Any first album after you have gotten out of the clink is going to be a good one if you're a rapper I think.

In the middle of my second listen-through of the new STP album. It's really good. I kinda miss the heavy STP, as this album is really bluesy and melodic. Lots of this album reminds me of Zepplein.

I get together every now and again with a few friends for what we call 'music night'. Basically we sit around and drink lots of beer and listen to vinyl. Without fail we end up having a discussion about which year in music is our favorite. The answer always ends up being 1994. So, today I was bored at work and did some research on all the music that came out in 94. I was amazed at the number of albums I consider great. The ones I bolded are in my top 20 albums of all time.

    Green Day - Dookie
    Soundgarden - Superunknown
    NIN - The Downward Spiral
    Weezer - Blue Album
    Oasis - Definitely Maybe
    Korn - 1st Album
Alice in Chains - Jar of Flies
Meat Puppets - Too High to Die
Pavement - Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain
    Cake - Motorcade of Generosity
    Beck - Mellow Gold
    Luna - Bewitched
    Failure - Magnified
Pink Floyd - The Division Bell
    Hole - Live Through This
    Rollins Band - Weight
    Live - Throwing Copper
    Blur - Parklife
Sonic Youth - Experimental Jet Set, Trash and No Star
Sunny Day Real Estate - Diary
    Beastie Boys - Ill Communication
STP - Purple ('Still Remains' off this album is my favorite song of all time)
    Rancid - Lets Go
    L7 - Hungry for Stink
    311 - Grassroots
Marilyn Manson - Portrait of an American Family
The Jesus and Mary Chain - Stoned and Dethroned
Dinosaur Jr - Without a Sound
    Toadies - Rubberneck
    Liz Phair - Whip SMart
Veruca Salt - American Thighs (...don't judge me )
Dave Matthews Band - Under the Table and Dreaming
    REM - Monster
The Smashing Pumpkins - Pisces Iscariot
Page and Plant - No Quarter
    Portishead - Dummy
    The Melvins - Stoner Witch
    The Black Crowes - Amorica
    Nirvana - Unplugged
    Pearl Jam - Vitalogy

to be honest I don't know. I don't usually listen to alternative but my friend played their new album for me when we were driving and I fell in love.

Man Deuce, great list. I would have to sit a long time to come up with mine as I would forget things, but here is a working list.

    Nirvana - Nevermind, Bleach
    Metallica - Black Album
    Pearl Jam - Vs.
Stone Temple Pilots - Core, Purple, Shangri-La De Da
Marilyn Manson - The High End of Low
    Taproot - Welcome
Our Lady Peace - Clumsy, Gravity
Ludacris - Back for the First Time
2Pac - All Eyez On Me
    Dr. Dre - The Chronic
    Deftones - Around The Fur
    Alice In Chains - Dirt
Nine Inch Nails - Downward Spiral, With Teeth
    Staind - Dysfunction

I'm probably leaving out a ton right now this late in the evening....but there are some of my best off the top.

Wow, need to get some metal in here QUICK!

And, finally, the most amazing band EVER. These songs are just a sample of their incredible music.
