Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 14 Dev Blog: Career Mode

Check out the new blog from Tiger 14 Dev Justin Patel:

We've added new features to Career Mode this year to make the mode better than ever. For the first time in the history of the franchise, the LPGA Tour is available. Golfers can test their skills against the LPGA’s best players, like Stacy Lewis, Paula Creamer, Suzann Pettersen, Natalie Gulbis, and Lexi Thompson. Male golfers will find a whole new path to the PGA TOUR, with the new qualification changes to Q School and the Web.com Tour fully integrated into this year’s game. The inclusion of the LPGA Tour, along with an updated career path, only scratches the surface of the mode. So let’s dive in to see what else we have in store for you this year!

When you create a female golfer, you have the option to choose which tour you would like to play on.

Your road to the LPGA Tour starts in the amateur ranks. You can progress your way up through Symetra Tour and possibly Symetra Tour Q School to earn a spot on the LPGA Tour.

The LPGA Tour schedule consists of 22 events, including the Kraft Nabisco Championship, golf’s first major of the year.

On the male side, Q School is now the entry point to make it onto the Web.com Tour. The new Web.com Tour playoff structure has also been added. Play well in the playoffs to earn a spot on the PGA TOUR.

The PGA TOUR schedule features 31 events. For the first time ever, all four majors are fully licensed and included in the schedule. Other officially licensed tournaments include the Waste Management Phoenix Open, The Honda Classic, the Memorial Tournament, and the Travelers Championship, just to name a few.

The new Time of Day feature impacts career mode, changing the look of the course based on your tee time. The "By Position" setting will give you realistic starting times. If you are leading a tournament going into the final round, you will tee off in the afternoon. If you barely make the cut, you will start your weekend playing in the morning.

Statistics are now tracked and saved for all golfers in Career Mode. You can compare your season stats against the leaders on TOUR in many different categories such as Birdies, Average Par 4 Score, GIR%, and Putt Average. You can also sort between the current season, previous season, and lifetime stats

Career Goals give you legendary achievements to strive for in your career. Complete all of these goals to receive some swag in the apparel shop, as well as a legendary treatment to your PGA TOUR card (pictured on the left of the screen).

The Trophy Room houses all of the trophies you collect throughout your career. However, each major championship has its very own trophy room. So if you win The Masters trophy, the U.S. Open trophy, the Claret Jug or the Wanamaker Trophy, it will be kept in its own special place.

Those are just some of the new features available in Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 14, which includes more courses on disc than ever before. Make sure you pre-order your copy today for exclusive content. For more details, hit us up on Twitter or Facebook.

And remember, Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 14 releases on March 26th for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 and March 29th worldwide.

See you all on the course,

The Time of Day is something I have been requesting for years and the career mode is where it ill shine. Still bummed about the cameras but hopefully next year they can add a camera to the game from the players perspective. Kinda like they did all the way back on the original PGA Tour game for the Genesis.

It's pretty cool. Playing night golf and your golf ball glows.
