Arizona:


The facemask on the white helmet is white, not blue.
The sleeve cuffs are solid-color, not two-tone, and are the same color as the jersey.
There is no block A logo on the pants.

I'd like the ability to create more uniforms for a team in game. I know you can technically use the TB site but you'll lose all but 1 rivalry and the cheerleader flags go from "Eagles" or "Bears" or whatever to "Go Team."

Oklahoma State:

Oklahoma State will have a new look this fall as the school will unveil new helmet and jersey combinations on July 28, a source said.
The Cowboys will have three different helmets - black, white and gray - and four different jerseys and pants - black, white, orange and gray - used in varying combinations throughout the season."

Last season, the Cowboys had white helmets with jerseys that were orange, white and black.

I am not understanding the schools and their anal need for controlling which frickin unis can be associated with their in game school. If you wore it once, someone probably thought it looked cool and wants it as an option. So who cares??? If it was worn last year there's no reason to cut it from the game.

Oh I know, I fully, 100% expect that all the Pro Combats will be in the game next year, just like the past two years have been. Just giving my "notice" to EA that they'll unleash the full fury and wrath of this Navy fan if for some reason, whatever reason, the unis didn't make it in. :D

How much creative freedom would you want to see for creating alternate uniforms for on-disc teams? Schools are obviously pretty rigid about what they'll permit to have in the game, so having the ability to create an alternate uniform from the ground up would probably make those programs squirm.

But do you mean "create" as in build a new helmet and jersey from scratch like in Teambuilder? Or create as in what the game allows you to do already where you can mix-and-match different uniform combinations to "create" a "new" look?

I don't think the schools would ever sign off on letting people create alternate looks from scratch to tie into the on-disc teams. That said, you could use team logos in Teambuilder and create your own "version" of that school with a different uniform set based on what you can do in TB.

I mean like taking a uniform like Nebraska's for example and simply switching the helmet colors, there would be no wholesale changes to the uniform, just the ability to change the helmet color or jersey color one of the schools offical colors. Another example would be giving Northwestern a black top, when they don't have one. Its not changing the design just the color. Although I understand now that this would create problems for schools like Alabama and Penn State who wouldn't be too please with people giving Penn State Blue helmets

I thought I read somewhere this was only a prototype. I do not think there are serious plans to use this design at this time, unless plans have changes

Uniforms that need fixed:

1: :Hawaii: The :Hawaii: logo sits way too low on the helmet. The only team in the game w/ this problem.

2: Fix the # 1 font for :Missouri: - :Nebraska: - :UNLV: etc... They are too fat and ruin the look of anyone wearing a jersey w/ the # 1 on it.

3: Team colors for team w/ Black and Gold jerseys. They have :Idaho: right, but :Colorado: and :Wake_Forest: have White/Black/Team Color and the team color is also black. Make Gold the team color or alternate team color for wrist bands, gloves, etc.

alot of teams changed uni's this year... i really think they should let EA know early and let them put in game even if they dont want their public to know till later.. they always know early on.. theres really no point in hiding it for so long since uniform changes are pathetically so common now

i really think they should let EA know earlyI think the schools that have finalized designs early on do pass them along to EA. I'd imagine that some of these schools that are making last minute announcements were also making last minute changes. They may have been planning to change all along (would have to assume they were), but the changes may not have been final until recently.

Because, as someone speculated and is probably 100% correct, it isn't the coach or AD or equipment manager doing the approving... it's some lady in an office who wouldn't know if things were correct or not. As far as the #1 font on some teams... it's been that way since at least NCAA 2008 {:Boise_State: QB on cover} and the :Hawaii: logo started being wrong last year. I've written multiple posts about both... nobody ever seems to listen. By posting here, I am hoping one of you guys can direct this to them and get these easy-to-fix things taken care of.

Just wanted to post some photos and show you that this is not a "school approval" problem, it is an EA problem. They have chosen a font for the number 1 that no team has ever used that I am aware of. And several teams have this phantom font. Examples:

So, somewhere along the line, EA created some random font that no team uses and they give it to some of the better teams or historically better teams, meanwhile smaller schools like :Ohio: and :Northwestern: and :SMU: and :Kansas_State: are correct. So please... someone w/ the ability, bring this to EA's attention. This should be a very simple fix, but it's one that definitely needs to be taken care of.

It'll be very interesting to see what Maryland does in response to the overwhelming fan opinions being shared in social media. Seems mostly negative so far, but it's hard to know. I don't seem to remember the helmets being shown off at the new uniform debut, so who knows if we'll see them again this season?

As for NCAA Football 13, that'll be interesting too; Maryland has to sign off on whatever will be in the game, after all.

Army's not bad. Extremely plain jersey, but not bad. I do like the cleats. Nice move there going with the combat boot appearance.

Edit - One thing I notice. They seem to have a hard-on for stripes down the middle of the helmet. So help me god, they better not try to pull that shit with Navy's helmet. Navy has used solid gold helmets without any stripes, logos or numbers for every game except 1 since 1974. They better leave that alone.

Michigan brought back their helmets from the throwback game versus Notre Dame (maize numbers on side of helmet). They swapped out the gray facemask for blue and will wear them for the rest of the B1G conference season.

Now, if they add in the uniform 'alternates' combos for user selection, that would be impressive.

Now that's a uniform and helmet that actually look pretty good. The uniform (I have never really paid attention to SJSU's unis, so regardless of how new or old they are, I'll give my thoughts), it's not too flashy, fairly simple but yet well done. Not too sure about that Spartans going up the left leg, but not a big deal. The helmet looks good, with the logo on both sides and the spear going up the middle of the helmet pointing towards the facemask/opponent. A nice clean uniform that doesn't look like a uniform abortion like so many we've seen lately (cough Oregon, Maryland).

I'm just hoping they get our uniforms correct this year. For 2 years in a row our pants & white helmets have been incorrect. There's no 'A' logo on the pants (although I wouldn't be mad if they kept it because I think it looks better that way), & our white helmets have white facemasks and chinstraps, not navy blue like in the game.

Are those for games or just special spring game/practice unis? I thought they had special spring game unis last year as well, but am not 100% sure.

I'm not sure, it didn't say. I've heard that Oregon wants to have new uni's every 4 years so every player can have a cycle of getting new ones at least once. I believe it's been 4 years now since the "wings" uni's debuted. At least if they do get new ones this season & they don't get in the game they'll have the DLC updates for em.

Arkansas is getting new uniforms next season. They haven't been debuted yet but according to recruits that have been shown them there is an alternative black/grey uniform to go along with the traditional red and white. Who knows if that is an actual uniform or one of those samples Nike sends that they are just telling recruits will be worn.

The "HOUSTON" text is much larger than before, the "wet cat" logo on the hip appears to have been replaced with a red UH logo, and the new helmet is candy apple red, but other than that our uni seems pretty much unchanged.

Well, alright, that's one way. Eventually low-res pictures almost have to disappear altogether. My mom has a 2 year old phone that was already very basic and simple by the standards of two years ago, and even her phone has a good camera capable of taking high quality pictures. The better and better technology that they're fitting into phones these days, I have to believe that low-res pictures are nearly a thing of the past.

Side-note: One of my favorite aspects of technology is that the phone is essentially now used, primarily, to send telegraphs.

For me, it depends on whether or not it's creative / smart / logical, or if it's just a fad / cash in. Some schools toe the line very carefully. The Air Force Academy had those special Thunderbirds and 9-11/Flag helmets a few years ago. Those were badass, and I wouldn't mind if they did something like an American flag field (as ridiculous as it would look). Because it's creative and makes sense for the AFA.

I don't mind the Sun Devils helmets above if that's just an affect of the lighting. It doesn't actually look chrome, outside of where the flash/light was. It could just be a normal red helmet with the metallic flecks. I don't mind that, in fact I love it.

Colored fields aren't something I'm totally against, except in the case of UMD's potential black field. That shit is just stupid. Design is cool, black is stupid.

You can sort of see the copper look. Put your fingers over the light reflections on the front and top of the helmet in the picture and, at least to me, there is definitely a copper hue that stands out on the helmet.

Copper is not only associated with our great state’s mining history, but it has influenced architectural design on our campus, including our athletic facilities – most notably the ring at the top of the McKale Center, and the future North End Zone Football Complex. As such we embrace the idea that as the University of Arizona we will incorporate copper into a special helmet design to represent our state and University. Yep, Bowling Green has always kept it nice, clean and simple. Probably part of the reason I enjoy going to a BG home game every now and then. :D They did a good job on that. Like you said, integrated their two colors, didn't get crazy with it, kept it clean and simple.

As well, unlike their helmets a couple years ago that while they were orange, it was a different shade of orange from that of the actual school color (not sure how that ended up happening unless it was an intentional decision by the athletic department), these helmets have the proper shade of orange to match that of the official school color. It's a clean, good helmet.

Like you said, much better than throwing in colors that aren't a part of the official school colors. Supposedly there was or is talk of maybe some new uniforms. I don't know if it was just simply fans wondering or hope for some new uniforms to go with the new helmets or if the school has uniforms planned and will unveil them later this summer, or in the next year or two.

The admin on the Arizona Scout website posted it today on the premium (the ones you pay for) message boards. I actually heard this awhile back. My best friend was roommates w/ the student Nike rep at UA in the early 2000's & he still gets heads up on when we get new unis & such, & he tells me friend, then my friend tells me. Lame story I know, but you can take it w/ a grain of salt just in case it doesn't happen. A few months back someone on the same board posted saying a player on the team told him the same thing.

With all that, I don't know 100% if we'll be getting Pro Combats this season, but I am positive we'll have red helmets. But from what I've heard we'll have red helmets w/ grey Pro Combats, & a jersey to match the copper helmets.

We'll be getting entirely new uniforms in 2013.

Ah yes, the rocket pointed right at Doyt Perry Stadium. :D I do believe that's the only occurrence in college sports (or any US sports for that matter) where something like a missile is involved and is pointed at a rival team's stadium. :D

And agreed. The BGSU logo looks absolutely nothing at all like the Atlanta Falcons logo, and looking back through BGSU logos from the past, never has. There is absolutely no reason or basis for BGSU to use something liket he Atlanta Falcons logo, other than, like you said, them being the "Falcons". BGSU has, and has had, a good logo. No need to change it to something completely different and unrelated to BGSU and their past logos.
