Despite being outplayed and, largely, outclassed on Tuesday night at Stamford Bridge Chelsea were able to claim a 2-2 draw with Spain's Real Madrid. Marco Reus starred for the Blues scoring an astonishing header into the top right corner just minutes before half time and then converting from the penalty spot in the 65th minute. Reus, however, misfired with his chance to win the game in stoppage time when he hit the right post on a second penalty opportunity.

Chelsea striker Diego Costa suffered a sprained ankle in the 49th minute and was eventually lifted in favor of Loic Remy in the 51st. Costa could be sidelined for up to a month, according to manager Jose Mourinho.

Chelsea will visit Macron Stadium on Saturday as they play in the FA Cup's Round of 16 against League Championship side Bolton Wanderers. Bolton are currently 11th in England's second-tier division.

    CFC Goal: Oscar 32'
    CFC Assist: E. Hazard
    CFC Bookings: Oscar (Y) 79', Matic (Y) 79'

Despite the close scoreline, Chelsea were never really threatened in their 1-0 win over Bolton at Macron Stadium in the 5th Round of the FA Cup. Oscar scored the match's only goal in the 32nd minute, taking a feed from Eden Hazard and beating the keeper on the short side from an unlikely angle. Despite the win, Chelsea suffered 2 devastating injuries.

Marco Reus sprained an ankle in the 3rd minute and Loic Remy sprained a knee in the 52nd. Both players are expected out for a month. With Diego Costa already sidelined with an ankle injury, the Blues are left with Connor Wickham, who joined the club on transfer from Sunderland last Summer, as the side's only true striker.

The league-leading Blues (17-5-4) will visit clash with sixth-placed Manchester United (12-9-5) on Tuesday night at Stamford Bridge. The clubs have played three times this season with each winning one, including Chelsea's 5-0 win at Old Trafford in the 2nd Leg of their Capital One Cup Semi Final pairing.

Chelsea were able to grind out a 2-0 result over Manchester United at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night by putting men behind the ball, controlling possession and capitalizing on the opportunities that they did create. The Blues have now won 9 consecutive games in the Premier League and are unbeaten in their last 16 across all competitions.

Chelsea will have their first shot at silverware since winning the UEFA Europa League in May 2013 when they play Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley Stadium on Sunday in the final of the Capital One Cup. In two previous meetings this season, Chelsea were 4-1 winners at Stamford Bridge on November 11 and were 1-0 winners at White Hart Lane on January 3.

Connor Wickham beat Spurs' keeper Hugo Lloris with a header in the 80th minute on Sunday at Wembley Stadium and Chelsea lifted their first silverware since May 2013, beating Tottenham 1-0 in the Final of the Capital One Cup.

Chelsea (18-5-4) will visit Emirates Stadium on Saturday to face Arsenal (7-13-7) in a second consecutive London Derby with a North London side. This derby will not have an addition to the trophy cabinet for the winner, but Chelsea are hopeful that the points they earn can push them toward winning the league in May.

Chelsea needed a penalty conversion by Lucas Piazon and an Own Goal by Arsenal's Aaron Ramsey to claim a 2-1 win in North London, against the Gunners on Saturday. The Blues have won 10 consecutive matches in the Premier League and have gone 18 straight without a loss across all competitions.

That run of form will face a severe test on Wednesday night as Chelsea visits Real Madrid at Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in the 2nd Leg of their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 cup tie. The sides played to a 2-2 draw in the 1st Leg at Stamford Bridge on February 16.

Chelsea served notice to the rest of Europe on Wednesday night in Madrid that the Blues are not to be taken lightly in their quest to become European Champions. A dominating 4-0 win over Real Madrid put Chelsea through to the UEFA Champions League Quarter Finals on aggregate, 6-2. The win was very costly however, as Chelsea lost wide man Eden Hazard in the 36th minute to a broken ankle. Hazard is expected to miss 3 months and, of course, the remainder of the 2015-16 season.

The Blues will visit Goodison Park on Sunday where they will play in the Quarter Finals of the FA Cup against Everton. The Toffees were 2-1 winners at Stamford Bridge on the opening day of the Premier League, August 17, in the only previous meeting between the sides. They are slated to meet again at Goodison, in the Premier League, on April 2.

Chelsea were the better side throughout Tuesday night's match at Stamford Bridge with French side Marseille. However, the heavy shot total advantage did not produce a result for the Blues and it took a late Loic Remy goal to escape the first Chelsea loss in 22 matches as the sides played to a 2-2 draw. The positive for Chelsea is that, in the Round of 16, they played to a 2-2 draw at the Bridge with Spanish giants Real Madrid before winning 4-0 in Spain.

Chelsea have signed youth squad player Abdoulaye Ankrah, a 16-year-old from Ivory Coast, to their senior squad. Ankrah (54 OVR) is an attacking midfielder and will be paid 500 pounds per week through the 2018-19 season, under the terms of the contract. Expect him to be made available for loan at the earliest opportunity.

Chelsea will open the month of April on Saturday with another visit to Goodison Park. Chelsea (20-5-4) were 2-0 winners over Everton (17-6-6) on that very ground just 20 days earlier in the Quarter Finals of the FA Cup.

Chelsea tied a club record on Saturday with their 23rd consecutive match without a loss, something the Blues have done on 2 other occasions in their 111 year history. The result was a 2-1 win at Goodison Park over 3rd placed Everton and was earned when Toffee defender John Stones scored an Own Goal in the 85th minute, breaking a 1-1 tie.

The Blues will play a critical match in the Champions League on Wednesday night in southeastern France, as they attempt to establish a new club record. Chelsea will clash with Marseille in the 2nd leg of their Quarter Final tie, with the aggregate score at 2-2 after last Tuesday night's draw at Stamford Bridge.

In other Chelsea news, defender Tomas Kalas, who has been asking the club for a contract extension, has reportedly turned down a 2-year extension and is seeking an extension of at least 3 years. The 22-year-old Czech (75 OVR) joined the club in the Summer of 2010, just after his 17th birthday, and has made 25 appearances for Chelsea, including 17 in the Premier League, for the West London club during this campaign.

Roma 1:2 PSG (PSG advance on Aggregate, 4-1)

Note: Wayne Rooney of Manchester United, who is currently second in the Premier League with 13 goals just behind Nabil Ghilas of Newcastle United (14) and just ahead of Chelsea's Diego Costa (12), suffered a torn quadriceps muscle in United's 3-1 win over Watford on Sunday and will likely miss the remainder of the season.

    Celtic update for jaymo:

Celtic crashed out of the Champions League before Christmas, finishing 3rd in Group B behind Bayern Munich and Marseille and ahead of Zenit St. Petersburg. From there, they immediately crashed out of Europe altogether, losing in the Europa League's Round of 32 to Napoli on Aggregate, 4-1. Napoli would go on to eliminate 1899 Hoffenheim in the Round of 16 (2-1 Aggregate) and then lost the first leg of their ongoing Quarter Final tie with Valencia CF, 2-0. The second leg is scheduled for April 7 in Spain.

Both Bayern Munich and Marseille, Celtic's Champions League group partners, advanced to that competition's Quarter Finals. After beating Tottenham (3-2 Aggregate) in the Round of 16, Bayern were eliminated by FC Barcelona (4-3 Aggregate) in the Quarters. Marseille were winners (3-2 Aggregate) over Bayer 04 Leverkusen in the Round of 16 and are currently level (2-2) with Chelsea FC in the Quarter Finals.

Domestically, Celtic have won the 50th title in the top flight of Scottish football (currently the Scottish Premiership) in their history as they have a 19 point lead over second-placed Aberdeen with 5 matches remaining. By winning the Premiership title, Celtic have qualified for the 2016-17 UEFA Champions League.

Chelsea ran their Premier League winning streak to 13 on Saturday with a thrilling 3-2 win over Newcastle United as Loic Remy came off the bench to provide the difference-maker in the 90th minute. The Blues are digging deep into their bench and reserves as success in multiple competitions has caused a fixture pile-up. Chelsea will play 8 matches in 26 days this month, with 3 of those behind them already. Over the next 15 days, the West Londoners have 5 matches including 3 cup semifinal matches so relief is not forthcoming.

On Wednesday, Chelsea (22-5-4) will host Sunderland (9-9-14) at Stamford Bridge in another Premier League clash. The Blues top the table with 71 points and have an 8-point advantage over second-placed Tottenham, with a game in hand.

Chelsea's run of 13 consecutive wins in the Premier League came to an end on Wednesday night at Stamford Bridge, but a 1-1 draw with Sunderland continued the Blues club record run of matches without a loss across all competitions. That streak has reached 26 matches and will be tested on Saturday at Wembley Stadium.

Chelsea will clash with Aston Villa in the Semi Finals of the FA Cup on Saturday. The West London side has already lifted the Capital One Cup this season, they lead the Premier League table and will compete in the Semi Finals of the UEFA Champions League later this month.

Chelsea were 2-0 winners in Germany on Tuesday night over Borussia Dortmund as the Blues, who were the beneficiaries of a bizarre Own Goal, took a big step toward securing a spot in the UEFA Champions League Final for the second time in 4 years.

Full Back Todd Kane (69 OVR) has agreed to a new contract with Chelsea that will pay the 22-year-old England boy 10,000 pounds per week and ties him to the club through the 2019-20 season.
