It's only matchday 1 but Blackpool supporters see their club at the top of Football League 1 after a 4-0 demolition at MK Dons who were relegated from the Football League Championship after last season.

While supporters are exuberant with the style and pace former Millwall boss Neil Harris has brought to the Seasiders, there is concern that loanee Rushian Hepburn-Murphy will only be with 'Pool on a short-term loan. Hepburn-Murphy was brilliant in his Saturday debut for the club, needing just 9 minutes to open his account en route to a 4-goal performance.

Harris' former club, Millwall, we're 2-0 winners at Walsall.

Blackpool have agreed to send 18-year-old GK Myles Boney to Carlisle United on a 2-year loan.

After falling behind 3-1 on Saturday in a driving rain at Bloomfield Road, Blackpool had to scramble to share the spoils with Yeovil Town as an 86th minute goal from League 1's top scorer, Rushian Hepburn-Murphy, put the sides on level terms at 3-3.

RB Felix Passlack suffered a bruised shoulder and is day-to-day but is expected to miss Tuesday's first round Football League Trophy tie with Newport County.

Traveling Blackpool supporters agonized through a grueling win at Newport County in the first round of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy on Tuesday. A combination of injury and fatigue from the recent fixture pileup forced the Tangerines to a penalty shootout after regulation ended with a 1-1 scoreline.

Blackpool were victorious in the shootout 5-4 and will visit Shrewsbury Town on Saturday as League 1 action resumes.

    Spoiler: show

A quiet deadline day passed on Wednesday as Blackpool did not participate in the more than £52 million that were spent across all leagues.

David Norris scored his first League 1 goal of the season, which was his 6th across all competitions, when his 18-yard blast in stoppage time deflected off of a Preston North End defender's leg, looped over a second defender, past the outstretched hand of the keeper and just inside the right post.

The goal drew Blackpool level and resulted in the club's 4th consecutive draw in league play as the West Lancashire Derby finished 1-1.

RB Felix Passlack suffered a knee sprain and is expected out 3 weeks, while RM Brad Potts will miss about a week after enduring a leg bruise.

    Spoiler: show

The Seasiders will host Doncaster Rovers at Bloomers on Saturday before Premier League leaders Manchester City visit midweek in the 3rd Round of the Capital One Cup.

With a career record of 9-2-3 in domestic cup matches, Neil Harris has made a name for himself. Add to that a couple of Premier League scalps with his Millwall side taking down Crystal Palace and Newcastle United last season and Harris has an impressive cup resume.

Those accomplishments cannot be dismissed but taking on Manchester City, one of the richest clubs in the world and a club that is currently 2nd in all of England, is a completely different matter.

City visited Bloomfield Road on Wednesday night and completely dominated from the opening kickoff, in a driving rain. However, poor finishing from City, a few fantastic saves from Colin Doyle and a fortunate strike from Capital One Cup goal scoring leader David Norris lifted Blackpool to an unlikely giant-killing, 1-0.

It is the biggest win in the career of most everyone on the Seasiders roster, including manager Neil Harris.

Blackpool will visit Huddersfield Town on Saturday as League 1 action resumes.

A bit of a letdown after the win over Manchester City as Blackpool draw 2-2 away to Huddersfield Town.

In other news, Millwall dropped points for the first time this season, losing 1-0 at Shrewsbury Town and Colin Doyle was rewarded with a 1 year contract extension and a pay raise.

Blackpool avoided massive embarrassment with 3 goals in less than 25 minutes, including a brace in the span of 3 minutes from super sub Jack Redshaw. The Seasiders had fallen behind Yeovil Town, who are winless in League 1 and bottom of the table, 3-1 before salvaging a last gasp winner for a 4-3 result in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.

    Spoiler: show

Up next, back to league play and Notts County.

A scoreless draw with Coventry City in which LM Henry Cameron suffered a bruised shoulder. Cameron will miss Saturday's clash with Luton Town at Bloomfield Road. The Tangerines will, however, will have both Jose Miguel Cubero and Mark Cullen available for selection as they are now match fit.

    Spoiler: show

Saturday's match will feature the clubs who are currently sitting 12th and 13th in the league table and Blackpool have gone 5 straight in the league without taking maximum points, making for a big match for the home side.
