In the interest of not caring to play my Friendlys, I decided to sim them. For the first 2 I will use a squad of reserves and bench players, in the last one I will let my Starting XI have a go.

    Chelsea 1:2 Evian
    CFC goal: Salah 40'

    Bordeaux 1:0 Chelsea
Loic Remy missed a penalty in the 32nd minute

    Chelsea 4:1 Lyon
CFC goals: Ivanovich 14', Hazard 36', Costa 53', Oscar 78'
Eden Hazard missed a penalty in the 54th minute
Gary Cahill was sent off in the 49th minute with his second bookable offense.

With the preseason complete, it's time to move on to the regular campaign. Here is the fixture schedule for the remainder of August 2014:

    16th Burnley (Away) EPL
    23rd Leicester City (Home) EPL
    27th Swansea City (Home) EPL
    31st Everton (Away) EPL

For the first 20 minutes of Saturday's Premier League opening clash between European giants Chelsea and newly-promoted Burnley, it was the small club who looked the better side. However, fouls, bookings, a penalty and horrid finishing eventually brought Burnley back to earth as Chelsea prevailed, 3-0 at Turf Moor.

Eden Hazard opened the scoring in the 23rd minute with a blistering penalty conversion into the top left corner of the net. Willian, who came on after Oscar departed with an injury, netted a rebound in the 31st minute to put the Blues in command. Burnley center back Jason Shackell was sent off in the 41st minute after his second bookable offense produced a red card, allowing the West Londoners to ease through the rest of the match.

In the second half Kieran Trippier was shown a straight red card after pulling Willian down by the shirt at the edge of the penalty area in the 65th minute. It didn't take long for Diego Costa to open his Chelsea account with a smashing drive from 14 yards in the 70th minute.

In his post match press conference Manager Jose Mourinho said that Oscar had suffered a bruised shoulder and that he expects the Brazilian to be fit for Chelsea's next outing. Chelsea will host Leicester City, another club freshly promoted from the Football League Championship, next Saturday at Stamford Bridge.

Sloppy conditions led to sloppy play at Stamford Bridge on Saturday as Chelsea had to rely on a late penalty to avoid a loss to the visitors from Leicester.

After falling behind in the 16th minute, the Blues equalized in first half stoppage time on a header from Diego Costa. Costa put the ball in from an Andre Schurrle cross from the right wing and Chelsea were level at 1-1 at the break.

Captain John Terry was called for a penalty on a poor challenge that led to a spot kick for the Foxes at a 2-1 Leicester lead after 72 minutes. However, 10 minutes later it was Eden Hazard scoring from the spot after Diego Costa was tripped just inside the area leading to a penalty kick. With the score level at 2, Costa belted a 17 yard drive off of the crossbar in stoppage time and Leicester held on for the draw.

Chelsea (1-1-0) will host Swansea City (1-0-1) on Wednesday at 3:00 PM. Swans are coming off of a 2-0 win over Burnley, a week after losing 3-0 at the Theater of Dreams.

The rain in West London continued on Wednesday night as Chelsea played host to Swansea City at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea earned their second win, and first on their home ground, with a 2-1 result.

Diego Costa scored the first Blues goal by heading in a Cesar Azpilicueta early cross in the 8th minute and he assisted on the game winner by setting up Willian in the 71st minute. Willian, who came on for Oscar at the beginning of the second half, blasted the ball past the keeper from 14 yards.

Chelsea (2-1-0) will visit the blue half of Merseyside on Sunday as they travel to Goodison Park to face Everton (0-1-1).

Unfortunately, I forgot to grab a screen of the stats before I exited. I do remember that Swans had 52% possession and that shots were even at 13. Also, the only booking was a Yellow handed out to Swans.

Chelsea were hard done on Sunday at Goodison Park when an 87th minute equalizer by Everton's Leon Osman resulted in a 1-1 draw.

The Toffees had controlled most of the action but could not find their finishing touch until late on. Chelsea's Summer signing-sensational Diego Costa scored his 4th goal of the season in the 17th minute after redirecting a screaming Oscar ground cross from 4 yards to give the Blues the lead they would eventually surrender.

Costa suffered a sprained ankle late in the first half and was replaced by Loic Remy for the second stanza. Early reports have Costa missing about 3 weeks which will mean that he will not join Spain foe the upcoming international break and his status is uncertain when Chelsea return to action on Tuesday, September 16 in a Champions League group stage match against Besiktas.

Notes: After facing former Chelsea striker Samuel Eto'o in thier last match (Romelu Lukaku did not feature for Everton), the Blues will face another former forward when Demba Ba returns to Stamford Bridge as part of the Besiktas JK side. In this Champions League group stage match Ba will hope to repeat the heroics he enjoyed in the European competition last year. Ba's late goal lifted Chelsea past PSG in the quarter finals of last season's Champions League.

Chelsea announced that they have added 16-year-old Nicky Hugill (56-72 OVR, 83-94 POT) to their Youth Academy.

Eden Hazard tucked home a deflected cross from 7 yards in the 13th minute and then teamed with Loic Remy in the dying embers of stoppage time to lift Chelsea to a 2-0 win over Besiktas JK in their Champions League opener on Tuesday night at Stamford Bridge.

Hazard and Remy caught Besiktas, who had sold out in an effort to pull level late, and countered. Flying into the box from the left, Hazard fed a pass across the area to Remy who one-touched a bullet in from 8 yards to seal the points for the Blues.

Chelsea (2-2-0) will return to Premier League action on Saturday when they visit Etihad Stadium and the defending champions Manchester City (2-1-1).

Chelsea conceded twice inside of the quarter hour mark and never recovered, suffering a humiliating 4-0 loss at Etihad Stadium to Manchester City on Saturday. The Citizens completely controlled every facet of the match from the outset and showed the Blues that they still have some title winning capabilities.

Branislav Ivanovich suffered a sprained ankle late in the first half and is likely to miss 2-3 weeks.

On Wednesday Chelsea will host Everton, an unlucky draw for each side, in the Capital One Cup.

Jose Mourinho made a clear statement, with his lineup on Wednesday night, as to where Chelsea's priorities lie this season. With several, eight to be exact, of his usual XI either on the bench or not dressed, Mourinho made it known that Chelsea was aiming for Premier League and Champions League glory - not for League Cup fame. Despite a furious comeback after Everton were short a man on a Leon Osman straight red card, Chelsea lost 4-3 in extra time at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea trailed 3-0 before late goals by Didier Drogba, Andre Schurrle and Cesc Fabregas knotted the score and forced the extra football.

Following consecutive losses across all competitions, Chelsea (2-2-1) will face Aston Villa (1-0-4) at Stamford Bridge on Saturday as they resume play in the Premier League.

Diego Costa equalized in the 69th minute with a venomous laser into the top right corner and Chelsea spent the final 20 minutes putting high stress on the Villa goal. However, Willian missed the gaping net from short range minutes after Costa's leveling tally and he rang a volley off the post in stoppage time as Aston Villa held on for a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge. The result was the Blues third straight without a win since dispatching Besitkas JK in their Champions League opener.

Chelsea, the Group G leaders after match day 1, will travel to Lisbon on Wednesday to face Sporting CP in Europe's top club competition.
