Jesus Christ, talk about having you by the balls. It may be $99 to start, but will quickly turn into $200-$300 with the need for memory. May as well spend the extra $100 and get a PS4 at that rate.

For me, I already have a Vita with a 16GB and 32GB card; which I can use on it, so I'm only spending $100; though I would like to get the 64GB card from Play Asia.

Yeah I put it on the Christmas list - gotta have something to open under the tree I suppose. I really just want it so that I can play my free Vita + games and PS4 games on the big screen when the wife is away w/o having to move the PS4 into the living room.

One day (soon) I shall overcome and have my own theater room and watch/play all my stuff on a 100"+ screen of beauty with surround sound etc... until then though PSTV isn't a bad option.

lol i think i asked for the 64 GB card on amazon - i think that is the largest they make - no clue how big the files are but i suspect with just the free games over the last year and change on + i'll fill it up really quickly

Gotta get it through a third party seller as the 64 GB is only available in Japan. Sometimes it's a Prime seller that it comes from though.

Yeah it was a Prime sell (and that's the only way I would buy it). Is there anything odd about it that might give me problems?

So, for a non-Vita, non-PS4 owner, is this at all worth it? My main interest would be in replacing the PS3 as a media center, as I like using the PS3 as little as possible for Netflix/Amazon uses.

Obviously a Roku has the same benefit, so I guess I'm trying to weigh this against buying a Roku.

Roku is a proven product. Love mine and in your scenario it seems like the best choice.

Until we see a list of apps and programs on the PSTV, I'd wait and see. Roku has the best variety, Amazon Fire TV has the best performance.

I just bought a Samsung Bly-Ray/DVD player that can access Netflix for $80 at Sam's. I put it into my bedroom and brought the PS3 back into the living room.

Anyone picked one of these up? I'm tempted to on a black friday "deal" for $80. I'd basically just use it to stream PS4 games to the big screen and to play all the free PS+ Vita games I have downloaded but cannot play b/c I don't own a Vita.
