Arkansas State defeats Louisiana Tech 31-22 largely due to 4 interceptions by the defense. CB Maurice Gibbs led the way snatching two picks away from the Bulldogs. HB Jakhari Gore paved the way for the offense carrying the ball 191 yards on 23 carries with 2 touchdowns. Gore's 80 yard run with four minutes left in the game was the decider making the margin for the Bulldogs to try to make up too large.

The Red Wolves next face off with coach psuexv and the Toledo Rockets.

ohio takes an "L". 5 picks and a missed extra point kills me. Lost 14 to 13. Played with a messed up controller. QB was over throwing it all game. D was the only thing that kept me in the game. On the plus side thou, I signed 2 WR's. 1 3star and 1 4star.

Pull of the upset JB, wouldn't mind a flying high Troy team leading up to our game.

I had 35 dropped on my in the 2nd against Texas Tech so I'm not having high hopes :D

My offense grade went from a B- to D+ this season.

Sounds like a plan. My wife has some shows to watch on the DVR but I'll try and get on alittle before 9pm central, then I'll stay on for a while past 9pm central to see if we can meet up. If not Friday sounds good to me.

Hope to see you tonight.

Temple wins 42-7

UAB is just not rated high enough to make a game of it, gigemaggs99 made more plays than i thought he would with such a bad team, should be a fun rebuild project, just dont take these user games to seriously until u get some recruits and transfers into the program.

Thanks for playing, this is NOT for me. I like playing with the lower ranked teams but this sucks! I need to sign up for these leagues when they start and there is a level playing field. You're going after 4 and 5 * recruits when I'm lucky to get 2* guys interested in my team.

You are better at this game, no doubt about it, but when my team SUCKS it's like I might as well being using UAB vs a top 25 team. I don't really understand what the point it of playing. I don't mind losing but I have no CHANCE of winning win my O-line can't hold a block, my WRs can't catch, my RB can't get a positive yard, my entire defense is slower than your Offensive players.....I just don't see what the point of playing these are. These teams are not in the same league....this is my biggest complaint against online dynasties, offline when teams get better they would be invited to a better conference...the problem here is I'm still recruiting 2* players when you are recruiting 4+....I've fighting an uphill battle.

Maybe I'm tired and I need to sleep on it, but right now this is not looking like it's for me.

Did you see how you could just run OVER and THRU my D-line? I couldn't stop a run if I wanted....where's the fun in that?

Anyways, I'm sure I'll get a bunch of "dude your new, take your lumps...." well you know... I'm 34 years, stay at home Dad and I don't get to play that much, when my son goes to bed I want to play and I want it to be fun. Bottom line, this was NOT fun.

Thanks for basically running the clock out after the 1st quarter.

Night.

Well Gig I'll be the first one to say it. You're new, suck it up, take your lumps. But in all seriousness it's definitely a struggle. I just started last season with Toledo and they weren't good at all. Oline can't block for sh*t and the defense didn't have maybe 2 guys rated in the 80s. But you have to adapt. I started using their playbook which is all shotgun(even though I'm a runner) and threw quick passes and took what the D gave me. And of course even then the guys would drop passes left and right, I had one game last year with 13 drops. But I still had a good record and took them to the MAC title game and lost to Prime.

gigemaggs99
01-26-2011, 09:39 AM
ok,
I guess it falling on death ears...then. You can ask prime. I did throw short quick passes, they were either dropped, or went directly to his DBs. If he came out with 5 or less in the box I would quick audible to a run yet still he was able to tackle me in the backfield. There is no strategey involved.

When he had the ball and was up, he was running the ball. I picked goalline D and crash the middle, he was able to run up the gut break 2-3 tackles and get 10+ yards.

It would be like putting a Jr High team up against a TOP NCAA team. I'm failing to see the "fun" there.

One question I do have, in my madness I pressed the buttons to quickly on 4th and long I pressed the FG attempt instead of Punt, well I was out of Time outs so I kicked the FG...it was something like a 89 yard attempt, his DB caught the ball around the 50 and somehow I ended up with the ball at the 50 with 1st and 10. HOW IN THE WORLD DOES THAT HAPPEN?

In regards to the catching, you almost have to have your catching set to conservative. I do it right away after I see a drop or two.

Maybe I'm missing something, but what exactly is your point? I think we all understand that you're not happy with the team YOU picked. So, are you making suggestions to improve this league? Are you wanting to pick another team?

No sir, sorry for complaining. I'll just play my games and keep my mouth shut.He wasn't telling you to just shut up & play... he was actually wanting to know what solution you were looking for, as am I.

This league is always up for input and discussion... we just have to hear it.

Good game E, was a little back and forth there for the most part but the biggest blunder came when the staff called a TO when WKU held on 4th down. That timeout proved to be a big difference in this game as the Hilltoppers drove inside the 10yd line but got stopped short of the endzone as time expired to end the half. A TD there would have made the score 17-7 going into half, even a FG would have changed things.

Great game and well played.

psuexv
01-28-2011, 08:10 AM
yeah I would definitely have to say that hold at the end of the half where you didn't even get a FG was huge. Could have definitely been a different ball game.
