Ooh ... was really hoping to jump either VT or Oklahoma this week in the Top 25. I've got two more victories on the way, but I don't think that'll be enough to stay in the Top 20 unless I can keep it really close against Papa. I knew losing to Oklahoma put my Top 20 chances into jeopardy ... and I really need to get in the Top 20 to have a chance at [5star].

ya... well, I was optimistic that I would stay in the top 10 when I seen I only dropped to 9th after the rout by miami, but loosing to a bunch of box turtles screwed that wet dream. I just hope I can pull out the rest of the season.

Nick Cleveland Update: With 359 yards rushing against the wet paper bag defense of Indiana (mostly 70's OVR), Cleveland only trails Ron Dayne in career rushing yardage by 508 yards with games against Ohio State and their opponent in the Rose Bowl. Cleveland also trails only Texas running back Chris Whaley by 6 touchdowns for most touchdowns in a career.

Putting in his bid for the next great running back at Michigan true freshman Zach Gray rushes for 176 yards bringing his season total to 768 yards in the 52-0 win over the Hosiers.

Looking ahead to Ohio State who's defense looks to provide a bigger challenge, Cleveland will needs another day like today as USC will be the likely opponent in the Rose Bowl if there is any hope of breaking either record.

Texas A&M goes into Morgantown and rolls, 73-26. The Mountaineers put up 13 points quickly in the 4th quarter against the Aggie's second-team defense, and the Aggies took exception to that, scoring 21 points in the final 2:45, including two touchdowns in the last 46 seconds of the game.

In all, the Aggies rushed 51 times for 399 yards and 9 touchdowns, and were led by Mister Jones' 25 attempts for 178 yards and 5 TDs. Star speed back Ben Malena was sidelined in the first quarter, otherwise the flood that hit Puskar Stadium may have been worse. The score was skewed by incredible field position that the Aggies had all day, starting many drives inside Mountaineers' territory.

In all, the Mountaineers put the ball on the ground five times, losing four, and threw one interception.

Wisconsin defeats Iowa 51-28 but loses starting QB Jon Hunter for the remainder of the season. The Badgers gave up two fumbles which the Hawkeyes returned for a touchdown.

Virginia Tech decides that they want to see if Virginia can score anything before the half before they decide to score. They couldn't help themselves though, as a defensive end got a chance to return an interception for a TD and we all know how excited D linemen get when they get the ball in their hands. The Secondary decided that they are still on vacation for the first half of this game, as they have been since the KO against Miami. In the third quarter the Hokies decided that they were tired of trying to let Virginia score and started playing a little offense, with a 57 yard option run by the QB. Virginia finally puts one in the end zone in the 3rd at the 3:54 mark only to miss the XP, they also missed a FG earlier in the contest. This TD was after two pussyfoot tackle attempts by the Hokie secondary. REplay to be saved.
All told the Hokies rushed for 158 yards, below par for the season, but a welcome return as of late for the ground game. As an individual effort though, Minor only rushed for 58.
Passing only for 77 yards in another lackluster performance in the air. 4 of 17 for booth
Virginia rushed for -13 yards and passed for 236.

The last 3 games have sparked come chatter around Blacksburg as to whether or not Coach RC is suited for this level. Some are saying that perhaps he is better suited for division 2. This win may work to calm some of the fans, but there is a definite cause for concern for the coaching staff.
3 straight games of less than 60 yards from a Heisman candidate indicates something is amiss.

On the year, Minor has accounted for 1277 yards on 175 carries and 20 TD's; hardly an unimpressive resume. He averages 7.2 yards per carry, a long of 76, and 227 yards after contact on 35 broken tackles.
