Big game tonight with National Title hopes hinging on the outcome. With the Wisconsin Badgers traveling to Happy Valley to take on the Nittany Lions in what could be a game for the ages. With both teams having a slight chip on their shoulders after last year this game is sure to not disappoint.

Tommy, can you record the game (figuring you would) my Laptop is acting up and needs some attention and I haven't looked at it yet.

Oh I almost forgot about the matchup on the west coast in the Pac 10, but I guess that just about sums it up. Have a good night all!

HAHAHAHA

USC vs Texas should be a good test to see if Papa can keep the Longhorns on pace to win a second national championship. USC however is coming in poised and focused on the upset and really playing up the underdog roll. If USC can hold off the early surge from the Longhorns this contest could be interesting late.

#8 Oklahoma loses Jones, but Allen's late TD pass to Stills gives Sooners 46-42 in cheese-fest performance by UCLA.

1. Jonathan Franklin broke 18 tackles, and rushed for 142 yards.
2. When he wasn't in the backfield, star WR Nelson Rosario was, and he caught 7 passes for 185 yards. WTF? Throwing to your best WR in the flats vs a DE isn't cool, and they did it alot.
3. Extreme amount of pancakes. 33 for UCLA.
4. UCLA jumped the snap at least 90 percent of the time on defense. Not cool.

When it was all said and done, we somehow won it down Ray King, Jermie Calhoun and Landry Jones who were all injured late.

Landry Jones threw for 446 yards and 2 TDs, while Calhoun rushed for 127 yards and a TD.

Ryan Broyles caught 8 passes for 133 yards, and Miller had 7 grabs for 197 and a TD.

But when it was all said and done, it was Drew Allen's 17 yard TD pass to Kenny Stills, as the redshirt freshman caught his first collegiate TD at the right time to get the W as Oklahoma moves to 8-1.

Looks like the Wiscy/PSU game was an old fashion slug fest. 25 passes between the two teams and a lot of rushing yards.

psusnoop
09-21-2010, 07:40 AM
That game featured two very strong rushing attacks. The difference in the game was the turnover battle. PSU intercepted Wisky two times.

With just over 2 minutes remaining in the game Wisky recovered an onside kick. At that point I went from comfortable to really really uncomfortable. I was really worried about the pass that last drive and you gave me a healthy dose of Clay for I think 3 straight runs to get inside the 35yd line of PSU. I kept playing the pass though worried that my Line wouldn't get there fast enough I mixed in Nickle Cover 1, Nickle ROLB Blitz, and Nickle (hmm forget the name but man all the way and bringing both LB'rs), the last of which my RS SO CB Derrick Thomas came up with the pick to seal the win.

Green coming back from injury was still listed as probably yet the staff felt that his practice time on Thursday and Friday was enough to give him the nod and Green responded with 25 Carries for 255yds and 3TD's. His counterpart though Clay had an equally impressive day with 23 Carries for 225yds and 2TD's. Both staffs really relied on the running game, Coach Snoop mentioned that for his team to have a good chance they would have to try to control the clock and keep Clay off the field as much as possible.

Penn State finishes the season with road games at Minnesota and Michigan State.

Looks like you will end the season undefeated and likely to face Papa in the MNC if he can get past USC. It should be an interesting match-up as it will be a completely different game than those spread pass happy teams he faces out west. Here in the Big 10 we bring power to the table....and top 10 teams.

The Pac 10 might have 1 championship on their belts but the truth be told, the real powerhouse conference is the Big 10.:D

It's cool....I totally understand....trust me. That's why I was bummed that we couldn't get it in Sunday evening. I don't have the sexiest schedule for user games. I've been very lucky so far. The 1st year....I played ID and Kingpin during the same Friday night (Oneback and Kingpin happened to be online after Texas/OU)....then I played Prime in the national title game and the 2nd season Texas/OU on Saturdays....then I left early from work during the weekday (due to being sick) and was able to play Kingpin this season.

Fellas not sure if you've read this but

http://www.destructoid.com/playstation-network-undergoing-maintenance-today-184483.phtml

PSN will be undergoing some scheduled maintenance today, meaning you won't be able to access it for a somewhat lengthy period of time. The service is expected to go down around 8 am (Pacific Daylight Savings Time) and won't be back until 5 pm (again, Pacific). Now, granted, the average person has work or some other responsibilities to take up their time during this period, unlike nocturnal bloggers whose work shift should be wrapping up around then.
But what if you wanted to partake of some of the fine PSN offerings making their way into the PlayStation Store today? Not to worry. The PlayStation Store has updated early with this week's content, so you have a chance to grab it before the network shuts down

The one thing that could and very well might be the nail in the coffin is that PSU does not play in week 14 or 15. So that is going to do nothing but hurt the chances of PSU (if they win their last two) in making the MNC game.

If that is the case I'll load up my schedule with USC, Oregon (assuming Kingpin still switches), Miami, and Texas.....LOL

Not at all. After your showing with the Gamecocks on 10....I was very shocked that you didn't finish undefeated last season (I think I mentioned it to Oneback through AIM a month ago). Nickle Over Storm Brave. Only had to think about it for about 1.5 secs.

Ohio State dominates Purdue in every facet of the game, again running the backup heavy strategy to keep their starters healthy. It proved smart too, as both starting HB Pepe Pearson and backup HB Joe Montgomery were sidelined with minor injuries during the game.

Pearson, Montgomery, and Charlie Sanders combine for 204 yards rushing and 3 TDs, with each getting a single score. Ohio State wins 37-3.

Ohio State welcomes the struggling Iowa Hawkeyes to Columbus before traveling to Ann Arbor to finish the season.

Great game in Pasadena - USC won the toss and deferred. Texas took the ball and was picked on the 3rd play of the game(1 of 3 picks on the day). USC moved the ball right down the field and scored on a 3 yard run by Marc Tyler. Texas got the ball back and the Trojan defense held again and got the ball back to their offense. USC moved the ball pretty easy again and scored on a 23 yard run by Marc Tyler. Then the #1 Texas Longhorns offense and defense kicked in. Texas proceeded to move the ball methodically down the field but the USC defense held strong in the redzone and forced a field goal. 14-3 USC end of 1.

Second Quarter was dominated by Texas. The defense shut down the Trojans and the offense moved the ball really well and brought it back to 14-10 on a 10 yard TD pass to Malcolm Williams. The Trojans did look determined late in the 2nd quarter to put some points on the board and then get the ball back in the 2nd half but Barkley through a pick in the end zone that was return to the house by Ben Wells. A 10, possibly 14 point swing in points right there and could have been a dagger to Texas. Texas takes the lead into the half 17-14.

Third Quarter was back and forth and both teams exchanged TDs - end of 3, Texas 24-21.

The 4th Quarter was as exciting as they come. Texas scored early in the 4th(6:12) on a Chris Whaley 32 yard run to take a 10 point lead and seemingly control of the game. USC took the ball back and marched right down the field to bring it back to within 3 on a Tyler 9 yard run with 4:33 to play. The Trojan defense then stepped up and stuffed the run on 1st and 2nd down and forced 3rd and long and came up with their 3rd pick of the day and set the offense up with a chance to win the game. Barkley lead the team down the field and Tyler punched it in with 40 seconds left from the 2 - USC 35-31.

The fireworks weren't quite over as the Longhorns moved the ball to about the 50 and took 4 strikes to the endzone. Gilbert threw the 1st 3 out of the back of the endzone but the 4th as time expired bounced off the TEs hands and incomplete.

Overall great, great game

Barkley - 234 yards 1 TD, 1 INT
Tyler - 150 yards 4 TD
Robert Woods 4 catches 72 yards

Gilbert 194 yards 1 TD 3 INT
Whaley 134 yards 2 TD
Howard 3 catches 74 yards.

That's state law, actually.

"However, the "The" was actually part of the state legislation when the university was renamed in 1878. The following excerpt is from the Board of Trustee minutes:

"...the educational institution heretofore known as the 'Ohio Agricultural and Mechanical College,' shall be known and designated hereafter as 'The Ohio State University.'"

Those who wanted the name change thought the original name was too narrow in scope, and that it was inadequate for the institution that was the only beneficiary of the land grant act. President Edward Orton was insistent that a new name would separate the institution from other colleges in Ohio."

Learn something new everyday. I just thought it was something cool that everyone says.About half of us, at the school, don't like it, while the other half embraces it. A lot of people thought we were doing it to be pompous (which, realistically, most of the people that say it are). But the school officially includes "The" (so does Penn State, for what it's worth), and one of my professors said that it was in their contract to include "The" whenever they said "Ohio State" (or maybe "Ohio State University", can't remember).

It's a weird thing, to be honest.

I'll be looking for that rematch next year. Jamie Harper aka Sir Fumbalot will be gone, and I will have my two SS positions right. The one person in my secondary besides my FS who isn't on the Thorpe watch list was getting burned all game. I swear Jamie Harper decides to fumble at the worst times. Once on my own 20 then again about to go in for a TD, and he's supposed to be my inside RB.

Yeah, I didn't have to use all of my time, that's why it didn't mark me.
