It's the most wonderful time of the year!

So I get to take the avatar off when the first game starts, right?

Not much to watch this weekend but that is better than having to watch baseball. Oregon St vs Colorado St should be fun and will be good way to show off their new stadium. Best matchup this weekend is the Richmond/Sam Houston St game. Both teams are top 10 ranked.

I completely forgot about your avatar.

99% of my time on TGT is spent via Tapatalk, so I almost never see avatars anymore and completely forgot you had that. I don't remember if we ever set a date for you to change it back. If it was just until the beginning of the next season or if it was supposed to be a "full" year. Maybe steeler remembers what the terms were.

And yeah, the games this weekend aren't exactly barn burners. Gotta wait until next weekend, the proper first week of college football, to see some good match-ups between top teams, but hell, I'll still be watching all the same! College football is college football and it's finally back, so damn straight I'm going to be watching games this weekend!

And I can finally watch Saturday afternoon games again! The Saturday morning air shift from hell that I've been chained to for the past 9 years, that required me getting up at 3:30 in the morning on Saturday mornings, is finally gone. We automated that bitch a month ago, so I get to sleep all night Friday night/Saturday morning and can actually be rested and awake all day on Saturdays and able to watch the noon games and mid-afternoon games again. I am so damn excited!

We have our first ass whooping of the season as Colorado State puts up 58 points in a 58-27 manhandling of Oregon State.

That is how you open a new stadium. Portland St also hung in there against BYU.

And so it truly begins tomorrow. Move over video games, football is here.

    My watch list and predictions.

    Thursday
Tulsa @ #10 Oklahoma State - People are really high on OSU, this is a good opener to see how prolific that offense is going to be. Oklahoma St wins but it won't be a blowout. (35-21)
#2 Ohio State @ Indiana - How good is Ohio St? This will be a blowout for the Buckeyes (42-10)

    Friday
#8 Washington @ Rutgers - There will be a lot of TD's scored and they will all be by Washington. (56-3)
Navy @ Florida Atlantic - I really want Kiffin to lose more than anything. Navy wins on the road. (24-14)
Colorado State vs Colorado - Colorado is the better team but CSU has a win under their belt. I smell a small upset for CSU. (31-27)

    Saturday
Maryland @ #23 Texas - Texas wont lose this at home. If it was on the road I might side with Maryland but Austin will be happy for at least one week. (24-10)
UTEP @ #7 Oklahoma - No more picking games for OU. Just on the list because it will be on my TV.
#11 Michigan vs #17 Florida - Michigan comes to Texas and overpowers Florida. (21-13)
Temple @ Notre Dame - It is just too easy to take Temple based on last years performance, so I am going to take ND in a squeaker. (28-24)
Appalachian State @ #15 Georgia - Georgia win going away. (35-14)
#3 Florida State vs #1 Alabama - Stick with the smart pick. Bama wins easily. (27-13)
Arkansas State @ Nebraska - Just kidding, we do not have the Big Ten Network. Hopefully Arkansas St can keep it close.
BYU @ #13 LSU - This could put me to sleep based on how BYU looked and how LSU plays offense. LSU by a FG. (12-9)
Montana State @ #24 Washington State - The Pirate can't lose another opener to a FCS team can they? No, but they will struggle. (42-30)

    Sunday
#22 West Virginia vs #21 Virginia Tech - Fun matchup where the last team to score wins. That team is WVU. (31-27)
Texas A&M @ UCLA - Suck it SEC. UCLA for the win. (34-21)

    Monday
#25 Tennessee vs Georgia Tech - Rockyflop. GT wins. (27-14)

I'm interested in the Michigan-Florida game due to Florida season opener win streak.

Florida has won their season opener for a NCAA best 27 years in a row, their last season opening loss coming to Ole Miss to start the 1989 season.

Of those 27 wins, cupcakes galore. Only 2 wins came against Power 5 teams (and one of those two against a SEC team) and none against ranked teams.

Florida also played all 27 games at the Swamp. The last time Florida played a non-conference regular season game outside the state of Florida, a loss at Syracuse back in 1991.

So I'm actually pulling for Michigan to get the win just to see all those streaks come crashing down.

ESPN needs to do these special broadcasts for the Gameday game of the week every week. I love watching the Coaches Film Room.

Right now listening to Mack Brown, Gene Chizik, Les Miles and Mark Helfrich talk Xs and Os about the Ohio State - Indiana game in real time.

I could watch games this way every single week if they offered it.

The Hoosiers giving Ohio State fits in the first half as Indiana holds a surprising 14-13 lead at halftime.

and the second half brings Indiana back down to Earth. That was some SEC speed by a couple of those Ohio St players. Made the Hoosier defense look like it was running in slow motion. It could have been worse than the final score showed (dropped TD pass, etc) but my prediction was close.

Ohio State already in mid-season form when it comes to playing below potential for a half+ of action.

Love having a big match-up in week one like FSU-Bama, but the bad part is someone has to win. The winner will be overhyped by ESPN/media as the untouchable national championship favorite.

Already some surprising results just from the Thursday games.

Connecticut had to outscore Holy Cross 20-0 in the second half to squeak out a 27-20 win. Central Michigan needed three overtimes to edge out Rhode Island. Although it's not much of an upset, we already have our first victim to a FCS team as Tennessee State knocks off Georgia State 17-10. Minnesota struggled with Buffalo and Cincinnati had trouble pulling away from Austin Peay.

Still my most favorite college football hype video ever (even though it's a game trailer)

Some insanity today. In a 6 minute stretch in the second quarter, Maryland and Texas each block a field goal and return both for touchdowns.

And how about that Missouri defense? At halftime, Missouri leads Missouri State 48-35. Already a combined 888 yards of offense in the game. Again, at HALFTIME.

Add a pick six and now a 91 yard punt return for a touchdown for Texas. It's a defensive and special teams showcase in this Maryland-Texas game!

Hmm. I was going to say the other day that this stuff is lame. I do agree that the CFR is the only one to tune in to but, to me, it's lame.

Maybe I haven't given it enough of a chance but it seemed more like Football for Dummies in my brief viewing. I watched 2 or 3 snaps and then changed the channel when Mack Brown said, "explain what a back shoulder pass is".

Like I said though, maybe it actually gets in depth but not with what I saw. It was just fluff. Not Homer Channel (or whatever that gayness is called) but fluff nonetheless.

Tom Herman takes the L. Longhorn fans throwing crap on the field before the game was over.

Did not even make it to the second half at ShaggyBevo.

    http://www.shaggytexas.com/board/sho...re-Tom-Herman?

Giving up 51 points to Maryland at home.
