In my defense, my interest in football has dwindled QUITE a bit and in console gaming in general, thus, the interest in things posted here has dwindled.

At the pace I was on back in the summer, I should be over 6,000 posts by now. Unfortunately, from the last week of October through this week, my free time drastically goes down due to multiple campaigns that we're doing on 3 of our stations. I can't even begin to count, since October 27th, how many times I have worked 15-16 hours, gotten maybe 2-3 hours of sleep, and then turn around and work another 15-16 hour day the next day just because we have constant live drives going on from 6am to 5 or 6pm, and then throw in HS football playoffs or HS basketball that night that keeps me at work until 10 or 11pm.

Thankfully, one campaign wrapped up two weeks ago, our biggest campaign wrapped up Friday night, and our final campaign wraps up this week. So my free time should go back up now, and with college basketball in full swing, the NFL entering the home stretch, the NBA starting up in two weeks, news eventually starting to come out on the new Tiger Woods coming out in March, etc, my posting should be going back up, get me back on pace.

Something I just thought of, I need to create an outline for putting people on my ignore list. If you whine and bitch about socks nonstop or you can't at least type and post at a 9th grade English class level, then you automatically go on the ignore list, no questions asked. That should filter out some or most of the kiddie or illiterate idiots who show up here between March/April and July/August every year. :)

Then come up with some other standards to add to that outline as various occasions or situations arise in the future.

You honestly think Chip Kelly or Gus Malzahn or someone of their ilk would line up on the field, under a minute and not have one or two possible plays that they would use on the next play? That's exactly what I did... if he had came out in goalline, more than likely my first play would have worked. Since he wasn't in goalline, I knew that Power O would work. Not because of an AI issue but rather because I'd have the numbers plus the strength. TE1 takes out the CB, OT (tackle over) takes out the LOLB, RT takes DE, RG takes DT, C takes DT, FB plus pulling LG pick up any garbage. Since he has a single high safety then that leaves only the safety and the MLB1 to try to make a play but they'll either get lost in the pile or picked up by the FB/LG.

You realize that some people actually have knowledge about how the game of football is supposed to work? Besides, if I called a timeout and failed on 3rd down, that gives him the ball back with 30 seconds. 30 seconds plus 2 timeouts is enough time to setup into field goal range. If I instead run some clock down, then whether I score a TD or settle for a FG, he has very little time to answer back. That doesn't make it cheese, that is strategy.

No... I get tired of him making idiotic statements. And then, when you call him on those statements, he changes his original argument.

Case in point, he said "in the real world a team would spike the ball or call a time out and think about a play" so I give him examples of two coaches that would not spike the ball or call a timeout.
So instead of walking away or conceding his original point, he changes his argument to "what real world coaches would do is pointless when the video game has a larger than 50% success rate on any play".

No... I get tired of him making idiotic statements. And then, when you call him on those statements, he changes his original argument.

Case in point, he said "in the real world a team would spike the ball or call a time out and think about a play" so I give him examples of two coaches that would not spike the ball or call a timeout.
So instead of walking away or conceding his original point, he changes his argument to "what real world coaches would do is pointless when the video game has a larger than 50% success rate on any play".

So which is it? Are we going to compare the game to real life or are we going to go back to his favorite old argument that the game is "just a toy"?

whats with the confrontational anger? I told you I was just giving initial viewpoints and you are taking this far too seriously. I'm not bouncing from one side to the other. I'm asking where should the 2 comparably meet with the video game being the focus point because the video game is not and never will be real life. Its not an argument, its a fact that it is a toy because you can have all the knowledge about football you want when you play another kid who can score a TD in 1 or 3 throws with no knowledge at all.

Yep. All of us have to deal with that crap every day. Says one thing, we call him on it, his argument instantly changes to something else but still tries to use both arguments.

Starts off calling it cheese because in the real world (his fantasy world more like it), a team would spike the ball or call a timeout in that situation. Then he comes back later and it has changed to suddenly, "what real world coaches would do doesn't matter because it's a toy."

So which one is it? Either it's cheese because it's not what you feel/think real world coaches would do. Or it's not cheese because regardless of what real world coaches would or wouldn't do, it doesn't matter because it's a toy. You can pick one argument and only one, so decide. You can't use both and sit there flip flopping back and forth between them depending on which one better fits the discussion at the time.
