Rory McIlroy PGA TOUR Free Content Update Details

The following has come from the EA SPORTS website for Rory McIlroy PGA TOUR today which details the upcoming content that will be added to the game. This content will be added for the nice price of FREE. Hit the break to see the details of the blog.

Hey Rory McIlroy PGA TOUR players,

As you know, last month we added the beautiful East Lake Golf Club course free of charge as a thank you to all of our players and in celebration of the TOUR Championship by Coca-Cola. Since then, you’ve shared with us videos of hole-in-ones and other incredible shots you’ve made on the new course. We’re really enjoying seeing just how much fun you’re having on East Lake.

All along the way, we’ve been listening to your feedback and it’s clear that you want more content. So today, we’re excited to share our plans for the additional content that will be released between now and the end of March. This new content will include authentic real-world courses, new golfers, a fantasy course, plus new gameplay modes. And, of course, all of this will be absolutely free, just like the addition of TPC Scottsdale in August and East Lake Golf Club in September.

    Upcoming free content:

    Golfers: Dustin Johnson, Henrik Stenson
    Fantasy Course: Treasure Island
Real-World Courses: Quail Hollow (North Carolina), TPC Stadium at PGA West (California), Oakmont Country Club (Pennsylvania)
New Play Now Modes: Skins, Four Ball, Alternate Shot and Best Ball
We can’t wait to see more videos of you enjoying the game as this new content is added.

There will be additional details about this new free content in the weeks ahead, so please stay tuned to Twitter and Facebook for more information.

    See you on the links!

Still less than a course a month, even if they are free. Would take a big price drop and the option to get rid of the celebrations for me to jump in.

Hey, they could have charged for it if they wanted.

If they felt they could charge for it, they would. EA has never been shy in regards to charging for things post-release. They are trying to get more people to buy the game and hold on to some of the ones who bought it, hence the free part. Maybe the 60 Metacritic had something to do with it? The lack of games modes and courses at launch? Still hoping to see a few things added to the career mode (like a schedule) that are not mentioned. It's good to see they are continuing to add content to the game over the next 5 months. Free is great but there is a reason it is free.

It's been the plan to be free all along. I knew this as of June.

Just saying. But of course some people will never be happy regardless. If they had charged for it, people would be they charged for it. If they give it for free, people will still bitch because they want more. People will bitch regardless. EA gets far more hate and bitching then they deserve. Then you look at 2K, where you can literally buy fucking online wins, and people act like it's some great golden idea. People need to start taking 2K's cock out of the bottom of the throat.

Glad that they appear to be supporting the product despite what must be lack luster sales.

Pretty sure I have seen zero mouths hovering over 2K cocks here at TGT. They only make two sports games for cripes sake and one of those is not even a sport. It's just preaching to choir. Two EA Sports games in my library and zero 2K sports.
