Well, since you asked. Plan to watch some porn before going to bed. I find that a good servicing makes me sleep much better. Lesbian porn is typically my go to. Not really into the tribbing thing. I need the rugs to be munched. Tomorrow is Thursday so I will be ready for some college football. Trying to decide what is next on the watch list after the games are finished for the night. British shows are generally much higher quality than American TV. Finished up the Inspector Lewis series and once again the Brits do not disappoint. Based in Oxford and an extension of the Inspector Morse series, in which Lewis served under Morse. Finally got around to purchasing Game of Thrones season 5. Should be next on my viewing list but I may shake things up and binge watch Curb Your Enthusiasm.

That's really all for now. Can update you guys on how the porn thing went but will probably just hold off until Friday after I have played the game and stick to that. Better to stay on topic, although it is important that we discuss things like men's health. An Australian study found that men who ejaculated more than five times a week were a third less likely to develop prostate cancer.

Okay got to play for a few hours and it's pretty much what was expected. Expect a lot of story, find "x" to move forward, jump scare, more story and QTE, QTE, QTE.

That said the part I like about the game is that you can play it so many different ways. Just messing around with the 'butterfly effect" you can be the worlds biggest cockblocker on the planet. Going to try to save everyone on the first run through but I have already tinkered with a few relationships so that may not be possible. Then on the second run, have everyone hate each other and kill em all off.

    Pros so far:

It's a really nice looking game.
You are given the option of standard or motion controls. Not a big fan of motion controls and slinging a controller around.
Butterfly effect will make you want to play it more than once.

    Cons so far:

Look for shinny things and click "X." Way to easy early on to progress the story, as clues are impossible to miss. Hopefully there will be a little more adventure in finding items to progress the story, including the little totems/clues/collectibles.
The camera can be a bit of a distraction. It has a mind of it's own, flips around as you move into different areas and in most cases places you a good distance away. They did the last part to give a sense that you are constantly being watched but I find it annoying.
Two things are painfully aware to anyone who watches horror movies. The identity of the killer and what the reviews have already spoiled by stating the second half of the game goes "out there" and "takes away from the first half of the game." I have not seen any footage beyond where my character is, so this is still speculation, with a probability of 99.99% success. Spoilered to prove I was right once I get to the end.

    Spoiler: show
Josh - and there will be some crazy Indian supernatural aspect turning it from a slasher to something completely different.

Midway through chapter 5 of 10. I am scrounging around all the nooks and crannies for collectibles, so maximum time put in the first play through. Still expecting it to run under 10 hours. Everything is pretty linear, outside of the small branches in the path or side rooms where you will find the totems.

Looks like my 99.99% success rate for determining the killer was not quite as successful as expected. I hate when that happens.

Don't look at the spoiler above because I nailed it, both categories. Thank you generic horror movie plot twist for saving my ass. I now understand why most reviewers disliked the second half of the game. It went from me trying to find every little clue to just trying to finish the game.

Saved 5 out 8. One of the deaths was due to missing a QTE after picking the wrong way to climb up. The second was a decision on my part. It was an attempt to save someone, that ended up surviving anyway. Some things are not meant to be opened. Third one died because one of the other characters did not find a particular clue. So the butterfly effect was involved with one death, my reflexes one and decision making one. All were fair but there could easily be some excess deaths for those with slow reflexes and lack a steady hand. Still impressed with the butterfly system but once you know how it works and the mistakes you made, it makes a second play through less desirable. Just knowing the mistakes I made, saving 8 out of 8 would be a snap, outside of the 6 to 8 hours having to repeat everything. Not to mention that you can't skip any cut-scenes on future play troughs or just redoing a chapter after completing a game. Felt like a pretty big omission to leave it out. Some of the cut-scenes are going to be repeats no matter what decisions you make and overall the story just isn't that great, even for a horror movie.

Will just watch youtube videos to see the other endings and scenarios.

7.5 out of 10 and that was mostly due it being a nice looking horror game with a few good ideas. Deduct a point if you find games like Heavy Rain boring and could care less about the horror genre.

Is it worth the retail $59.99 price? No.
Was it worth the $35 I paid for it after using my credit? Barely, due to not planning another play through.

    Thanks, Brent.

I will definitely hold off til it drops below $25 as a download, if I ever but it at all.

I loved Heavy Rain but this does not sound like it is up to that game's standards at all.

Still have not finished this one got through another chapter today (little man right now isn't allowing for long blocks of game playing). However - thus far I REALLY am enjoying this one. The story is getting a little sci-fi ish but the gameplay is so...... good.

I REALLY hope they make another one of these (obviously not the same characters - but the same "genre" slasher/teen movie story)

Might be awhile - as I understand it - Sony is thinking about pushing this game a bit b/c it caught them by surprise how well it was critically received and has sold thus far with virtually ZERO support.

IMHO - they blew it should have pumped this game and released it this month just in time for Halloween here in the US.

Well Amazon just dropped it to $39.99 already.

I seem to recall Best Buy having it for that price too. The game sold well for one month. We will have to see this week, with the Sept NPD coming out, if it had any legs. It was a really slow month for PS4 games when it released.

Would I like a sequel? If they stick to a theme for the whole game. They would also really need to add to the adventuring aspect of the game.

Finally finished my 1st playthrough with no help/tips and I REALLY enjoyed the game.

Personally the sci-fi twist was just o.k. in my opinion - I'd personally gone in a different direction but I've seen worst in actual movies.

Side note - the DO NOT MOVE QT Events are HARD/SENSITIVE AS FUCK. Several of them cost me dearly in the game as I'd get one and my little one would start crying and I'd just turn my head to make sure he was ok and I lost the event and ultimately it cost me several characters.

If this rumor is true. The story of the original content was already written by a horror fan with schizophrenia. Now they presumably want to reuse the existing game assets and turn it into an "On-rails" FPS.

Minor spoilers by clicking on the link for those who have yet to play it.

Rumor: New DLC coming for Until Dawn titled Rush of Blood

The DLC, which appears to be an on-rails first-person shooter, is being designed to work with PlayStation VR.

There are a few scattered jumpscares, as you'd expect, but I played the same 20 minute section twice (once with DS4, once with dual Move controllers), so I'm hoping the full DLC is a lot more padded out. I didn't see which character I was playing as, I'm not sure if it's specified, but no names were mentioned at all.

React channel on YouTube is having a Let's Play of Until Dawn with three different groups of people. The first entry is live and it definitely made me more interested in playing this game. I might pick it up and see if my wife would want to watch over my shoulder as I play (she typically hates video games BTW).
