    College Football 2016 - Week 1

It's here! The start of the college football season has arrived!

    Technically.

For the majority of teams, next week is the official start, however, there is a pair of games this weekend, starting tonight with Hawaii and Cal battling for the Golden Kangaroo in the land down under.

Then tomorrow night it's a FCS affair as Charleston Southern visits North Dakota State, both games airing on ESPN.

Due to these two games taking place tonight and tomorrow, I'm combining them with the "officially official" week 1 that arrives next Thursday.

I took the schedule screenshot as all one entire extended picture, so sort of experimenting here. Let me know if anyone has any problems viewing it on Tapatalk or on a regular computer. If needed, I'll go back to breaking the schedule up into smaller individual screenshots.

Edit - Nevermind, it was showing up pixelated for some reason on Tapatalk, and couldn't be expanded on the full site on my tablet, so i went ahead and broke it down.

In 2005, after Katrina, when Houston was flooded with all of the Katrinites, I wanted to sell bumper stickers that said, "Geaux Home".

Hope you and the Mrs. are well, my friend.

LOL! My college roommate lived in Jackson, MS at the time and we were talking one day after Katrina hit and people were bus and sheltered elsewhere. He was in Wal-Mart at the time so I asked him, "Can you tell the New Orleans people apart when you're out shopping?" He said, "Hell yeah! All these muthafuckas in here stealing and shit! It was a 24-hour store until these bitches got here. Now they close at 12 and they got mad people standing by the door checking receipts. All these fuckers wearing white t-shirts" I couldn't help but laugh and say, "Yep! That's my people!"

I can relate. It was bad. The crime rate in Houston shot through the roof!

A University of Iowa professor is asking for the Department of Athletics to allow the university’s mascot, Herky the Hawk, to display a wider array of facial expressions in university publications.

Classy! Not a Noles fan but I wish him the best of luck. More athletes need to take a page from his playbook. Well done Travis!

Appalachian St is at it again. Tied with the way over hyped Vols in the third quarter. Vanderbilt being the Gamecocks.

    - Tennessee already showing to be over-rated. They got really lucky to recover that fumble in the endzone in OT.

    - So Car rallies to beat Vandy. Not sure whether to be impressed they came back from 10-0 halftime deficit or to ignore it since one team had to win & neither is any good.

    - Or St - Minn is a good one, but again I'm not sure either team is any good.

And lucky that App missed an XP... and App missed a FG... and App had awful clock management to end regulation... and App played not to lose in the 4th quarter...

Appalachian State had their chances and didn't capitalize.

Houston is clearly Big 12 material now.
