    Week Eleven: Kentucky Arkansas State

Arkasnas State came out and dominated this game against Kentucky give them a win against the Sun Belt North favorites. In the game Kentucky could never get their offense going and had trouble containing the Air Raid as Williams marched up and down the field against the Kentucky defense.

Next week Arkansas State can all but clinch a Sun Belt North championship berth if they can travel to Louisville and beat the #22 Cardinals.

Week Twelve: Arkansas State Louisville W 31-24

Arkansas State pulled off a huge win in the game that would determine the Sun Belt North title berth. Arkansas State jumped to a 17-7 halftime lead and held off a 14 point Louisville fourth quarter push to win the game. After going up 17-7 at halftime the Red Wolves felt pretty comfortable until Louisville put up 17 unanswered points of their own to take over the lead midway through the fourth. Williams never worried, though and led two precision passing drives to regain the lead and seal the victory.

Arkansas State needs to pull off one win in their next two games to clinch a title game berth. With Mid Tennessee State and Western Kenctuky left to play that shouldn't be too difficult.

Week Thirteen: Western Kentucky #25 Arkanas State W 48-20

Ranked for the first time in club history, Arkansas State hosts Western Kentucky needing a win to clinch the Sun Belt North. And a win they got with huge 14 point second quarter and 21 point fourth quarter that sealed the win. This wasn't a shock, though, as the 1-9 Western Kentucky team was never given a chance by anyone to pull off the win.

Next up the regular season finale agaisnt Mid Tennessee State. Though there isn't much on the line look for Arkansas State to play to win. Still the backups are expected to see much action in the game giving the starts some needed rest before the Conference Title game.

Sun Belt Conference Title Game: #22 Arkansas State vs #20 Troy W 34-31

Infront of a sold out Jacksonville FL crowd the Arkansas State Red Wolves beat the Troy Trojans in a back and forth football game that wouldn't be decided until the end of the fourth quarter. The game started out all Troy in the first quarter. They picked off Williams inside the their own 10 yard line then drove down the first to take the 7-0 lead. The second quarter saw Arkansas State regain the lead as a Tucker 2 yard TD run tied it then a Griffin 21 yard FG secured a 10-7 lead. Troy jumped ahead right before the half on a 79 yard Weatherford punt return for a TD. Things weren't looking good for Arkansas State. Already Williams had thrown up 2 INTs and leading Red Wovles reciever Ellis went down with a broken arm and would be out the rest of the season!

Still the Red Wolves wouldn't be denied and came out strong in the third quarter scoring on a 60 yard Williams to Parrish TD pass to take the lead. It wouldn't last long as Troy jumped back on top on a Colvin TD pass. Arkansas State had an answer, though, and Tucker rumbled 73 yards down the field to for the TD run and a Red Wolves lead. Troy tied the game up midway through the fourth quarter but would never see the lead again. The Red Wolves took the lead for the final time on a 36 yard FG then tacked on a 23 yard TD pass for insurance. Troy tried to mount a comback and came within 3 points scored a TD with 1 minute left but failed to recover the onside kick.

Arkansas State is the 2012 Sun Belt Champions!

After the game Offensive Coordinator Osiris Jones won Coordinator of the Year award.

Next up for the Red Wolves? A trip to the New Orleans Bowl to play Cincinatti.

New Orleans Bowl: #18 Arkansas State VS Cincinnati W 34-17
The #18 Arkansas State Red Wolves played 6-6 Big East Cincinnati Bobcats in the New Orleans bowl. The game started out all Arkansas State and ended all Arkansas State as Offensive Coordinator Osiris Jones won his first bowl game in the big easy. Arkansas State jumped to a 24-10 halftime lead and then added 3rd quarter insurance to take a 31-10 lead into the fourth. Despite being without team record holding reciever Ellis, the Red Wolves passing attack proved more then Cincinnati could handle.

Going into the offseason the big question on everyone's mind remains: What will Offensive Coordinator Osiris Jones do? In the final year of his contract he could resign with the Red Wolves or he test the waters with another team.
