• NBA Live 15 - Gameplay Improvements: Offense

EA SPORTS has posted a blog and video briefly detailing the offensive improvements coming to NBA LIVE 15.

This year, the fast break is more effective with the ability to pass ahead to teammates on the go and they will now fill the proper lanes in transition. The pick and roll system takes a page from NBA LIVE 10 and will provide visual feedback to show if the screener will slip, roll, or pop after the pick. The playcalling system has now been streamlined to the directional pad, allowing users a quicker way to get the offense started and in motion.

A major complaint from NBA LIVE 14, the shot feedback system has been refined to show Shot Timing and Shot Quality. The player indicator will show if the player is in his range and quality (open, somewhat guarded, closely guarded) and the Shot Timing text will indicate if the release was at early, perfect, or late.

Continue on to see the full blog and video showing some of the offensive improvements coming to NBA LIVE 15.

Offensive Improvements in NBA LIVE 15

NBA LIVE 15 includes significant improvements to the AI with regards to fast breaks, pick and rolls and playcalling.

In NBA LIVE 14, teammates were often slow to respond on fast break opportunities, and their overall positioning would be off.

This year, we’ve improved the AI to run a proper fast break by filling their proper lanes.

The improvements also extend to pick and rolls. We’ve added a feedback system that shows if screeners will pick, pop or roll to the rim for a bucket.

Playcalling has been simplified, allowing players to call quick action plays at the press of a button. This will get your players moving on offense by setting screens, cutting to the basket, or getting to open spots on the floor. Use this to quickly exploit a mismatch or opportunity once it presents itself.

    SHOT FEEDBACK

NBA LIVE 15 includes a new Shot Feedback system that gives you insight into two things: Shot Timing and Shot Quality.

Shot Timing is displayed in the top left corner of the screen as either Early, Slightly Early, Great, Slightly Late, or Late. You want to release your shot at the top of your player’s shooting animation for the best result.

    SHOT QUALITY

The outer ring shows a player's shot rating from different areas on the court. The better a shooter is from a particular spot, the more bars you’ll see. Open looks are indicated with a green meter, while a yellow/red meter shows that your player is guarded.

That looks nice but I hope we get some extended gameplay soon. I'm hoping for a demo too.
