Thoughts? I have a couple guesses but want to see if others pick up the same vibe/guess from it.

My guess:
First sentence - They didn't build the game from scratch. They bought the rights/IP (code) to an in-progress or existing title, perhaps All-Pro Football or BackBreaker.
Second Sentence - They are still looking for a publisher. That would explain the in-house marketing efforts.
That first sentence makes no sense.

That would lend more credibility to that original post about 2k being involved. They might have sold them their assets and this team is trying to use them. 2k employees deny any involvement which is also true. But those short clips look like last Gen code at best. I remember all pro football looking like crap on my ps3.the framers was awful. People loved that game but it was a slightly improved 2k5 from PS2 imported to 360/ps3 without nfl licenses. Disappointing.
That's basically my line of thought as well. It would explain the smoke a while back about 2K getting back into football. If true, someone only had part of the story and filled in the blanks with the wrong assumptions.

Sorry, should have clarified. Chris' explanation made perfect sense; games are made like that all the time. "We have a great team, no offense to who actually built our game" makes very little sense as an English sentence. It's just... weirdly written and the thought process behind it is also strange.
It's almost like it was part of a larger conversation that we weren't privy to. It seems unusual to just blurt out.
