Wednesday afternoon, Matt Brown tweeted that he had heard that unless a bowl stadium is also the home stadium for an NFL team, it would not be included in EA SPORTS College Football 25. Brown cites one such example as Fenway Park's Fenway Bowl and that these bowls would be played in a generic stadium created by EA.

From Brown: Quick update on this btw. Hearing that bowl stadiums that are NOT NFL stadiums or campus sites will not be included in *this year's game*. So no Fenway Park, etc. EA will use a generic stadium for those games, I'm told. ... I don't think it's so much about licensing costs (although I'm sure that's at least A factor) as it is the fact that rendering an accurate stadium is REALLY time and resource intensive. It was one of the harder things to do for every FBS team, I'm told

EA has confirmed that all bowl games will be in EA SPORTS College Football 25, meaning the names, logos, field art, et al. are likely to be in the title. Provided the specifics of Brown's report are accurate, there would be nine bowl games played in generic stadiums. ...

First reported by Pete Nakos of On3, the National College Football Awards Association (NCFAA) has decided to decline the offer from EA SPORTS and opt out of EA SPORTS College Football 25 citing what they perceive as an unfair contract offer.

From On3: “[The offer] was not something that was representative of any either major awards, assigning image rights and usage rights to a game which we all believe is going to be very popular and going to sell a lot of copies based on past history,” [said NCFAA president Mark] Wolpert, who is also the executive director of the Maxwell Football Club, said. “There’s an appetite for that game. And if brands are going to be represented there, we want to be compensated properly."

Some of the awards that will not be included in the game are the "Bednarik, Biletnikoff, Davey O’Brien, Doak Walker, Groza, Jim Thorpe, Maxwell, Outland, and Ray Guy" per On3. EA SPORTS has publicly stated The Heisman Trophy WILL be in EA SPORTS College Football 25, so it appears The Heisman Trust still maintains the image and usage rights for the award, not the NCFAA. It is currently unknown if any other awards possess those same rights.

Many NCFAA-member awards were in the NCAA Football franchise, but appear destined to be represented as generic 'Top [Position]' awards in EA CFB 25. Will this detract from your experience? Tuesday afternoon, Kirk Herbstreit joined YouTube show 'Streit Talk' hosted by his sons Tye and Jake. While he is under an NDA and also unaware of full game aspects and features, the elder Herbstreit did drop some game news and nuggets.

Following the reveal of seven ESPN personalities joining the title, the community began to wonder if multiple broadcast announce teams were a possibility. Just minutes into the show Kirk stated "I think there's gonna be as you're doing different games, there will be different broadcast teams doing the game. Yeah, yeah...That'll be a major, major difference between what it's been in the past and what they're gonna do now."

Monday morning, the EA SPORTS College Football 25 social media accounts shared that in just 12 days after offering them contracts, over 10,000 student-athletes had already opted in to appear in the game ahead of the reported April 30 deadline to decide.

To put this number into perspective, if EA offered 85 players (as rumored) on all 131 teams (service academy players are not yet eligible to opt-in), then 11,135 contracts were offered in total. If 10,000 opted in, that would mean nearly 90% of players will be in the game as of today. Two other ways to put this number into scale: it would be the equivalent of all but 12 full teams being in the game or an average of just 8-9 holdouts per school with over eight weeks to go. Later in the day, VP of Global Marketing, Communications, and Partnerships for EA SPORTS John Reseburg tweeted that more players "are joining every hour."

However, on Monday evening Anwar Richardson of OrangeBloods.com tweeted that multiple people had told him that Texas QB Arch Manning would be opting out of appearing in the title in order to 'focus on playing football on the field.' Partaking in NIL deals has been very rare for the former highly coveted recruit. To date, his only accepted agreement has been with Panini America where proceeds from an event ($100,000) went to a Central Texas non-profit. ...

Courtesy Noah Henderson at FanNation, the process of getting players from the service academies into EA SPORTS College Football 25 is at a standstill as the schools work towards gaining approval for allowing player likeness into the title. While the three service academies (Air Force, Army, Navy) will be in the game, the actual players are currently unable to opt-in.

Federal law prohibits student-athletes at service academies from participation in NIL engagements as it would see them using public office for private gain. EA SPORTS & the academies dropped the $600 payment to avoid said conflict with the law, but that is still not enough to get the players into the game. ...

EA SPORTS College Football 25 will feature a new public address announcer: Army football and basketball play-by-play announcer Rich DeMarco.

A long-time fan of the title, DeMarco built an in-home studio in his attic to record his lines using recording equipment sent to him by EA SPORTS. In approximately 40 hours of recordings, DeMarco recorded lines fitting for both home and away teams, school-specific lines, and even lines for rare situations. ...
