2011 EASGCCS - "Who wants to play?" & Game Recap Thread

The EA SPORTS Game Changers Championship Series is a 4 week NCAA Football 12 online competition played on the XBOX 360 and the PS3. Players will go head to head and play as many games as they want in order to be at the top of the polls at season's end for a chance to win a FREE copy of MADDEN NFL 12.

Who you play against, what team you use, and how you play the game will all be factored into the polls. At the end of the four-week period there will be numerous bowl games for each system that will be sponsored by different NCAA and Madden fan sites (including The Gaming Tailgate) where the winner will receive a prize. There will also be awards also to those who may not have been selected to go to a bowl game, so anyone can win something in this competition.

In the inaugural EA SPORTS Game Changers Championship Series, there were nearly 1000 games played on each system during the four week event and we look to boost this even more in year two.

So how does it work? MyMaddenPad has created a site where you can register for the competition (http://gamechangers.mymaddenpad.com). This website will track your games, list your wins and losses, show your feedback, and more. You’ll be able to set your rivals, your favorite team, a motto to live by, and an avatar. This site will have the latest polls but we will also be using the EA SPORTS NCAA Football 12 Forums to provide information and for you to call out the great game you had against another opponent.

So are you excited yet? This virtual football season will be the best yet and what better way to start it off than joining this competition and joining your friends on a quest to be #1 in the nation.

Miami rallied from a 10-0 deficit to lead 14-10. However, a long TD run put Boise ahead 17-14 and they would hold on to win the game. GG JB.

The best part was that I was able to play online against someone without having to direct connect and it was very smooth. I hope it stays this way all year.

I got blown out in my first one. The guy I played was pretty sim, so I don't have any complaints. He went right down the field on the first drive with a nice little run offense and scored. I got the kick, completed a slant and then fumbled the ball at my 30. He scored a few plays later. Next drive I end up throwing a pick, I believe. His ensuing drive I have him in 3rd and 25 and have everyone covered. His QB breaks an attempted sack and then converts the 3rd down. That broke my back right there. I was so fuming that I didn't even want to finish the game.

41-7 was the final I believe. I stopped playing when I was down 21-0. A person can only withstand so much unluckiness in such a short period of time. I'm not even going to talk about the only time that he ran a HB Screen happened to be against the only freakin' corner blitz I called all game which was a 70+ yard TD. When you get down to people on this game, you're not coming back. People are going to sit in Dime or Quarter and just patrol the middle taking virtually everything away because the CPU defense owns deep routes. That's exactly what he did. I'm pretty sure he only ran 2 or 3 defensive plays the entire game, but oh well, that's not something that's going to bug me.

Well, I've seen a lot worse. I just don't know how to attack these defenses that people are running. Well, I do, but I don't want to do it. It would basically require me to get in power run formations and pound it down their throat, which is something I don't tend to do. I usually run these spread attacks where I'm throwing 70% of the time, but there's definitely an adjustment that's going to need to be made.

Ah, I moved up to the #2 slot, which is exactly where I want to be. I'm pretty sure I could not play a game the rest of the way and finish #2. I can't get a game on 360 other than against Miyagi to save my life. :D

No one on 360 even plays. Myself, Miyagi, Mike, and Tiger and played BY FAR the most games and we're pretty much the only 4 that even bother to play. Meanwhile, the top 5 or 6 PS3 players have 30+ games played. WTF? :D

I got a ton of games last year in on PS3. I kept losing to Welfare, though, so that ended up putting me out of the top 2 seeds. :D at him doing so poorly. I told him he would lose a lot more once they got rid of the man coverage mirroring.

But yeah, I'm immensely surprised at the lack of quality players on the 360 side. I've got several on my friend's list, but the vast majority seem to be online dynasty players and don't even bother. Oh well. I'll step it up if I need to, but as it is now, there's no point in me even playing anymore games since I'm easily 2nd and no one else seems to want to try to move up.

ps3- looks like the top guys are getting a little snippity :D with a week to go.

I dont care how ugly my loss side looks, i just got into it to find other straight players. But its amazing how varied the opinion of straight is ...? Sure I hate losing, but I wouldnt call myself a push over by any means. I'm still trying to experiment against another person to see what certain gameplans really do. But some of these have a minimal view of straight sim. They still use plays that most know cause defensive AI to act stupid and get sucked into the middle and more often then not they have to go for a play thats 40 or more yards or they come out in the same defense all game..not most of the guys but i've found a few :D. ..and it appears xhitstick has gotten some negative rep :D the top guys are starting to feel fear and pressure

The race is heating up and there is no telling who will emerge as the #1 player in the EASGCCS on the PS3 side. Here are the latest polls with the number of 1st place votes in ()



1. xMrHitStickx757 (6) – He got 2 neutral comments this past week which may have hurt him a little bit in the polls as far as strengthening and expanding his lead on the field but there is not denying that 20+ win streak he has. Only a 11 member rating is a little disappointing especially when you have a guy with a 19 member rating. I love his team selection also, very mixed.

2. Dfense (3) – Dfense hold solid at #2 but if he slips up he may be on the outside of the Championship game. Would like to see him mix up teams a little bit especially if he's going against someone that is not up to the caliber of FSU.

3. Jonalan34 (1) – This guy puts in more work than anyone in the field and it shows with his league high 46 Rep and league high 19 member rating. He plays everyone who picks up the controller and has fun doing it. He has definitely closed the gap between him and Dfense. So it's no surprise someone gave him a first place vote.

3. VULFPILOT – He's on a mini winning streak and is tied for the 3rd spot. I look for him to make a push this week and make up some ground on the competition. The 96% Negative Feedback rating has him tied for 3rd. Let's hope he can turn things around.

5. Phreakk – I like this guy and he's sitting nice in this 5th spot. His 41 Rep is only behind Jonalan and he has made a move this past week and put notice on the field.

He's not lying, no one played a single game on the 360 side. I don't see the point. I mean, no one below me is playing any games, so it's only logical they're not going to catch me and considering there's no way for me to move up, the only thing I can do is play my way out of the top 2 spots. Why do that when I can just not do anything and still get in the championship game?

I am disappointed by the lack of drive by the 360 players to get games in, though.

Well I had good day, played 7 games include mrhitstick. I m surprised that I beat #1 mrhitstick 21-7.
I went 2-5 today. Had 3 games that decided 3 points or less today ( all in loss), one game by 7 points (win).
