybe not, since it's taken me 2+ hours so far to get the PSU roster near completion.

Im going to post a Version 1.1 somtime tonight with several fixes for certain teams. I havent looked at any of the corrections here just yet, but im still in edit mode.

I will post the newer version on my main PSN ID. Ill give that info once I release.

BYU Changes

Mostly player but some ratings changes (up and down) for a few players. The biggest oversights by EA are Heaps at QB and Pendleton at LOLB. I added specific ratings where I felt necessary and for others just what their overall should be. I think I was fair, but YMMV :)

QB
Jake Heaps #9 underrated in accuracy and awareness should be 84-86 overall IMO – Updated accuracy to 88 and awareness to 80

Replace Alex Kuresa (Incoming FR will serve a mission or redshirt) with Jason Munns - white #12 6’5” 254 dropback passer, ratings similar to Larks, RS SO Kennewick, WA

Change # for James Lark from 3 to 14 (3 duplicate)

RB
Replace Algernon Brown Mission replace with Adam Hine – black # 22 6’ 190 FR St George UT increase speed to 88 and jumping to 94 (State high jump champion and record holder)

TE
Mike Muehlman #82 moved to DE replace with Austin Holt - white #88 6’4” 245 SO South Jordan, UT overall rating 71

Replace Colby Jorgenson with Richard Wilson - medium #81 (18 is a duplicate) 6’2” 233 SO Spanish Fork UT 2nd string behind Devin Mahina overall rating 71

Replace Matt Edwards with Kaneakua Friel - medium # 85 6’5” SO Kaneohe, HI overall rating 70
(All TE are close in talent and have potential)

WR
O’Neill Chambers #4 is suspended for the entire 2011 season Change to MLB Uona Kaveinga – medium #4 5’11” 255 RS JR Hawthorne, CA (USC transfer is top MLB coming out of spring and should be rated a couple of points higher than Brandon Ogletree #44 overall, similar player but more athletic)

Cody Hoffman #2 RS SO change to black

Ross Apo #11, RS Fr should be rated similar to Cody Hoffman with more speed and better catching in traffic from my observations at spring ball. He is the #2 receiver heading into camp upped agility to 81, acceleration to 88, awareness to 84, catch to 86, spectacular to 84, traffic to 84, routes to 82 and jump to 86, this kid is legit 4 star player who de-committed from Texas to play with Heaps

Replace DJ Doman (Mission bound or Redshirt) with JD Falslev – white #16 RS SO 5’8” 175 Logan, UT. (leave receiving ratings alone but change Agility, Acceleration and elusiveness to 90, he is a dynamic punt returner.

OL
Matt Reynolds #70 LT is a 1st round NFL draft pick and is rated as the 2nd best lineman on the team, he should be highest rated lineman 92+ (Changed Strength to 98, Agility to 68, Awareness to 90, PBLK 90, RBLK 88.

Houston Reynolds #78 RG should be moved to backup C, same ratings

Walter Kahaiali’l #71 move to starting RG 6’3” 334 Jr Lahaina, HI – adjust ratings accordingly
Replace Cole Jones (don’t even know him) with Manu Mulitalo – medium RG #63 6’2” 330 RS FR West Valley, UT

Replace RT Ulua Lapuaho (again who) with Manaakai Vaitai – medium RT #79 (Brysons old #) 6’3” 300 RS SO Euless, TX

DL
Replace Thomas Bryson RDE #79 (left team, return is doubtful) with Mike Muehlman - white #82 6’4 240 SO American Fork, UT – Drop ratings to low 60’s

Move Eathyn Manumaleuna DT #55 to starting RDE, boost ratings (Strength, speed, acceleration and awareness mainly) to equal overall rating of 78-80 (He can move for 6’2” 295)

Replace Kesni Tausinga (?) DT with USC transfer Hebron Fangupo – medium DT #91 RS SR 6’1” 310 Santa Ana, CA rated equal to #1 DT Romney Fuga from Spring ball evaluations, will start if Fuga is not ready by opening day and get near equal reps if he is.

LB
Kyle Van Noy ROLB change to #3 and medium SO the starter here and fastest LB on the team, increase speed, acceleration and awareness, a solid 80 overall.

Jordan Pendleton #1 will start at LOLB and should be rated higher than Jameson Frazier, adjust accordingly (EA screwed him because of an injury last year, but he will start)

Replace Jadon Wagner #49 ROLB (left to enter CFL draft) with Aveni Leung-Wai - medium #36 ROLB RS SR 6’1 238 Aiea, HI – Drop overall rating 6-8 points from Wagners.

Secondary

Here is the Depth Chart entering fall camp (first 2 CB are projected starters)

CB
Corby Eason #25 RS SR

Robbie Buckner #26 RS JR

Replace Cory Gaines (suspended) with Preston Hadley - black #7 JR 6’ 200 Pleasant Grove, UT JC transfer will see lots of PT = to Buckner and Eason in overall ratings but a bigger hitter.

Jordan Johnson #28 RS FR will also see lots of PT behind Buckner

DeQuan Everett #21 (currently listed as a safety)

Move Landon Fowler to FS

Move Joe Sampson to SS

FS
Travis Uale #23

Mike Hague #32 (converted FB, wt is now 190) is battling Uale for starting spot

Carter Mees #15

Replace Steven Thomas #24 forced to quit Football after multiple concussions with Daniel Sorenson – white #17 6’2” 200 SO Colton California. Should be rated similar to #1 SS Jray Galea’I as will battle for the starting spot in fall camp.

SS
Jray Galea’i #18 or Daniel Sorensen (see above)

Joe Sampson moved from CB JC transfer black 6’ 205 Oakland, CA, expected to compete for playing time in fall camp

Move DeQuan Everett to CB

gator or anyone else: Has there been any post on recommended changes for Wyoming? I have found quit a few mistakes and would like to help... Example Austyn Carta-Samuals (Quarterback) left at Christmas... I have the complete Spring depth chart with names, numbers, ht and wt if that would help... Thanks again for your work!

that's my guess... from what i have heard, was that he was quit selfish; after a while most posters and players were calling him the spoiled CA boy... But, from what I have seen and heard about both of the true freshman we have coming in, talent wise, they have as much or more than Carta-Samuals...

Guys if there is anythig else Wyoming you need please let me know and thanks for the hard work. If can just get the Depth chart right, everything else will be easy. Thanks!

I'm gonna upload a roster to my locker. It has Oregon completely fixed down to the most minor of equipment edits. Also am doing edits for the top players at each position. Won't be doing anything beyond that since I want to start my dynasty. Should be up late tonight.

Changes based off of the Post-Spring Roster and Depth Chart for AF in MWC

It's an Open Office doc renamed from odt to doc because it kept failing the upload (invalid file error)

im working on a few Mountain West teams at the moment...i'm wondering if i should post them here, PM Gator or Buckeye, or a different option

Need any help with Wyoming in the MTN West? Do you know if gator is posting a new roster update?

Thanks!

Gator is holding off on edits right now due to the new roster glitch found.

UNC Changes:

LB Zach Brown should have 90+ speed and acceleration; he sprints on the UNC track team and has been unofficially clocked at a 4.28 40

QB AJ Blue should have better spd/agi/acc; he's an athlete that they've used at other positions

HB Giovanni Bernard should be a RS freshman

LT TJ Leifheit should be a RS freshman

5 star OT recruit Kiaro Holts is missing from the team

LE Quentin Coples should be better than 88 overall; considered a potential #1 overall pick in the draft

4 star DT JUCO transfer Sylvester Williams is missing from the team; probably a starter at DT and should be rated mid-80s

Jr. WR Josh Adams is missing from the team; 3rd/4th string and should be high 70s or low 80s

G Landon Turner and MLB Travis Hughes should probably be better; they were both high 4 star recruits (top 5 in the nation at their position according to scout) -- but I'm not sure how you are rating the other top recruits

Is this a good glitch or bad glitch and what is it?

The glitch basically has the "tendancy" override the ability line. When they edited the nmes it changed some players tendancies.... A very used example is Robinson of Mich. He is a scrambler, but simply changing his name turned him balanced, causing him to rarely if ever run despite the fact that he's almost run first in real life aswell as in accordance with his in game abilities.

I have a couple of additional UNC corrections:

DE Quinton Coples and DE Donte Paige-Moss have long dreads on my roster, but they do not have them in real life.

Coples:

Paige-Moss:

Tre Boston, Jonathan Cooper, Reggie Wilkins, and Keeon Virgile are missing dreads.

AJ Blue is listed as a Pocket Passer, but is really a scrambler (could be related to bug previously mentioned). He has been used as a Wildcat QB thus far because of his speed/elusiveness, although he is officially listed as QB since he has such a strong arm. Player Bio (http://tarheelblue.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/blue_a.j.01.html)

QB Marquise Williams' name is misspelled (missing R in first name). Player Bio (http://tarheelblue.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/williams_marquise00.html)

Thanks for all your hard work guys. A lot of us really do appreciate it.

Thanks man. I was hoping it was a good glitch like the CAP one with duplicate numbers

PM Badgersfan. I'm sure we could use the help with MWC, but Badgersfan is lead so it's his call. Even though Gator is holding off edits, we should have the list ready incase he starts up again.

bad glitch, if you edit the rosters (name, equipment, anything) it will change the tendency. for instance if you name denard robinson or give him dreads it will change him to a balanced qb instead of scrambler. It dramatically affects how much he runs in games. Hopefully we get a patch.

EA is aware of the issue.

did it ever occur to you..its not a glitch...this is intentional to avoid real player likeness

I'm currently in the process of making a spreadsheet with all edits for Stanford (incl. equipment, hometowns, height and weight, any other necessary changes; not doing ratings, however). You can use this to directly input this into your edits or new named rosters if you have to re-name due to the named rosters bug.

It's definitely a glitch. EA can't be held responsible for who the end-user makes a player resemble, so there would be no reason for them to prevent you from doing what you want. Just like Adobe can't be held responsible for what you do with PhotoShop.

I want to make sure the rosters are salvagable before I make anymore edits. Its a lot of time to edit rosters and I dont want to waste anymore time than I already have if the rosters will have to be named all over again.

Did they not say where or not the rosters will have to be named again yet?? I figured that they would have when they acknowledged the issue.

I believe we have MTN West covered. I am done with my 4 teams, but I'm sure we might be able to help out with a different conference if you are interested.
