A new video blog from MLB The Show 16 details some of the improvements coming to Road to the Show (RTTS).

This year in RTTS, users can play a series of games without having to go to the main menu which should allow for more games completed in less time. Changes to the training system allow users to utilize specific gameplay perks to help them excel. ShowTime is a new way to slow down the action in critical moments to help give the user more control.

The perks system has been a source of some debate and concern by the community as some worry that it could be gimmicky and ruin the purity of the mode.

The next MLB 16 livestream is tentatively scheduled for February 4 at 2 PM PT on Twitch with a deep dive look at Road to the Show improvements and the new ShowTime feature.

As Ultimate Team has become the most-played mode in Madden NFL, many long-time fans have claimed that the rise of MUT came at the expense of other modes, such as Connected Franchise. To begin the pre-release news cycle for Madden NFL 16, EA SPORTS levied a lengthy blog detailing some of the changes and improvements coming to the game's career mode.

Throughout the mode, a revamped and streamlined user interface helps users see more pertinent information in one location. This even permeates in-game action as users will be given in-game goals and post-play goal feedback. Some of this feedback appears at the bottom of the screen in a 'ticker,' which has some wondering if scores of other games and perhaps even stats will be shown there, similarly to that found in NCAA Football.

Other improvements include new scouting and combine stats, draft feedback, free practice, and tuning to confidence and owner mode finances. Worth noting are two new commissioner tools: Members List and Sim W/L. The description for Members List sounds similar to that of Dynasty Central in NCAA Football and Sim W/L was a heavily requested feature for Online Dynasty Commissioners for years.

While many of the changes were warranted if not directly requested, some in the community have expressed reservations towards the heavy focus on an XP system and perhaps too heavy of use of numbers throughout the mode. Check out the official EA SPORTS blog and an article from Game Informer with additional CFM details then share your thoughts with the community. ...

Building upon the Universal Profile system from previous versions of the game, Universal Rewards will give the user XP and Stubs that can provide rewards and items that be used across numerous game modes.

This year MLB 15 will include authentic equipment from manufacturers including Franklin, Louisville Slugger, Nike, Under Armour, Wilson, Rawlings, Sam Bat, Mizuno, and Marucci. Similar to equipping licensed apparel in the Tiger Woods PGA TOUR franchise, each item will provide boost(s) to specific attributes for a player.

The video reveal concludes by showcasing the 30 MLB Legends that users can earn through Diamond Dynasty and then utilize in Franchise Mode.

While EA SPORTS never gave a release date for EA SPORTS PGA TOUR except for a vague 'Spring 2015,' which was expected to come before March 31. However, today EA announced that the golf title has been pushed to the first quarter of fiscal 2016, which means the game should launch between April and June 2015. (Tiger 14 launched in March 2013, so this will leave a gap of over two years between golf titles from EA SPORTS.)

EA SPORTS cancelled Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 15, which was expected to be outsourced and developed by HB Studios. The Canadian developer then shifted their focus and resources into developing The Golf Club.

PGA TOUR will utilize the Frostbite 3 Engine (from the Battlefield franchise) and based on the early teaser video is expected to feature dynamically changing courses. There has been no indication on possible features in the game, but the longer development time following the cancellation of TW15 and now this delay has raised some hopes for new, exciting features in the franchise.

Every year, the designers of the NCAA Football franchise at EA Tiburon set out to make a game that simulates football just like its more popular older brother, the Madden NFL series except they have to differentiate their game by ensuring that it plays like college football instead of pro football.

Part of that differentiation is, in a sense, forced on the NCAA Football developers. These days, publisher Electronic Arts launches Madden seven weeks after it releases NCAA Football the college football title typically comes out in early July, while Madden launches at the end of August. While the games are developed on an annual cycle that means Madden doesn't get extra development time, per se, innovations often come to Madden first.

We don't know yet what the Madden team has in store for Madden NFL 25, but this year's entry in the NCAA Football series, NCAA Football 14, is catching up in a few key respects when it comes to gameplay.

Last year, NCAA overhauled its passing game. The gameplay makeover continues in NCAA Football 14, due out in July for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The first reveal for the game details developer EA Tiburon's focus on improving Madden's Infinity Engine, as well as some unique college football additions.

EA Tiburon decided not to integrate the Infinity Engine into NCAA 13. The physics engine used in Madden NFL 13 (which came out months after NCAA 13) aimed to realistically replicate hits to multiple parts of the body, but ended up being inconsistent and unsatisfactory. With the benefit of more time with the engine, EA Tiburon feels the engine has moved forward and is capable of more nuances. Impacts such as stiff arms, hit stick tackles, and dive tackles now jar the ball carrier appropriately. The team says it is also cleaning up the engine's previous failings (such as players flopping around on the ground due to minor contact) and not just heaping on features it can't handle. We'll have to wait until we get our hands on a build of the game before we can get a judge on how the engine is progressing.

On the NCAA Football 11 website a new blog has been posted by developer Ben Haumiller talking about the changes made to the play calling system in NCAA Football 11:

The most important screen in the game without a doubt is the play call screen. This is where you need to make quick strategic decisions. It is of the utmost importance that everything is available to you quickly and easily; especially when going up against an up tempo, no-huddle offense.

With that in mind we determined that the play call screen needed to be streamlined for NCAA Football 11. A lot of the Play Call features I'll be talking about have been in previous versions of the game, our goal wasn't to blow everything up and start from scratch, however, we wanted to make it feel as if all of your playbook options were always at your fingertips. In this blog, we will go into those updates as well as talk about the crucial role the NCAA community members had in shaping the final version of the screen.
