Brace yourselves. Nintendo is releasing a new NES console.

We don’t have many details at the moment other than what Nintendo has said on its social media channels, which is the mini NES Classic Edition will ship on November 11 for $60, and it’ll come with 30 games.

Furthermore, the NES controller can be attached to a wii-mote for use with NES Virtual Console games on the Wii U. And if you own a classic controller or classic controller pro, each of those will work on the NES mini.

The system itself comes packaged with an HDMI cable and a USB cable which powers the console. Additional NES controllers will set you back $10 each.

Only Nintendo would announce this (and get unreal hype/demand) only to not have it available on Amazon to pre-order.

I know! I've typed it in a few times this afternoon since it's coming in four months, but nothing yet.

Loved one of the comments that said "so THIS is the Nintendo NX "

Yeah this is more of a nostalgia buy, I have all the games I could want and more on my Ouya.

Pass. I have an Xbox One controller and a generic PC controller. Can play every game, even hacked ROMS like Tecmo Rose Bowl.

Amazon US has an odd deal with Nintendo where they do not sell most Nintendo hardware first hand. There area couple exceptions with the 3DXL and there was one Mario Kart WiiU system Amazon sold but is on a 4 week backorder.

Had something to do with the Nintendo 3DS and having too many returns on scratched screens.

So do I, but like I said this is more for nostalgia than access to playing games.

I was like you when I was young and had plenty of disposable income.

It looks pretty cool, but no controllers bundled in and I read something that an HDMI power source is also not included.

I'd be more likely to want this if it could also play cartridges. A lot to ask, but still....

So this $60 purchase is now looking more like $100+...

I was in in this when first announced but not sure now. I was hoping they would add games to it over time or like CDJ said play old cartridges. I'll probably just stick with the virtual console on Wii

Ah, must have been some misinformation. Nice to know otherwise now.

Just read that there will be a CRT filter you can apply to make the games look old school. NICE!

Pretty basic option that every emulator has. Wow, scan lines and blur, plus 30 games!
