Can someone explain how the running speed burst works?

In the tutorial it says to use r2 to sprint and give you drills corresponding with that. If you watch the video Kirk says not to hold it down to long or you will get tired.

Played 4 games so far 2 unranked 2 ranked. It seems like when you get the hand off you already have like a speed burst but then in the middle of the play you have to use r2 to regain it.

Also do you hold r2 to all the way to the endzone.

I know this might sound simple I just want to understand the most efficient way to run.

R2 is now an acceleration burst. Press it when you see a hole and you want to hit it or if you get to the outside and all of your blocking is setup for you. Once you get to top speed, you can let it go and you'll stay at top speed until you cut or are hit.

As well, you don't HAVE to hit it... given time, your runner will get to top speed on his own.

So should you just hold r2 until your in the open field? Or is a quick 1 sec hold enough to get to top speed?

You can see when they hit top speed. When you're acceleration bursting he'll lean forward while running. Once he hits top speed he'll stand up straighter. Stop bursting when he stands up.

What about running inside the tackles? Do you speed burst through the hole, to the hole, after when you get in open space?
