Most dialogue ever. More than ME2 and 3 combined.

It sounds as if this game isn't easy so I'm glad about that.

Seeing a lot of complaints about animations and voice sync stuff. For a dialogue heavy game some find the voice sync and dialogue issues so far. Big open world games usually need a couple patches. I may hold off on this game for a bit and dig into HZD. I actually cancelled my pre-order this morning since Amazon starts processing pretty fast for release day shipping. Good early EA Access impressions will honestly push me back into the pre-order but bad ones will push me to playing Horizon first.
Also, the game uses an auto cover system so some people will be annoyed.

Yeah I saw a thread on GAf dedicated to it.
It's like they are summing up the greatness that is EA Glitches in FIFA. Bioware is based out of Canada and the FIFA series is developed by EA Canada. Coincidence?
This would be the one that would bother me most if I was actually going to buy the game. It looks more lifelike and natural in 2007.

Yeah, the facial animations, voice sync and some other animations are really getting hammered. The good news is the combat is generally viewed as good which is big for me. It's almost incredible that the 2007 version looks so much better. That should not happen. Definitely mixed reviews on this game.
This shows a lot of those glitches and issues with the game as well: http://thisgengaming.com/2017/03/15/...-and-glitches/
This is a positive post of the beginnings which compares it positively to DAI (which I liked): Some positive early impressions that compare the game to DAI (which I liked): https://pageturnersinc.wordpress.com...a-no-spoilers/
Safe to say that 10 hour trial on EA Access and Origin might be coming in real handy for some.
So true. I really wish Sony would offer that. At $5 a month (occasionally or $30 a year) it would be well worth it.

Someone went the extra mile.

So, I had no intention of using any of my 10 hours on single player. Well, what had happened was........I was sitting in front of the tv just getting ready to play when my wife walked in, wanting to talk. Not about anything in particular. Just general conversation. Well, I didn't want to be rude so I put YouTube on to play in the background while we conversed. After awhile, a MEA Character Creator video came on and she watched it and gave comments on the player's custom Ryder. After awhile, she said, "Oh, make yours!" So she sat on the couch while we tried to make versions of ourselves as the Ryder twins. Then, she said, "Now you gotta play it to see how they look." So I started the single player campaign. She watched me play the Prologue and then she went to bed. I kept playing. Now I'm at the first open world planet. The game is flat out fun. Fun enough to where I don't notice facial animations. I, personally, haven't seen any jank either. But yeah, the game is fun and as far as I'm concerned, that's far more important than having every animation be pitch perfect.

I'm hearing enough good things about the actual combat and gameplay that I'm still looking forward to this game. But I think I will play HZD first and wait for some patches to iron out things in this game before buying. Not gonna lie, the reviews on Monday could push me back into buying right away.
This straw poll is averaging 8.21 through 240 votes. Sounds about right and the game is supposed to get better as you go.
At the 250-vote mark, the score remains somewhat steady at 8.21/10 https://t.co/mJg4vAljRm

Averaging 75 on Metacritic. Patches may smooth out some rough spots. It does sound like the game should have been delayed to fix some things.

I thought the Gamespot review did a nice job of showing both pros and cons. I think it's overall score is harsh but the message solid.

When I get time, I'll give a more informative opinion. For now, all I can say is that it's fun and I'm enjoying it immensely and I haven't even unlocked my ship and gone to the first open world planet yet.

Ended up getting the game. I only played a little into ME1 so I don't have much of a basis to compare based on the other games.
So far I think the combat is fun, and the animations don't bother me like some marks that would give the game a 0 just because.
The story itself is interesting, I think they did a good job of explaining what the main purpose of the game is and the fact that I'm just barely scratching the surface after about 6 to 8 hours of play.
The dude abides.
