Buffalo? Wtf? You know it's not 1991, right? :D

Cleveland not being in 4th in the North just doesn't seem realistic either but that is years of conditioning, facts and bias speaking. ;)

Always gotta take a shot at someone in the NFL as usually someone comes out of nowhere. I'm not jumping on the Jacksonville bandwagon like everyone else. I think Buffalo has a lot of promise.

Pick four teams that should not make it to the AFC/NFC Championship game.
Hopes that one miraculously makes it to Super Bowl, not caring about the fate of the other three.

again with your complete lack of critical thought.

I dont care who the Vikings and Colts go up against, theyll still win their games. But I doubt I'll be wrong about the majority of teams that make the playoffs.

dont have chance? lol youll try to say I was lucky when its over.
let see yours, you talking on the sidelines fool. Oh,thats right, you dont have the balls to do it. Or, like a child, youll make some random picks thinking that you're mimicking what I'm doing.
Nope, I picked those teams for specific reasons. My 12 that make the playoffs will be closer to what happens than anyone else's here.

miracles? you believe every miracle, every week in sports without questioning anything. When someone speaks truth to you you turn your head sideways like a confused puppy,
after years of Pavlovian bullpucky.

I don't like keep the Buffalo pick either. They have quite a few injuries and I'm not sold on Rex Ryan there. He wrecked that defence in moving away from the 3-4 and Shady McCoy doesn't have much left imo. I think a more interesting team may be the Bucs. I think they won't finish last. I think Jax is not going to be as cool a pick come December. Bortles is getting too much love at the moment.

I'd love to say Miami will make the playoffs but that's really a stretch. I think the offence should be decent but the defence has too many question marks. Even on offence a guy like WR Parker is needed but can't stay healthy. He's immature at this point and not professional. They just found out he didn't normally eat breakfast and wasn't drinking enough. He needs to be smarter to avoid hamstring pulls and nagging things.

Why is it that the Giants grab two corners and like two defensive lineman in Free Agency and the draft and, all of a sudden, a team that couldn't defend a high school offense is going to be the winner of the NFC East? People need to stop drinking the blue koolaid.

Redskins will win the NFC East. Dallas is screwed (Prescott is talented, but that was preseason - when the season starts, it'll be loss after loss again just like every other backup after Romo goes down). Philly will be the bottom of the conference. Dallas and the Giants will fight over second and the Skins will go 10-6.

Rudy

Mors, what if Cousins isn't that good? I think Eli is the best qb in the division when Romo is hurt. I think the Giants should do well.

Smooth, you could have at least put Miami in first place in your dumb pick segment!

Cousins is that good. You don't put up the best 9 weeks of football as a QB in the league off of luck. Cousins is the real deal. The Redskins are still probably another two years away from being real contenders (gotta shore up the offensive and defensive line more), but Cousins is the man at QB.

Eli may be the more proven QB, but that team still can't defend a high school team until I see otherwise. They had the second worst defenses EVER. You don't just rebound from that with a 2-3 free agent signings and drafting 1-2 dudes for that side of the ball. They allowed 420.3 ypg (6725 yards on the season). That puts them at second most yards allowed on defense EVER behind that atrocious New Orleans defense in 2012 that allowed a NFL record 7042 yards. You simply don't just bounce back so quickly from a defense that plays that poorly. Will it be better? Sure. But there's no way they win the division with that shit of a defense.

steelerfan
09-09-2016, 03:17 PM
I think Cousins is ok but if you dig into his numbers he wasn't all that (example would be the one Rudy posted about most yards from passes within 2 yards of the LOS). Also, Washington had 0 wins against winning teams last year. They were the best of a bad division and they might be again.

Rudy
09-09-2016, 04:09 PM
Yup. Cousins stats were incredibly inflated due to simple throws less than two yards downfield that his recievers turned into massive production. That doesn't mean he is bad at all. But I need to see him do it again. Redskins were smart to franchise him and keep it to one year.

morsdraconis
09-09-2016, 10:01 PM
He's in the west coast offense and it's built around throwing the ball short and getting guys in space that can make things happen. Cousins has a sick deep ball. Probably one of the pretties deep balls I've ever seen. Also, our offensive line is atrocious. Thus the short passing game. We would throw on 1st down to keep the defense from just stacking the box against our run game as well.

No. And Pittsburgh, with an average defense that includes a less-than-average secondary, made Cousins look bad. Tonight was a good summary of what I think of him - he's ok.

JBHuskers
09-14-2016, 09:31 AM
That's the great thing about the NFL, it's nearly impossible to pick, that's why I went on a limb with Buffalo. I felt like the trio of Tyrod, Watkins, and Shady would be very solid this year and the defense would be above average. Then week one happened, but at least it's only week one, but it's hard telling how effective Watkins is going to be going forward.

Rudy

Or the fact that it is Buffalo.
Or the fact that they are coached by Rex Ryan.

There is some good news for the Bills. (http://www.newyorkupstate.com/buffalo-bills/index.ssf/2016/09/buffalo_bills_coach_rex_ryan_explains_why_he_got_h is_lap_band_removed.html)

In fact, Ryan hasn't made the playoffs since he first got the lap band in. Maybe this was all the Bills needed to end the drought.

Raiders keep up their current pace, he will have been right about them being a #1 or #2 seed currently as well.

Gets credit for that...because even die hard Raider fans couldn't have predicted, dreamed or fantasized about their play or record up to this point of season. Let alone being in play for a top seed in AFC.

Rudy
12-05-2016, 07:21 PM
Look at both the Raiders and Cowboys. They have arguably the best ones in the league and their offences are great as a result. Your offence can't run or pass if your line stinks. The Dolphins have proved that the last four years. Their line is ok this year when healthy. They need Pouncey back.

Good job, fucktard. You got 1 division winner right (Steelers). Statistically, a monkey could get 2 since you have 8 chances at a 1 in 4 probability.

5 of 12 playoff teams were right and only 1 of your 4 conference finalists made the playoffs. Both Super Bowl teams are OUT.

Wow, I got all the AFC division champs and 6 out of 8 overall.

Cards were terrible this year but my pick as Pats being champs are looking good considering the Pats are off Rd. 1 and play a team with no legit QB in Rd. 2. Then they'll host whomever survives Steelers/Chiefs. Meanwhile, the NFC is will be full of toss up games where I could literally see either team playing winning the game in all scenarios. The Pats are like Daryl from The Walking Dead. They're on Easy St. https://youtu.be/JoQ4GidQP-k

No guarantees they improve upon this season. They won a lot of close games. They need Tannehill to be healthy but their defense needs a lot of work, especially at LB. Vance Joseph didn't do a particularly great job with the defense imo but he's a leader of men and the players loved and respected him. Hopefully he will do well in Denver.

Yeah, I don't know much about Vance, but he seems to be getting a lot of praise in the news and in Denver, so hopefully he ends up being a good head coach. Broncos still have a good roster, just have to tighten the defense back up to what it was a couple years ago and sort out the QB issue.

We'll see what the Dolphins can do. If they can get a couple good players in the draft, get Tannehill healthy and get a good coach to replace Joseph, they could at least be in the running for a wild card again next year.

This season just reinforced the idea to me that the trenches are crucial to success. An offence cannot function well without a good OL. Defence is crucial too. Look at the Cowboys OL. Great. Same with the Raiders. They can mask a lot of things.

Yeah, everyone harps about the QB or RB or good WRs, but you can't do crap without a good OL to protect those players and give your plays time to open up.

Still got my Super Bowl champ alive and half my conference championship picks. If Kansas City hadn't shat themselves, I would have still had both SB teams and 3/4 CCG teams.

JB got Green Bay right too, and we split on AFC teams, I got the Patriots right, he got the Steelers right. Bill didn't do a full playoff pick, but does still have the Patriots alive in his Super Bowl pick.

Meanwhile, Nostradumbass had a whopping 2 divisional round teams right and exactly ZERO conference championship and Super Bowl teams correctly picked.

Nice job Nostradumbass!
