Graphics geeks, unite!

So here's my thinking ... here are the situations you need icons for ...

Contains unread posts -- Regular down marker (http://www.scoopgods.com/storage/first_down_marker.jpg) (Colored)
Contains no unread posts -- Regular down marker, black & white
Hot thread with unread posts -- First down marker (http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:First_down_marker.png) (Colored)
Hot thread with no unread posts -- First down marker, black & white. Maybe 4th down?
Thread is closed -- Penalty Flag (http://dsp.imageg.net/graphics/product_images/p2346708p275w.jpg)

Obviously, to look at all professional, these need to be done well and the concepts need converted into icons. I could do it, but it's going to be a few days, at least, before I can grab the time.

So, thought I'd open this up to discussion as well as see if anyone else has the time to do something like this. I'm thinking for the down markers (1st & Regular), that we'd be able to see about the top third of the marker ... so, for the regular, see the circle/target, then far enough down that you can tell it's a marker, not just a target. Hope that makes sense.

I like the idea JHC, all except the ohio st helmet (if thats what it is, the image is gone now) I do have photoshop but havent done any icons, I will look into it and might be able to get something done for this

Yeah, it wasn't specifically to use an Ohio State helmet ... Helmet Project was just the first site I could think of that showed a side helmet view. Emphasis was on the side-shot, not any particular helmet. Honestly the more generic the better ... unless we want to make our own TGT logo.

If you have a skin suggestion I'd be happy to hear it :)I'd be intrigued to try out something with greens and browns ... like a football field. Not sure how well that would work, but if we could make it subtle it might work very nicely. Darker tones.
