Decided to upgrade my HDD to 3TB doing this. Overall cost around $140 for the enclosure, HDD, and extension cable.

Man I don't think I'll ever use up all my space

You can't install games on it can you? Unless you get digital version right?

Every disc game also stores a cache on the drive. The cache is temporary as it will delete itself when games are no longer being played.

That said, I haven't upgraded but I essentially go digital on all my games so I'm sure I will eventually.

Yeah I started with a TB HDD and am down to 140GB. Don't really want to go through deleting and reinstalling constantly so I'm going to go through with this upgrade.

You download and play alot more games than I do and probably most though lol

I don't see myself going over what it came with honestly as I only play 3 games tops at any 1 time every year.

Could see myself wanting to go with a Solid State drive but price needs to drop more before that happens.

Nice. With all the PS+ games and I'm starting to buy more indy download titles I'll probably do this upgrade at some point as well.

For me I just am not gonna wait for if an when Sony adds external. Plus going this route, I get an extra TB for cheaper than a 2.5" 2TB HDD.

Using Tapatalk on my Samsung Galaxy S5 for shats & gaggles.

Yeah for whatever reason I don't think Sony is going to add external support. Seems silly but it is what it is. I just checked this a.m. and I'm already 50% full on my 1 TB HDD. How much would it be to upgrade to the 6 TB HDD setup that guy has in the video?

Any of you guys know if the DS3 cord on the PS3 also works on the PS4? I think I may have lost my PS4 wire for the DS4. Otherwise, I think I'll just buy one of those charger stands.

    Here is what I bought:

The 6TB HDD is more than double the price.

Thanks man I'll keep my eye out for now for a "deal" because I feel confident I'm going to need to do something by this time next year.

No it is a different connection

The DS3 wire is a micro USB. DS4 is a smaller, flatter connector...which I forget what it is called but it is popular among cell phones

If that is what you are talking about

I'm not able to use the enclosure I got because some how I have to get the extension cable in there.....here is a picture of another guy's set up:

Also you will need this extension cable because it has to be a meter to be able to feed through under the cover and out the vent in the back.

Now I just need to find the right enclosure.

Needed an eSata port out of the enclosure so I found one for that:

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

And a longer sata extension cable:

And going to return the ones that didn't work.

Actually, the DS3 used a mini USB. DS4 uses a micro USB.

That said, micro USB phone chargers will work on DS4s.

DS3 is actually "mini B" USB, whereas DS4 is microUSB, which is what is used by many cell phones.
