2K Sports has released a trailer showcasing and the full rosters for the All-Time Teams in NBA 2K18. Each NBA squad will have an All-Time Team featuring the best to have ever played for that particular franchise.

While taking criticism historically for their reliance on Virtual Currency, the NBA 2K franchise has been relaxed and geared towards the consumer when it comes to allowing players to use Legends and All-Time players in the open and not behind a paywall or comparable MyTEAM mode as other developers do.

However, some players who have/will not sign licensing rights put a dent into this new feature. Some of the more high profile former players missing from the All-Time Teams include Charles Barkley, Reggie Miller, Moses Malone, and Rasheed Wallace.

It is also worth noting that the All-Time Oklahoma City Thunder team contains numerous players from the Seattle Supersonics who did not get their own All-Time team as some fans had hoped.

NBA 2K's Mike Wang has written the first gameplay blog of the year for NBA 2K18 detailing on the court improvements coming to the title.

The most noteworthy item of the blog is the change away from an animation-driven system to a new motion engine that is driven by stick input and player's attributes all done on the fly. One of the more long-standing complaints of the NBA 2K franchise was their reliance on animations, some long and drawn out.

Other points of interest from the blog: improved pull-up jumper game, new triple threat jabs and fakes, walking size-ups and combos, Receiver Control, improvements to steals and blocks, more varieties and outcomes in hustle plays, and more.

2K Sports has begun to start the reveal of NBA 2K18 game news and info beginning with a very in-depth blog from Senior Producer Erick Boenisch on the additions and improvements coming to MyLEAGUE and MyGM modes.

Some of the many additions & improvements listed include: a narrative-based, story-driven MyGM mode, a number of details from the 2017 CBA, G-League integration, draft-and-stash, an analytics tool, rebranding in existing arena, All-Star location selection experience, player accessory frequency, and much more. While 2K's depth and options may almost become daunting and overwhelming at times, at least the options are there for hardcore fans to engage in them.

NBA 2K continues to be the sports leader in franchise mode depth and options and it appears 2K18 continues that trend. As Boenisch states at the conclusion of the blog: "I shouldn’t be at this point, but I am continually surprised at how little support other sports games give their franchise modes. I vowed long ago to never let the NBA 2K franchise regress to that mean." The advantage and lead 2K now seemingly has in franchise/career modes over other sports titles may be large enough to almost become embarrassing. Will any of them try to bridge the gap in upcoming years?
