    Miami- July 20th, 2011
The infernal NFL lockout is poised to finally end this week, just in time for training camps to begin. College teams prepare to also hit the field for preseason practice. And down here, that puts in play something bigger than just those coming seasons.
The Heat failing to begin its presumed NBA dynasty has left a door ajar for the Miami Hurricanes.
This has been an awful, chaotic 2011 for controversy-marred college football. Southern California stripped of its 2004 BCS title and Georgia Tech of its 2009 Atlantic Coast Conference crown. Jim Tressel toppled by Ohio State’s scandal. Butch Davis and North Carolina under fire. Allegations chasing Auburn’s Cam Newton, the Fiesta Bowl nearly defrocked and Oregon shadowed by Willie Lyle’s “scouting services.” Scandal most anywhere you look.
At Miami, though, the dark cloud elsewhere across the sport feels more like a fresh breeze and rays of sun brought with Al Golden’s hiring.
UM football feels rejuvenated. Golden has had speaking engagements in a dozen cities, reigniting the fan base. Recruiting has been strong. Alumni are back on board. A marketing push expands north. And Golden has it right in preaching that penalties and turnovers sabotaged Miami last season and that those breaches of fundamentals can’t continue.

Miami- The University of Miami Football Team is kicking off their 2011 campaign by taking on the Terrapins of Maryland. The Hurricanes released their depth chart and starting lineup for the game, and it contained what some might consider several surprises.
This depth chart in a lot of areas had players listed with or next to their name, which means the competition was fierce at that particular position. It also means there are a lot of players who are backups that will be seeing significant playing time during the season.

    ------RETURNING STARTERS------

Miami- The door to the ACC title is ajar, the rise back to national spotlight begins now. Coach Al Golden believes that his Hurricanes are ready to march into Capital One Field at Byrd Stadium and quite the Terps fans early. Halfback Lamar Miller is excepted to get atleast 25 touches, Golden hasn't ruled out just flinging the ball all over the field though, he believes that Quarterback Jacory Harris will prove the doubters wrong and have a huge game for the Hurricanes. Miami's defense is lead by Senior Linebacker Sean Spence and Junior Safeties Ray-Ray Armstrong and Vaughn Telmaque. Maryland is lead by their Sophomore Quarterback Danny O'Brien and Senior Star Halfback Davin Meggett, both whom could take over the game at any point.
Miami vs. Maryland prediction: Miami 24, Maryland 21

    33-6
Miami- The Hurricanes Lamar Miller carries the load with 29 carries for 160 Yards and 2 scores as Miami's defense shuts down the Terrapins of Maryland. Jacory Harris has a decent day with going 12-24 for 186 Yards, 2 scores along with 2 interceptions. The Hurricane defense was all over the field, Dyron Dye led the defense with 5 sacks, Brandon McGee came away with his first interception of the season. Maryland had a rough time getting anything going, the offense only accounting for 138 yards and 1 score. Hopefully the Hurricanes defense can show up in this type of way week-in and week-out, if they can the Hurricanes might be able to get back to their championship rotts.

    Miami Hurricanes Week Three Preview

    @
Miami- Ever since January 3, 2003 there has been bad blood between the Miami Hurricanes and the Ohio State Buckeyes. Last season the Hurricanes offense struggled to get anything going and ended up losing 36-24. Coach Golden believes that it won't be the case this year, Ohio State is coming to Miami this year and with a true Freshman Quarterback at that, Braxton Miller might be the #2 Overall Quarterback in this past year's recruiting class but will he have enough speed to fight off Dye, Forston, Spence and Armstrong? Coach Golden doesn't believe so. Golden said that he is going to stick with the plan of giving Lamar Miller 25+ carries and stick with Jacory Harris and the long ball. If the Hurricanes defense shuts the Bucks down as they did the Terps and can get their offense rolling this one could get ugly but don't count out the #4 Buckeyes.

    Miami Hurricanes Week Three Review
    20-27

Miami- The Hurricanes are finally able to come out on top against the Buckeye's of Ohio State. The Buckeye's began the game with two productive drives that each ended with field goals, The Hurricanes offense started off very slow. Jacory Harris began the game with a terrible interception, but then bounced back with two long touchdown throws, one to Johnson for 45 yards, then one to Hurns for 73. So with the Hurricanes leading 14-6 just before half Ohio State had to get things rolling and they did with Jamal Berry breaking out a beautiful 9 yard score just before halftime. Miami went into the break with the 14-13 lead, Coach Golden must have gave his team a heartfelt speech because once they came out of the locker room there was not stopping them, Lamar Miller tourched the Buckeye's "D" for two scores and the Hurricanes "D" all but shut down the Ohio State offense before giving up a late score to Stoneburner. With this "W" the Hurricanes have jumped back into the Top-25 at #23, while Ohio State fell eight spots to #12. The Hurricanes host Kansas St. next Saturday.

Miami- Bryce Brown and his older brother Aurther make their first return to Miami, and The Hurricanes aren't excepted to give them a warm welcome. Bryce who back out of his intent to play for the Hurricanes and Aurther who never panned out to be anything but a over-hyped backup are both excepted to start for Wildcats. Miami coming off a huge win against Ohio State will try put this one away early. Coach Golden doesn't believe that Kasas State can hang with the Hurricanes overall speed, and is looking to prove a point to the nation that this is the Hurricanes year. Jacory Harris looks to limit his turnovers and keep things rolling, Lamar Miller should get his carries and looks to countine his hot start and add to his 4 touchdowns. The Hurricanes Defense looks to limit Kasas State, Coach D'Onofrio said that he hopes to keep the Wildcats out of the endzone and has challenged his Defense to post a shutout.
Will The Hurricanes live up to the Challenge?
    Kasas State vs. Miami Prediction:
