Not even giving me a chance to post it anymore, eh? ;)

Looks like the noon games on ESPN and ESPN2 either still need decided or they're doing a crazy regional breakdown ...Northwestern at Minnesota, Miami (FL) at Clemson, Virginia Tech at NC State OR Florida St. at Virginia.

Navy at Air Force on Versus will be a welcome sight by 2:30.

Ha! Sorry - just wanted to get it posted while I was thinking of it. ;)

My list of games I'm looking forward to this week:

Texas A&M at Oklahoma State
Wisconsin at Michigan State
Florida at Alabama
Stanford at Oregon
Texas vs. Oklahoma

I can't decide yet if I'm looking forward to Florida/Alabama. Not expecting a good contest.

Stanford/Oregon should be the class of the day. Oklahoma/Texas might just be a contest of who plays worse.

So many bad games next week ... ugh.

I agree with Jeff, what a disappointing week this week. So many great games on at all hours of the day last week. This week? Meh.

But still some gold nuggets mixed in.

Navy at Air Force
Wisconsin at Michigan St.
Texas vs. Oklahoma
Florida at Alabama
Notre Dame at Boston College (just to watch Notre Dame suck it up and lose again :D)
Penn St. at Iowa
Stanford at Oregon

Unless Boston College comes to play inspired (which is possible since it is ND), I can't fathom ND losing that game.

The Big East's lone win against teams from Automatic Qualifying conferences is against the ACC. They're 1-10 overall. The ACC is 3-1 against the Big East, and 0-9 against everyone else. Combined, the ACC & Big East are 0-16 against other Automatic Qualifiers.

Anybody who's not watching A&M and the Pokes is watching an epic 2nd half fail by the Aggies.

14-0 Aggies until late in the 2nd quarter, then 21-7 at halftime.

It's now 35-21, Pokes, 12:47 left in the 4th.

Jerrod Johnson has 4 turnovers tonight.

Turnovers, Turnovers, Turnovers. They are the difference in just about every football game.

What a game. Johnson with a career night, yet a horrible night at the same time.

Good game to kick off the week....and next week, games start on Tuesday :))

I hate Tuesday games. I always forget them.

Damn it! I feel asleep until the VERY end of the game. Game was tied at 21-21 and then I wake up for a moment and OSU had won by a FG. I was like, "Wow, must have been one hell of a game"...

I love them just because there's now football on every day of the week. Regardless of the matchup.

Can't believe my Aggies let that one slip away. I still think Jerrod Johnson will be in the Heisman race even after his costly mistakes. 40 out of 62 for 409 yards and 5 touchdowns is a great outing any day.

He'll have to get the attention of some people more on national TV then...I don't even see him listed yet on Stiff Arm Trophy:

Maybe that will change next week though.

man how far has BYU fallen? Down 31-3 to Utah State

JeffHCross
10-01-2010, 09:42 PM
I think you've actually got two factors here. Utah State has risen up out of nowhere this year ... I'm actually beginning to believe that their result against Oklahoma was legit.

The other thing is that Air Force, and now Utah State, have both rolled BYU. So what we honestly might have is Utah State and Air Force being nearly equal ... where BYU is just a cut below.

Doesn't bode well for their new ESPN deal though. Damn.

morsdraconis

Hopefully they rebound by 2015 when WVU plays them in a home and home deal...

6-0 in Pick Em' unless Kensucky makes a miraculous comeback.

I got Navy with the points. Looks like a low scoring affair.

Geez ESPN, let's make it complicated tonight ...

Everyone's going to need this: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?page=coveragemaps2010

For me (and most of the East Coast + Big Ten + random parts of Montana and North Dakota) ...
ABC: Notre Dame @ Boston College
ESPN: Penn State @ Iowa
ESPN2 Standard Definition: Stanford at Oregon
ESPN2 HD: Washington @ USC

So the game I REALLY want to see ... standard definition only. Great.

JeffHCross
10-02-2010, 05:32 PM
LSU essentially uses rhombic's Edge Blitz concept to stop Tennessee on 4th and 1. They lined up 3 linemen and 2 backers starting at the center and going left. 5 linemen on 5 defenders. Inexplicably, the guard helps the center double team the NT on an outside run. And the guy on the end of the line goes after the DB that's off to the side. So now it's 4 on 2. LSU easily stops them.

HWill
10-02-2010, 05:52 PM
I have never seen a game end the way I just saw the Tennessee-LSU game end. Wow.

JeffHCross
10-02-2010, 06:06 PM
Screw Les Miles and LSU. Luck into a win ... quite literally. LSU has :28 seconds left on the clock and 3rd and Goal from the 1+1/2. The don't manage to actually get a play off, because the ball is snapped with :02 to go and the QB isn't looking for it, so it goes flying backwards.

This is largely because LSU, inexplicably, decided to run a different personnel grouping into the game with :28 seconds to go and no timeouts. In the confusion, Tennessee swaps some people too ... and ends up with 13 guys on the field. 4 went off, 4 went on ... except one of the guys turned around and stayed on. 5+3=2, guys.

LSU is the worst #10 team ever. They better drop like a rock in the polls tomorrow.

My perfect run has ended. :(

Still 9-3 so far this week.

Missed NC State; Michigan and LSU.

Smooth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Where are you?! Time for Navy to get beat!

Yeah, I was sleeping. Fridays/Saturdays are my days of hell. Work 10am straight through to midnight on Fridays (thanks to regular work stuff and then HS football broadcasts Friday night) and then I don't even get to go to sleep, as I am out the door and on the road by 2:30-3am to head to the other radio station I work at to do my morning show that I have on Saturday mornings, not getting home until after 10am and maybe getting to sleep by around 10:30 or 11.

So I pretty much miss any and every game on TV before 4 or 5pm. Add in the fact that I stayed awake until 1pm or so, so that I could watch a couple extra hours of the Ryder Cup on NBC, and it was around 7pm before I woke up.

But, my congrats to Air Force. I knew it was only a matter of time and this year they got the job done and were able to win. Every single Air Force-Navy game since 2003 (with the exception of 2007) has been won by 7 points or less, and even 2007 was only by 11 points. So it's been a very close game every year and I knew it would be so again this year.

Now to do something I never do. I hope Army wins when they play Air Force in a couple weeks. If Army beats Air Force, Navy just needs to beat Army at the end of the year and Navy will retain the C-I-C Trophy as the previous winner.

As I said in the other thread, knew Stanford would shit the bed and blow the big game. I don't know what it is about them, but they always blow the big games, especially at the other team's stadium. That team just cannot win big games anymore.

JeffHCross
10-03-2010, 10:46 PM
That team just cannot win big games anymore. The team that won @ USC, beat Oregon, and has two straight against Notre Dame can't win a big game "anymore"? Hell, you're associating the word "anymore" with a team that Walt Harris drove into the ground, and had only two winning seasons in the '00 decade.

Stanford didn't shit the bed in my eyes ... Oregon is just a freaking buzzsaw once they start rolling.
