FIFA 13 Skill Games -- Progress and Tips

How's everyone doing in the FIFA 13 Skill Games thus far? Here's my current status:

• Ground Pass -- Gold Level (1,250 points as high score)
• Lob Pass -- Skill Challenge (500 points as high score)
• Dribbling -- Gold Level (7,273 as high score)
• Shooting -- Skill Challenge (10,827 as high score)
• Advanced Shooting -- Silver Level (2,076 as high score)
• Crossing -- Skill Challenge (11,000 points as high score)
• Free Kicks -- Gold Level (0 points as high score)
• Penalties -- Silver Level (1,000 points as high score)

I've come so close to getting to Skill Challenge on Dribbling, just can't quite pull it off yet. Manual shooting controls is killing me for Shooting and Advanced Shooting; the directional aiming is so touchy on that setting! Let's not talk about Gold Level Free Kicks either; having the three players to choose from and little instruction from the game about avoiding the wall is just killing me.

Anybody have helpful tips?

Just did a victorious fist-pump at passing the Silver Level for Advanced Shooting; hit a low target with my last attempt!

So many hours will be sunk into this mode. Wish NCAA Football and Madden NFL had challenges like this for "short burst" play options.

EDIT: Man; Gold Level was pretty easy on Advanced Shooting by comparison. Cleared in two tries.

Advanced Shooting - Skill Challenge 0 points

Free Kicks - Silver Level 3043 points

Penalties - Gold Level 1719 points
