NCAA 14 retail sliders... what works for you???

Currently I have my sliders in a place I like. The game is playing great for ME. This thread isn't about getting people to use my sliders it just an area where people can show off what works for them. So far this is what I have been using. Feel free to post what works for you.

    Offense: AA
    Defense: Heisman
    Quarter length: 8 minutes
    Camera: Coordinator
    Speed: SLOW
    Threshold: ZERO
(I find this gives great separation)

Crowd noise and field noise are also cranked up to 100

Penalties: (generally speaking penalties aren't very effective)

    Offside: 58
    false start: 55
    holding: 58
    facemask: 58
    o/d pass int.: 100
clipping: 55 (I find anything higher results in too many calls)
    intl. grounding: 100
    roughing passer: 54
    roughing kicker: 100

    SLIDERS (HUMAN / CPU A.I.)

    QB ACC. 20 / 25
PASS BLOCK: 50 / 25 (difficult to get pressure with a 3 or 4 front and no blitz)
    WR CATCH 40 / 40
    RB ABILITY 45 / 45
    RUN BLOCK 45 / 50
PASS COVG. 70 / 60 (this is to try and help with poor zone play)
    INTS. 40 / 25
RUSH D 50 / 55 (cpu rushing is still a work in progress)
    TACKLING 60 / 50
    FG POWER 50 / 45
    FG ACC. 45 / 40
    PUNT PWR 50 / 55
    PUNT ACC. 50 / 50
    KICKOFF 50 / 50

    Auto-sub out / in
    qb 45 / 55
    rb 84 / 85
    wr 84 / 85
    fb/te 84 / 85
    ol 74 / 75

    dt 79 / 80
    de 79 / 80
    lb 75 / 80
    cb 75 / 80
    s 75 / 80

A few things to keep in mind.

    1. ZONE D IS AWFUL!!!
    2. Penalty sliders aren't very effective
    3. Sliders cannot address the read option/option.

*** Also, I'm not sure how the sliders will be impacted by COACH SKILLS. All of my testing has been done in play now.

How much have you changed from your demo sliders? I'm using your sliders you posted in the demo thread right now, some things that may need changed, but I'm liking them where they are so far. At the very least, an extremely good starting point for a set of sliders.

This is what I had previously.

    QB acc. 25/30
    pass block 50/30
    wr catch 45/45
    rb ability 50/50
    pass covg. 70/50
    ints. 25/25
    rush d 55/55
    tackling 60/50
    fg power50/50
    fg accuracy 45/45
    punt power 50/55
    punt acc. 50/50
    kickoff power 50/50
The changes are subtle but I have found the game plays a little better.

Nice. I'll give the changes a whirl. There were going to have to be some changes made from your demo set, hopefully your new sliders are the ones that fill the gap. I've also discovered that I'll need to stick to 9 minute quarter or maybe even 8 as a head coach. Playing this game against Utah right now, 10 minutes, while only an extra minute a quarter, is ultimately throwing snaps, yardage and just overall length of time to play the game in general out of whack. So looks like I'll be remaining at at least 9 minutes like I've been playing while I was an OC.

Yeah Smooth I play 8 minutes as I find 9-10 puts you over an hour. I don't count the number of plays but I think Steeler said 9-10 minutes on avg is what's needed for a normal amount of plays per game.

Yeah, I've rolled with 9 minute quarters the last two years while OC of FIU and Tulsa. It worked out well for me. The supersimmed CPU drives while we were on defense would eat up enough clock to keep things moving at a good pace. Going full time this year, offense and defense, definitely noticing the clock taking much longer to tick down. So 8 or 9 minutes is gonna have to be where I look because 10 is just taking forever.

This may be a long year as OC. In our first game it was a challenge. It looks like coach skills will be a huge part of dynasty and since I am a level one coach I have no benefits.

    Game 1: FCS West 24 @ Arizona St. 31

    16 first downs 19
    320 total offense 379
    22-66-0 rushes 34-83-2
    21-46-2 passes 21-29-1
    254 passing yards 296
    0 TURNOVERS 4!!!

My qb went 21-29 for 296 yards 1 td and two ints

running was really tough - my three rb's had:
    21 carries for 53 yards
    5 carries for 22yards
3 carries for minus 6 yards

    OUCH!

If that was with Arizona State against an FCS team, I am SOOOOOOOOOOO screwed as head coach of Utah State.

I'm gonna end up fired in my first season.

I don't know Smooth. Game two I just played a tough Wisconsin team and my offense lit it up in a 28-14 win. We had zero turnovers. Passing was 21-29 for 231 yards and 2 tds and rushing was 40-157-2. Very random results to say the least.

I've still been using the sliders I posted in the demo slider section, they seem to work good for me. After spending two very long seasons as 's oc I went to as the oc,some very close games. I finished 9-3 I went to the bowl game vs and got my butt handed to me 49-3.

My qb season stats: He did miss a few games due to injury
    179-294= 2429 yds - 22td-14 int

My RB 233-1035yds 4.4 per carry

An issue that has come up in dynasty is that the cpu offenses are NOT running the ball frequently enough. In Madden 13 the cpu ran the ball far too often and now it seems in NCAA 14 the cpu passes the ball too much. Versus Wisconsin and Stanford the cpu ran the ball a total of 11 times!!! (7 and 5 respectively).

Geez, sliders needed badly on Heisman. Looks like I'll be experimenting tonight.

Using my sliders tonight I decided to play a full game during my bye week so I choose Idaho @ Ole Miss. I had to work extremely hard to keep it close. It was also a downpour so there were a ton of drops.

    Idaho (me) 15 @ Ole Miss 27

    14 first downs 17
    217 total offense 321
    24-31-0 rushes 32-128-2
    19-36-2 comp / att 19-34-1
    186 passing yards 193
    2 turnovers 1
    2 ints 1

I monkeyed around last night some and didn't like certain aspects on Heisman until I ran these, which I think gave a better game.

Used Michigan against an underpowered MINN team. Stats looked solid, but I didn't record them. Something like 340 total yards for me, 190 for the CPU. 7min quarters. Number of plays was skewed in my favor due to possessing the ball and running a lot, 50-some to 40-some. Another minute of quarter time to 8mins would probably push number of plays to realistic NCAA average.
Think my starting RB had 18 carries for 48 yards, avg 3.8ypc.
CPU RB was 3.4-4ypc as I recall it.
Passed for over 200 at 76%, I think CPU was 17-26 or something like that for 156 yards......
Only one INT by my D.

    Heisman
    Heisman
    Qtr 7-8mins
    Game speed normal
    Threshold 40

    QBA 20/20
    pass block 50/25
    WRC 40/40
    RBA 50/50
    Run block 55/40
    Pass cov 75/55
    INT 50/40
    Rush D 50/45
    Tackle 60/50
    FGP 45/40
    FGA 45/40
    both punt 50/50
    KO 40/40

Haven't played enough to call them "good", just a starting point. Have to play against evenly-matched team and against a better team to get more testing.

I set run block where it is so far based on watching OL push for a bunch of plays for both the CPU and human. CPU was getting 3 yard push every single play on 50, whereas human was getting no push. 55 for human has appeared to move that to 0-2 yards push, whereas moving CPU down to 40 gives about the same *so far*.

Another difference is that I'm running from under center, and it appears that running option/read option/spread results in better rushing numbers than from under center. Just observation, haven't tested it.

OS has a thread about using split Varsity / Heisman sliders to get around the aggressive zone issues. I tried them out last night and they play pretty well providing a challenging game despite the Varsity setting.

Going to try these sliders out in a few. Reading through the thread they look pretty accurate as they match up with stats from last years games between two teams. When they tested Nebraska vs Wisconsin they got similar numbers to what happened int he BIG Ten championship game. He makes a valid point that this is college football and we shouldn't expect to get low offensive numbers like an NFL game. Especially since the majority of the offensive players are rated well above the defensive players.

Definitely liking where your sliders are at Jaymo.

I just played a play now game of Utah State (CPU) at Utah State (Me).

I sweated out a 33-25 win, my defense making a stand with first and goal from our 8 yard line. Held our ground and forced a turnover on downs at our 9 yard line after an incomplete pass on fourth down with 43 seconds left in the game. The stats ended up very even.

Rushing, my starting HB ended with 159 yards on 28 carries for a 5.6 average (a long rush of 52 on a beautiful TD rush). The second string HB ended with 92 yards on 15 carries for a 6.1 average (long of 38). And my QB ended with 6 yards on 3 carries from a 2.0 average (long of 12).

For the CPU team, starting HB edned with 164 yards on 21 carries for a 7.8 average (long of 28). QB ended with 55 yards on 10 carries for a 5.5 average (long of 13). The second string HB ended with 25 yards on 6 carries for a 4.1 average (long of 18). The third string HB ended with 14 yards on 4 carries for a 3.5 average (long of 14). And the backup QB ended with 13 yards on 2 carries for a 6.5 average (long of 9).
