Don't get me started on the Crucible. I do not even like PvP but what little I did was poop. What is the logic of leveling players yet letting people use their existing overpowered weapons?
Really do not want to start a new character so until new content pops up I won't be grinding to find shards/energy much more. If you run around chest hunting you will eventually run across a shard/energy but it is very rare. Best option is to do the public events that pop up every thirty minutes but again, you are not guaranteed what you want. The postmaster can be almost as much of a prick as Cryptarch. He even forgets that I successfully completed a public event from time to time, leaving me hanging like Charlie Brown at the mailbox waiting for a letter from that Redhead he was sweet on.
Would love to do the Raid and Nightmare event but another genius move by Bungie was to limit matchmaking to just a few of the strikes. You have to have 6 people to do a Raid, at least you do the first time you give it a go. Other than having a ginormous friends list, it is darn near impossible to start one. I have had some really good random strikes and outside the repetitive bosses, they have been a highlight. Would love to try these events. :(
I do plan on getting the expansion pass, closer to when the first one is to be released. The game plays great, they just need more of it to explore and less of it being the same mission objective. I realize there are limitations to a mission in a FPS but for cripes sake. Dinklebot has to do something, you have to fend off waves and Dinklebot finishes task that allows you to rinse and repeat.
I'm assuming a lot of the design choices was made to extend the shelf life of the game. If everyone could level up easily, everyone would max out quickly and have nothing to do. Seems like the way the game is now, there's always some carrot on a stick out there.
They really are reaching down the bottom of the barrel to show off good reviews.

Boothammer! LMFAO!
I saw that while watching college football yesterday. I absolutely busted. What a joke.
I agree with you. I think their intent was/is to make a game that people keep playing for months on end, if not longer. Now how close they got is up to the individual to decide.
My biggest disappointment was the story and the link below makes it seem as if it was relatively edited/neutered late in the cycle:
Via Reddit: How Destiny's Content COMPLETELY changed over the last year (Contains Spoilers)
Finally participated in a Raid. Someone just invited me random and they had already gone through 1/3 of the Raid, so I missed out on the first part, which is pretty straight forward. Once you get past that... I understand why it took the first group ten plus hours to beat it. We had nobody with any experience at the point we were at and this is a completely different beast from the regular game. This is not a strike and you better have someone with a keyboard handy in your group to search Google on Vault of Glass. The actual fighting was not that bad up until the last boss and his friends. What is a challenge is trying to figure out what to do to move forward. We beat sections of the Raid and I still have no clue how we did it or why certain things happened. There is stealth, platforming, puzzle solving, portals, mazes and numerous new effects and abilities the bad dudes can wreak havoc upon you.
We made it to the final boss but were worn out and had no clue as to the best way to attack it so we plan to try again later in the day. It is worth the effort. Even without beating the boss and missing the first part of the game I netted 2 Legendary weapons and a few shards and energy.
Doubt I would do another run of this particular Raid, possibly with the new ones coming in the expansions. Worth it for the loot but as a first time you have to set aside at least 5+ hours to make it worthwhile. Unless you are running with multiple repeat raiders. It has been beaten in 30 or so minutes but those guys were exceptional players that had run through it multiple times.
Replayed a level 2 mission to get marks for the Queen, and a legendary engram plopped down in front me. It was a legendary helmet, so that puts me over 25 now. Got a little further on 25 after getting the spinmetal needed to boost the legendary boots I have.
By the way, that Loot Cave 2.0 that was discovered, not so great compared to the other.
Tried some Salvage last night. It's great when you have a team that works together. The first couple matches I didn't have that and played against some ringers who were working together well. Once I got one a team that was more about the teamwork, it was fun. I still like Skirmish the best of the modes so far though. Maybe that's because the k/d on Skirmish is the best out of all modes :D
The new rage is Mars, just straight ahead of where you land doing a patrol.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gHpdtw5Mr1E
I think the better area on Mars is if you go down the tunnel and then to your right a ways down, head into a building, you get a bunch of Cabal that respawn as you go in and out of it. Plus you can snipe 10 or so from the the top of the building if nobody is around.
Thanks for the heads up. I want a rare or Legandary sniper! Still have the green uncommon version.

If you get a few more levels up give the Queens order strike a try. It is extremely hard but you are guaranteed a Legendary with victory (They are a helmet, chest armor, Sniper or a ship) pretty sure the last two are the rarest. There are a few different orders and if you can get the one on Earth it is fairy short and the easiest of the batch.
* Only snag is that you do not get shards/energy from breaking Queens Order Legacies down. People were spamming the missions and racking up Legendaries to break down so they hot fixed it a while back.
Also keep checking the gunsmith as he has Rare Guns from time to time.
I've done 6 of the Queen's missions and gotten the same helmet 5 times. The other time I got a chest piece.
Got the Zombie Apocalypse machine gun for reaching Crucible rep rank 3. It's ridiculous how good it is. I mowed down people with my regular machine gun, but this thing just rips right through them. I have no problem getting 5 or 6 kills in a single clip.
Also, got the exotic bounty for the Pocket Infinity Exotic Fusion Rifle. Good times are about to be had.
Got an e-mail from Bungie that patch 1.02 is now live.
http://www.inquisitr.com/1512338/des...grade-as-well/
The highly anticipated 1.02 patch for Destiny has officially gone live and is being pushed out to servers on Microsoft and Sony platforms. In addition to Destiny also receiving a fix for the troubled loot system, the Destiny companion app for iOS and Android has also received a big update to make the experience smoother.
The official Bungie news site gave the details of the Destiny 1.02 update which the Inqusitr reported on previously. According to the post from Bungie,
With this patch, we address some widely-discussed concerns with how Engrams are earned and claimed. Strikes have become more rewarding, and the rewards gained from them are more predictable. Also affected is the rotation of maps that appear in the Crucible.
One of the biggest changes in the 1.02 fixes is the way in which Destiny handles giving rewards for activities such as the Strike Playlist and Daily Heroic Missions. Another much needed fix was the end of random decryptions from the Cryptarch in the game.
During play in Destiny, defeating an enemy will occasionally cause a shiny ball to drop which is color coded for its quality: White for the common, green for uncommon, blue for rare and purple for legendary. The issue was that just because a rare blue orb dropped, you did not always receive a rare item from it. When you took it to the Cryptarch for unlocking, he could just as easily give you the less desirable green variety. The 1.02 Destiny patch fixes it so that the loot that is unlocked will always be the same, if not better, as the color of the drop. In other words, a rare blue loot drop, will always contain a piece of rare armor or a rare weapon.
The companion app for Destiny also received a much needed overhaul. On the official Bungie news posts it is stated that the changes include much easier navigation of the exposition heavy Grimoire cards the play unlocks throughout the game. Raid progress is also listed for weekly status. The biggest change to the Destiny companion comes in the department of help and support. Forum topics that have been addressed by an official Mentor or Bungie employee will now display a badge indicating the topic has received some sort of official attention.
The complete list of changes in the Destiny 1.02 patch and the Destiny companion app are listed below for easy reference:

Impact is low on all Legendary snipers but it can one shot pretty much anything not a boss or shielded. Also precision shot causes target to explode.
