Year Four - Week 1

We are now live with the season.

I'm not sure I'll be able to play before I leave town early tomorrow, so I will play and advance Sunday afternoon.

Illinois wins a close one against Maryland 13-12. Maryland had the chipshot FG to win but misses.

weirdest thing happened. as I was lining up for that FG, my controller turned off. I try a few times to turn it back on so I can pause the game or something, but it kept turning off. then I was scrambling around trying to find another battery back to use, and before I was able to use it, the ball snapped and the kick went about a mile wide left. lol look really funny but crappy way to end. :D

It did look funny and I was wondering why you were running the time down on your field goal. It was a good game man up til the end. Like I said I did not want to win that way and would have happily took the loss because I fully expected to when you lined up for the field goal. Can't wait for the rematch at some point.

Yeah it was definitely crazy. You should have seen the kick, even when I have messed up and not stopped the bar it was not that bad. The only thing I can think of is that the controller reconnected right as time was running out and something crazy happened. But even then I do not know how that could happen (the kick being that screwed up)

Okay yeah I'm definitely not playing tonight, I have to get up around 4am to catch a flight so I will play then advance on Sunday.

Panthers RB T. Peeler came out of the gates on fire in the season opener, ripping off a 78yd rushing TD on the first play of the game and then a 57yarder on the next series. Peeler showed his raw strength and power as both runs were powerful runs through the heart of the LSU Defense.

While PITT was ripping off TD's with ease the Tiger offense looked lousey early in the game going 3 and out 3 straight series. On the Panthers 3rd series they put together a 13 play scoring drive that ended with a 12 yard TD strike!

The Defending Champs took it all in stride though as Coach Heavy struck a match under his teams *** so they could get there head from out of there :) On the next offensive series Mettenberger hit T. Bolden, half of the 7 - 11 reciever combo, for a 71yd TD bomb through the air. The Pitt D was feeling a little to good about their early 21-0 lead and was way too aggressive with the corner blitz.

On the next defensive series for the Tigers the fan saw greatness. J. "Primetime" Chambers snatched a pass out of the air and returned it for the pick six to make the game 21-14. The very next series for the Tigers again saw Primetime get another interception. The Tiger offense would take over and drive the field only to fumble the ball on the goaline where Pitt would recover it. You could see the Chinese Bandits licking their chops as the Panthers lined up on their own 1 yard line. Coach Heavy was relentless with his defense and on 3rd down got the sack and safety to make the score 21-16.

It was all down hill from their for the Pantherts as the Tiger Defense scored again later in the game and the Offense ran the ball down their throat keeping Peeler off the field. Next week the Tigers look forward to a rematch with the Wolverines of Ann Arbor in the Big House!

Um yeah, that worked like a charm. Sometimes it's best to admit defeat and not pitch the ball. :D

I think we play week 3, let me just say I am looking forward to it, but not looking forward to the butt kicking I am going to get. I was comparing our two teams last night and good lord I do not think one guy on my team would start for you and I have some guys who start that would not be in your top three. :sick:

Should be fun anyways, and I know one thing, I am not running the speed option. :smh:

our game was full of bloopers. in the first quarter, my defense intercepted a pass, only to lose it show how and have Illinois recover it. I think my finger barely touch the LT button and it pitched the ball, or at least that was my guess.

I also miss a FG earlier in the game too. it was just too far for my current kicker. my kicker last year would have nailed it.

my stay at a 6* prestige looks to be a short one. :D

Yeah I really did not get what happened on that interception in the first quarter either. One second you are running the ball back and the next it's saying that it's my ball 1st and 10, weird. Yeah when you lined up for the long field goal you missed I thought you had it because it was only one yard longer than the first one you made by plenty. Then there is the speed option debacle, I think it was the second quarter I missed a field goal because I did not move it over far enough, plenty off leg just poor accuracy on my part. It was truly a weird game, fun, but weird.

Oh yeah and he and I have talked a little on the side about recruiting because I have struggled mighty hard in this dynasty with it. So last year I finished with my style and way of recruiting. Now this year I am using the tips and style that he gave me. I will say that for the past two years in the dynasty I have run with my brothers I have been playing as Duke and I have had the #14 class (as a three star team) and the #7 class (as a four star team) so i am interested in seeing what happens with Illinois in this dynasty and their recruiting while using lilheavy's advice.

LMAO...I was looking at it in the preseason. I usually start off by searching for recruits that have me as #1 and add what I like. Normally I may choose about 2 or 3. This year I ended up with 12, lol, that was before I even did a search for my pipeline states that had me in the top 3. I think I started off with about 17 on my board which is about 5 more than I like to start with. It may comeback to bite me in the butt...we'll see. I left alot off my board that had me top 3 but I don't really need them and I figured I'll leave some for you guys....

Hey all, I'm supposed to travel for work starting 3/20 and supposed to be returning late 3/26. There is a chance that the trip *might* get extended, but going to fight like hell to ensure that doesn't happen since I don't want to be in Taiwan to start with.......

Update, not even on the trip yet, and it got extended to 3/31. Hopefully we can get a week update before I leave and then I guess I should set my team to autopilot?
