Chelsea earned a huge 3 points in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night, beating Turkish side Besiktas JK by a 3-0 margin. Cesc Fabregas opened the scoring by punching one in from 8 yards after the keeper spilled a Diego Costa blast in the 37th minute. Eden Hazard converted from the spot in the 59th minute and Didier Drogba rounded out the night with an 11 yard shot that went in low off of the right post in stoppage time.

Twice Chelsea fell behind Sunderland on Saturday and twice Oscar equalized for the Blues as Chelsea played to a 2-2 draw with the Black Cats at the Stadium of Light on Saturday.

Oscar's first goal came in the 20th minute, a side footer from 7 yards after Jack Rodwell scored in the 6th minute to put Sunderland on top. Rodwell struck again in the 64th minute but Oscar matched his brace with a 10 yard blast just one minute later.

Perhaps the biggest news of the day came in the 58th minute. John Terry jumped high to challenge for the ball near the center line and came down awkwardly. The Chelsea captain immediately grabbed his left knee and had to be removed from the game. An MRI later revealed that Terry had torn his anterior cruciate ligament. Terry will likely miss the remainder of the season leaving some to wonder if the 33-year-old has played his last football for the West London club. Terry is currently on a one year contract with the Blues.

With Terry out 7 months, I'm going to have to blow my budget replacing him in January.

That was my top priority anyway because he is old and Cahill is in the last year of his deal as well. I only have about 19 million pounds left in the budget with 243k in wages. I'm not sure I'll get a long term replacement for that. I was hoping to replace one this Winter and one in the Summer or even re-sign Cahill (or Terry for a year) and get a young guy.

If all of this fails in January, I may fork over the 280k to recall Tomas Kalas from his loan at FC Koln. As we speak, I've moved Ivanovic to Terry's spot and have Azpilicueta and Felipe Luis as my FBs. Nothing wrong with that lineup but it gets dicey if any of my back line is out. As we speak, my subs are CB/RB Kurt Zouma (74 OVR) and CB/CDM Nathan Ake (69 OVR).

This time out, a draw must feel pretty good for Chelsea. The Blues traveled to St. James' Park on Saturday with hopes of 3 points. After 45 minutes, the visitors seemed headed for defeat, with a 2-0 deficit. However, Eden Hazard sparked a furious second half charge and his side escaped with a 2-2 result.

In the 64th minute, Hazard fed a through ball to Filipe Luis who came screaming up the pitch into the left side of the box. From there, Luis calmly finessed his shot over Tim Krul and into the right side of the net to cut the Magpies lead in half. With 5 minutes to go, Oscar was pulled down in the penalty area and Hazard slotted the ensuing penalty kick into the top left corner for level pegging.

Chelsea face a do-or-die UEFA Champions League match on Tuesday night at Veltins-Arena in Gelsenkirchen. With a win, Chelsea is through to the Round of 16 and could even win Group G. A draw could get them through, but could also relegate them to the Europa League Round of 32. A loss would mean either the Europa League or the end of Chelsea's European campaign.

Chelsea earned their biggest win of the season on Tuesday night in Germany when they beat FC Schalke 04 to get through to the UEFA Champions League Round of Sixteen. The win, combined with Sporting CP's 2-1 result against Besiktas JK, made Chelsea the winners of Group G. Chelsea, along with Sporting, advance in the competition while Besiktas will join the UEFA Europa League for its round of 32. Schalke is done in European competitions for the season.

The match was won in the 50th minute. Cesc Fabregas fed a through ball to Diego Costa in the right side of the box. Costa stepped over the ball to allow the defenders momentum to carry him out of the way and then left-footed the ball into the top right corner of the net. With the result still in doubt, Oscar was brutally taken down in the box in the 74th minute by Schalke's Jefferson Farfan. Farfan was sent off and Oscar Chelsea were awarded a penalty. Eden Hazard failed to convert and the Blues were forced to hold on for a 1-0 victory.

Chelsea (4-8-2) will return to Premier League action on Saturday when the play Hull City (3-3-8) at Stamford Bridge.

It took until mid-December but Chelsea finally hit on all cylinders on Saturday in snowy conditions at Stamford Bridge, beating Hull City 4-0. For the Tigers, it was their seventh consecutive defeat. Oscar and Diego Costa starred for the Blues along with Thibaut Courtois who kept a clean sheet.

Oscar scored a goal and added an assist while also drawing a penalty which was converted by Costa who recorded his first hat trick for Chelsea.

The West Londoners (5-8-2) will visit Stoke City (5-4-6) next Saturday. Chelsea also learned that they have drawn to play January 10th at Football League 2 side Bury in the 3rd of the Football Association Challenge Cup (FA Cup).

In a late 4 minute stretch Chelsea salvaged a match that they looked destined to lose. Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho pointed directly at the officiating in his post match conference when asked why his team struggled in the rain at Britannia Stadium on Saturday. "I can't understand how they (Stoke City) make so many tackles in the match without fouls. Apparently they are an even better side than I gave them credit. Congratulations to them. And also congratulations to the match official (Phil Dowd). He had something he wanted to accomplish today and he was brilliant with his game. He had a very good game and he was seen on the television cameras quite often, I'm sure," Mourinho said with an overtone of sarcasm.

Mourinho was referring to the fact that made just 9 clean challenges on the day while drawing 7 fouls and 5 yellow cards, In contrast, the Potters were called for just 3 fouls with no bookings while being credited for 31 tackles. "In my years I have not seen such disparity in the defensive side; so congratulations to Stoke for this performance and also to the official for the good day that he has had," Mourinho added.

When Bojan put a deflected shot past Chelsea keeper Thibaut Courtois in the 59th minute, it appeared to be a lost cause for Chelsea. But Spain, international and newly-minted Premier League golden boy, Diego Costa took a pass from Oscar in the 74th minute and unleashed a venomous right footer from the 18 yard line into the top left corner of the net to pull the Blues level. Just 4 minutes later, Oscar was tripped in the box and Chelsea were awarded a penalty. Oscar has been the beneficiary of numerous such calls this season and Eden Hazard slotted one in from the spot to give Chelsea the lead and, eventually a 3-point result with a 2-1 win.

The Blues (6-8-2) will play Tottenham Hotspur (10-2-3) on Tuesday at Stamford Bridge. Spurs are currently 3rd in the Premier League table, 4 points behind the leaders - Manchester United. Chelsea are 7th, one point from a Europa League spot and 3 from a Champions League position.

Chelsea were a man up from the 42nd minute on after Nacer Chadli was sent off with a second bookable offense but could not slip one past Hugo Lloris, setting for a 0-0 draw with Spurs at Stamford Bridge.

Nemanja Matic was removed from the pitch after suffering what the club is calling a "bruised elbow" after a lunging attempt to head a cross found him under a Tottenham defender. Matic is expected to miss the upcoming Boxing Day clash with West Ham United at Stamford Bridge and could miss Sunday's match at Southampton as well as the New Year's Day visit to White Hart Lane for a rematch with Spurs.

Jose Mourinho said that he expects Matic out for 7-10 days.

The British media are reporting that Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel is upset with his lack of matches this season. Sky Sports reported that Mikel stated recently, "I just want to play football, be that for Chelsea or someone else." The reports went on to say that Mikel denied the rumors that there is a rift between himself and boss Jose Mourinho and that Mikel is only looking to see his name on the team sheet more frequently.

Mikel, 27, has appeared in just 3 matches for the Blues this season, including 2 in the Premier League and the Capital One Cup loss to Everton. He may get his wish soon as the injury to Nemanja Matic figures to see Mikel dressing on match days until his return.

We'll keep a close eye on that situation as well as veteran goalkeeper Petr Cech's situation. Cech, who has been supplanted by Thibaut Courtois this season, figures to be sought be numerous European giants during the upcoming January transfer window. Cech, 32, has only appeared once for Mourinho - in the loss to Everton in the Capital One Cup.

News is also circulating that Chelsea are in negotiations with Oscar on a new contract to keep the Brazilian at Stamford Bridge. Oscar, 23, is only under contract through the remainder of the season (along with John Terry and Gary Cahill) and the club wants to avoid the midfielder fielding offers to leave in expiry as the calendar flips to 2015.

The Chelsea supporters were treated to a Boxing Day treat on Friday as a barrage of goals from the Blues buried the East London visitors from West Ham, 7-2. Playing several substitutes, Chelsea got a pair of hat tricks. Loic Remy scored his first 3 Premier League goals for the Blues (he had 1 goal in the Champions League) and Andre Schurrle, on the strength of 2 penalty conversions, had a hat trick of his own.

Chelsea (7-9-2) will look to keep their purple patch in tact when they travel to Saint Mary's Stadium for a clash with Southampton (6-4-7) on Monday. Chelsea have climbed to 5th in the league table, while the Saints are currently 12th.

In related news, reports have surfaced that Oscar has rejected a second contract offer from Chelsea though negotiations are "ongoing and have not broken down" according to a club source.

At a rainy St. Mary's Stadium, Chelsea found themselves in a dogfight with Southampton. Despite controlling the pace Chelsea could not separate themselves and the Saints were in the match to the final whistle, with the Blues prevailing 1-0.

The match's lone goal came in the 21st minute. After Diego Costa won a free kick in the final third, Eden Hazard curled a brilliant free kick from thirty yards. Hazard's blast went just beyond the reach of a diving Fraser Forster and into the left side of the net. The biggest defensive play was turned in by Branislav Ivanovic around the hour mark. After Petr Cech got a piece of a driven shot, the ball caromed high and was heading for the Chelsea net when Ivanovic performed a scintillating bicycle kick to clear the ball off the goal line. Goal Line Technology later showed that Ivanovic had indeed saved his keeper's clean sheet.

Chelsea have announced that they have reached an agreement with Oscar on a new contract that will pay the Brazilian midfielder 140k Pounds per week. The new contract keeps Oscar with the club through the 2017-18 season.

On Thursday, Chelsea (8-9-2) visit Tottenham Hotspur (10-4-4) at White Hart Lane. With a win, the Blues could jump Spurs and move into 3rd in the table. The two sides played to a scoreless draw at Stamford Bridge on December 23. Thursday also marks the opening of the Winter Transfer Period.

Just a note about sliders. I haven't screwed with them at all since November and my results have been good. They have been varied as well. I had a 7-2 win over West Ham that was sandwiched between a 0-0 draw with Spurs and a 1-0 win over Southampton in which the only goal came on a free kick. I think I'm completely settled now so I'll post what I'm currently using later today by updating the second post in this thread.

EDIT: All Settings and Sliders have been updated in the second post of this thread to reflect what I am currently using.
