Oh its on my Queue. I started Red Dead and Dante's Inferno. I need to get back into Red Dead. #1 I enjoy the game and #2 there are allot of trophies that even I should be able to obtain. However, I simply cannot get into Inferno. Seems to be a bad copy cat version of God of War.

Saboteur is a good trophy getter. All I have left is destroying the Nazi targets to get the plat, problem is I had to get a new PS3 and so I have to start over.

I bought the 3 year protection plan through Playstation Plus, so I'm good if it does break. It's the only thing in my entertainment room that is black and doesn't match at all which has bugged me for a long time. I sent it off to get it painted off white, which I'm hoping will look good with everything else. Don't ask, I have to have everything like that match. My car is the same way. If there's one thing off in my car or my entertainment room, it drives me nuts until I fix it.

By the way for all my whores out there....Spelunker HD came out on PSN yesterday, $9.99, and has FORTY SEVEN trophies with a PLATINUM :) but all trophies are hidden. From what I gather this is exactly the same as Japan's PSN game, so it shouldn't be hard to find a list. But it will probably be hard to plat.

Well, it was actually a used one so that's probably the issue. I bought a new Dual Shock 3 one (my second controller) and it seemed like it was doing it at first but it turns out that I was mistaken. It's working just fine.

After some cursory searching on the interwebs, it appears to be an issue with the non-dual shock 3 controllers after normal wear and usage.

I did it with two controllers. I put the one controller on defense and one of the corners on player lock and moved him about 40 yards downfield. I called a man defense. With the other controller I selected a streak, threw a lob, took control of the WR and then grabbed the other controller, picked it off, and ran it back. It took a few tries simply because the retard kept dropping the ball.

Yeah, NCAA has a LOT of stupid trophies that seem to only be there to annoy you. Madden, too. Win a fumble pile up in the endzone for a touchdown? WTF?

I wouldn't say "annoy". They're trophies that are designed to give you incentive to try the new features. The central problem with the Player Lock trophy is that it is extremely, extremely unlikely to be earned in normal play. The chances of getting the ball even thrown your way with Player Lock is pretty bad ... the chances of you being in position to make the play is really bad. I understand wanting to incentivize player lock, but I don't think that's quite the way to do it. Maybe "make a User _____, other than User Tackle, using Player Lock" (i.e. User Catch, User Pick, User Big Play, User Big Hit). That wouldn't be so bad.

They're in the process of upgrading their servers to handle the massive amount of hits they've been getting. The admin there said it will be sporadic at peak times until they get everything upgraded, so it should be much more stable once they do get it updated. There's really no sense in switching to another site, though, yourgamercards.net is the only one that auto-updates and provides a gamercard for all PSN users, not just people registered with their site.

Assassin's Creed II hands out trophies like candy. I'm not even really trying and I'm getting them. Not gonna get a platinum in it though. No way am I going to bother looking for those 100 feathers. That's not fun. That's busy work.

It's not that bad, I finished them all off in about 2 hours probably. If you check your DNA strand, it tells you how many you got and are missing in each location and if you use a guide online, you should be able to do it in a sitting or two. It's annoying, but getting to level 50 and the other BS online trophies for Brotherhood are MUCH worse.

Everything was so smooth. The animations were as smooth as butter, the online menus and interface were silky smooth, there was no major gameplay flaws, offense and defense was about as balanced as can be. I had several games where the final was 49-35 or whatever, but I also had several 17-10 battles. If you look at the game now, it's so...stiff. The menus are clunky, the animations are clunky, the gameplay itself is just way too slow and jagged feeling. Online was also so much better. The leaderboards actually worked, we had friend's list that showed the scores of their games while they were playing, we had clans in whatever year that was that allowed you to compete against other clans...which was awesome.

It was just so much more of a fluid and connected experience. Since NCAA '07, EA has completely gone away from the competitive online play portion of the game. As of now, their focus is 100% on online dynasty and creating a game that casual people enjoy. I mean, yeah, it'll get them more sales in the end, but for someone who has been playing the game every year since '98, it's just extremely disappointing to see them year in and year out make stupid mistakes and basically make the game unplayable online. '07 on the PS2 was the last time I had fun with an online football game. '08 on PS3 was a mess with the frame rate, lag online, spectacular catch, and the options...none to mention the defense was way overpowered in how quickly they got to the QB. '09 had ZERO pass rush whatsoever. There was no point in blitzing because they very simply were not going to get there. '10 had the same pass rush issues and the game still was way too slow and the movements were jerky and just not smooth. '11 improved on the pass rush, but it's still not where it should be. Zone coverage is worthless, man defense is overpowered, toss plays work way too well, and once again, the game is slow, clunky, and just gives me a headache trying to play because of the jerky and slow animations.

I was definitely spoiled by the PS2 version, because I've utterly despised every edition of the game so far on PS3/360. I just really wish EA would go back to what made the game so successful on PS2, and that's a well connected, well balanced, smooth, and biggest key of all...FUN college football game.

On a trophy whore note, I'm so glad I finished off the Bowl Trophies trophy last week ... lost my NCAA profile while playing a user game, apparently. Lost all the various championship, individual and bowl trophies that I had accumulated.

My post is mostly towards NCAA '04-'07 on PS2. Granted, NCAA '04 was the best of all of them, but they all had what this current generation of NCAA Football games are missing - smoothness. NCAA '04 was definitely the best NCAA Football game I've ever played. The sad thing is that it was the first one that supported online, and it was more feature rich back then on their first attempt than it is now almost 7 years later.

I've said it all along, fix the zone coverage, fix man coverage, fix the defensive pass rush, fix shotgun run blocking(also all run blocking since blocking from big formations this year is overpowered), get rid of the terrible engine they're using and make the movement a LOT smoother(if you can do it on PS2, you can do it on 360/PS3), and enhance online with the features it had on PS2. I rarely ever talk about NCAA the series anymore, because it feels like I'm beating a dead horse, but there's one way to be sure that I'm speaking the truth. NCAA '04 I played over 500 games online. NCAA '05 I played over 500 games online. Same thing with '06 and '07 on PS2. In my PS2 lifetime, I easily logged over 2,000 ranked games online alone. On '08-'11 with 360 and PS3? MAYBE 200 combined, and I didn't enjoy a single second of any of them.

yep thats the level. i sat on it for a good 8 hours only to have to quit the level because where it gave me a checkpoint I would come in and get hit by the flamethrower guy before i could move. God that game sucked.

Well World at War on Veteran and Killzone 2 on Elite, step aside, as I have FINALLY just beaten something I've been trying to do for ages. Call of Duty 4. Complete Mile High Club on Veteran difficulty.

I must have tried this thing at least 200 times and have been within milliseconds multiple times. I was finally able to get to the hostage tonight, and I was so shaky that I almost missed and killed the hostage, which would have made me do it over again. Alas, I hit the bastard in the head, jumped out of the plane, and got my achievement.

Easily and by far the hardest shit I've ever done on a game. I swear the reason I haven't been able to get it is one of the reasons I hate on Call of Duty so much, but now that I've done it...nah, it still sucks. :D

JBHuskers! He gained the most with 83 trophies and no platinums, followed by clw with 81 trophies and no platinums, rounded out by cdj with 75 trophies and no platinums. I had the most platinums for the month, so :P:P:P:P:P.

On another note, remember when I said that trophies auto sync? That's either only certain types of trophies ... or maybe trophies for games that you've already played? Either way, I had six more trophies today when I sync'd that I didn't have in IOU's list, in Mass Effect 2 and After Burner Climax. The ABC trophies were just a few hours after the Road to Glory trophies that showed up in my profile in IOU's update, and 14 days before my most recent NCAA trophies, which were both in his update.

It's the drive the wrong way on the interstate "trial" that the Origami Killer gives Ethan. Usually the tilt right/left fails on me when trying to avoid the construction workers OR I get all the way to the end and it doesn't register and I hit one of the cop cars.

Apparently all I needed to do was come home to the friendly confines of HDMI and make ABSOLUTELY SURE I kept the controller to where the PS button was facing directly at my chest. Popped the game in and one try boom perfection everything registers and a bronze and PLATINUM (a big deal for me) for Heavy Rain.

As an aside I REALLY enjoyed that game but it must now go back to the fine folks at GameFly. Hoping someone makes a game similar to it in the near future/are there any in the works and/or out now? It reminded me of the books I used to read in grade school where the choices you made affected the outcome of the book.

Meh I haven't been a good whore this month. I got the Plat in Heavy Rain. I absolutely fell in love with that game. Once I finished it I got caught with no GameFly titles that really grabbed me in and I'm waiting for a batch of 3 new games (You Don't Know Jack; Batman; Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood) should arrive early in March. IMHO we should add a "Trophy Whore of the Month" Icon (like the I Vote For ....) icon. :nod:

We could do it two ways:

#1 you get to keep the Icons and accumulate them as time progresses

#2 there is only one Trophy Whore Icon allowed on the site and it would sort of be like the WWE title you lose it and boom the icon falls off your profile and goes to the new champion.

I don't know. I saw it coming because I was running my mouth the other day about how I had a launch 360 for 4 years without an issue and my current Halo Reach silver 360 for almost 6 months without an issue. Shouldn't have done that. Turned it on and it turned red. I think I cried a little. :D

I'm on my 4th PS3, so that's now 4 broken consoles in coming up on 5 years. What a bunch of shitty luck. The stupid thing is that they have tons of ventilation, I clean them once a week, there's not a single scratch on any of them, and yet somehow, someway...

Trophy Whore of the Month!

EVERYONE! Since I've started this thing, this past month was..by far..the most combined trophies we have all gathered together(unless I miscounted :P). We(and when I say "we," I mean V) only accomplished 2 platinums, but together we raked in over 520 trophies. Damn.

Also, I want to point out a couple "wars" we have going on that are going to get interesting over the coming months. JB was finally able to overtake cdj for the 3rd spot, but is only 3 trophies away, so that should give them both some incentive to whore some. ALSO, Jeff refuses to be overtaken by the hard charging clw. After back to back months of watching clw climb closer and closer to that 8th spot, Jeff put together his best overall month in terms of number of trophies(again, unless I'm miscounting) and retained 8th.

I don't mind trophies that force you to play the game often and repeatedly, so long as they're something that can be reasonably accomplished in normal gameplay. I actually don't even mind the 2-star program trophy. The Player Lock trophy is really the only one that annoys me, because of the number of things that have to happen in one play for you to get it. It's a lot like the fight for a fumble in the endzone, you're right.

The days where I just go out to try to get a trophy that is completely out of the norm are definitely less than the days I just sit down and play. Games like Gran Turismo 5, I'm never going to get a platinum, no way....but there is the meat of the game that I want to get through and then just get what I get. Games like Saw, Hanna Montana ;), Trivial Pursuit.....games that were a piece of cake to go out of your way to get the platinum, those are the nights I will just sit down and try to get as much as I can.

Yeah, the only time I whore trophies is when I'm almost done with the game(usually because I'm fed up) and just want to try to get all the achievements/trophies to prolong the game. There's other games that I will actively try to get a platinum right from the start just due to the huge challenge it provides, just like in KZ2.

Yeah I'll give it a world. I've also read you cannot do it online either but worth a shot. I figure a few slip screens should make this work in fairly short order. Of course this presumes that PSN ever gets back up and running.

Holy shit, CLW. I have to give you credit for that one. Only took me three plays, lol. I had thought of an idea of how to do it last night, but your suggestion of Slip Screen made it easy.

Here's my setup -- should be easy for anyone to do.

Used default All-American difficulty. Two controllers.
Make your primary profile (in case this matters) LSU, with the second controller Ball State.
For LSU's Defensive Gameplan, set Zone Coverage to Aggressive and Pass Defense to Aggressive.
When Ball State goes on offense, Call Shotgun Ace - HB Slip Screen.
For LSU's defense, call 4-3 Cover 2 Edge.
As you're coming to the line, grab the LSU controller and player lock on Patrick Peterson. Pass Commit.
Take the Ball State controller and run the play. Let the HB float out, and watch Peterson. He should ignore the Split End and play the HB. As he breaks toward the HB, float the ball out there. Peterson will jump the route.
As Peterson's running it back, just stay with the Ball State controller and move guys away from him. Let him waltz in and you get the trophy.


Holy crap that was easy. Peterson picked it on the first play, but my HB was close enough to grab him before I could take control. On the second attempt he bobbled the ball, and the third attempt went all the way.

That's clever. The last 2 years I've just done it this way:

1. Two controllers
2. Pick a cover 2 defense and a streak route on the edge.
3. Move the safety back about 20 yards and to the sideline.
4. Snap the ball and just chuck it deep, all while manually selecting the WR and moving him back.
5. Intercept and run.

I would've gotten it on my first try both years, but the stupid dropped picks got me in both games. I ended up getting it within 3 tries each game though. I'll have to try your setup next year if that stupid trophy is in it.

While PSN is down, I've been going through my back log of games(slowly). I beat SOCOM 4 multiple times. I've since moved on to Dead Nation since I never beat it on the two hardest difficulties. Beat the first one today, and started on the hardest. Holy. Shit. It is completely kicking my ass on a couple levels. At this rate, I'll have the platinum for it in about 5 years. :D

Yep that worked like a charm. Took me 4 plays 2 picks but tackled a dropped pick and then pick 6 for the trophy. There's always at least one other undefeated team in my dynasty the 4 times I've one it and I've never been preseason #1 so I've never been able to go wire-to-wire. I've never been able to blow every team out by 21 either. There's always 2 games a season where my team plays like absolute crap.

I created a Dynasty with all the decent 2-star teams and quickly discovered that the only ones actually capable of recruiting a 5-star are Baylor, Wazzu and Vanderbilt. I saved the Dynasty during the pre-season (before going into Recruiting) and just kept exiting and re-loading the dynasty until I got a decent board. Turns out if you haven't entered Recruiting yet, the prospects re-generate every time. News to me.

Anyway, I ended up taking sole control of Vanderbilt, and had a QB from Alabama on my board. Had it on Varsity or Freshman recruiting difficulty, and it wasn't too difficult. I did take control of the #1 team on his board and make sure they weren't recruiting him though :D

Down to Perfect From the Start Now. 1 Min Qtrs Lowest Difficulty with Alabama and just playing against the #2 team every week should do the trick I hope.

I went to PS3Trophies and they have a Team Builder team with A+ everything and 99 OVR at every position from North Dakota as a 2 Star program. Popped them in created 10 99 OVR QBs and went 60 mins on each each week. Signed two after Week 8.

:smh: this Perfect From The Start Trophy is driving me crazy. I get to week 7 with Alabama #1 problem is #2 Ohio State is playing #3 Wisconsin. I have simmed it multiple times and I always win my game but end up #2 the next week. I then tried playing as Wisconsin and got a 7-0 win only to have Wisconsin leap Alabama in the polls even when they beat a ranked Ole Miss club 38-0.

I think my frustration with this STUPID trophy is going to end my quest today for the Platinum. I'll try again tomorrow and I guess play with every team receiving a 1st place vote and have them lose each week.

I've thought about it, but other than trophies, I don't really need one. So, I truly can't justify buying a new controller just for a trophy. They are like $42 on Amazon right now, which is a great price for them, so maybe I will. The green one looks sweet.

I don't like the co-op trophies, either. It's annoying when it's online co-op, but it's REALLY annoying when the game only has local co-op, like in the case of KZ3. That's just retarded, IMO.

Killzone 3 is relatively easy. Killzone 2 was WAY harder. KZ2 remains one of my hardest platinum trophies I've ever gotten. Beating that game on hard was hard as hell - beating it on Elite was just a nightmare. The AI was so damn good that they just fucked you up repeatedly. Then you have to play online and get all the ribbons, which takes awhile. It was just a truly difficult game to platinum. KZ3 on the other hand, not so much.

Dead Nation is really hard on Grim difficulty. I had to struggle through that as well. Spare Parts is just a horrible game, so it's difficult to play in a whole different sense. :D

There is a trophy for finding all the pieces on Spare Parts that requires both players, so we could do that. We could also do co-op on Dead Nation. Since I have Grim unlocked, you wouldn't even have to play through it on Hard first, and my guns and armor are completely maxed out, so it shouldn't be nearly as hard.

I feel your pain there. I had the same problem. I eventually had to cross check my map with one online - it was under a railroad track I had passed through at least 100 times. 300+ collectibles is entirely too much.

I never collect all the collectables in a game (like the 100 whatevers in all the Assassin Creed games). I don't find the busy work very appealing.

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood actually isn't too bad in terms of collectibles. I just got my very last treasure chests and feathers last night, and just have to get 14 more flags (all in the secret locations). I just worked on the collectibles in sections of the map, and in sections of the game, clearing out a corner of the map, then going and working on some memories in the current sequence, going back and clearing out more, etc. It really cuts down on the feeling of it being busy work.

Now AC1 and AC2, yeah, those were pretty bad. I still have over 100 treasure chests to track down in AC2 (out of 300+ total) and I still have dozens, if not 100+ flags and 40+ Templars to find and kill in AC1. I'll eventually go back and work on getting those completed, if anything, just because I need only the achievements for those flags and Templars and I'll 1k AC1 (have already 1k'ed AC2).

But I also have being an achievement whore in my blood, so I will go out of my way on some games to get an achievement and try and 1k a game, which often includes getting the collectibles in it.

Yeah, I'm the same way. I hate scavenger hunts or similar stuff in real life. But I will track down hundreds of minor crap in a game if doing it all means getting an achievement and 1k'ing a game. The life of an achievement whore. :D

There's a reason I have 0 platinums. I don't really go out of my way for any. I'll take what I can get but until I can receive something tangible for virtual accomplishments, I rather have use what time I do have doing something I enjoy doing.

Yeah,I've been trying to find jobs. I even applied to EA and some other gaming companies besides the ones around where I live. You never know, they may need someone like me soon :).
