Well we got off to a good start in night one. I guess there were some people chomping at the bit to get back out on the digital field. Currently we are just waiting on the Miami (texacotea) vs Va Tech (skip) game and Texas Tech (Kingpin) vs Oklahoma (Iron Dragon) game. Other than those two we've got Jeff's game vs Northwestern and g's game against Purdue and two guys (both psu's) that have bye weeks.

Hopefully we will be able to advance soon.

I'll be playing when I get home tonight. Yesterday I didn't get home until after 8:30 for the third straight night, so I was too tired to spend an hour against Northwestern.

Ohio State rolls Northwestern, 39-0. The backups play the vast majority of the snaps, as Ohio State coach JeffHCross rotates his 1st and 2nd team on alternate drives throughout the entire game, then lets the backups play the entire 4th quarter.

Senior DT Shane Clark makes a move into the starting lineup with a 4 solo tackle, 1 sack performance, utterly dominating the Wildcats line whenever he was on the field.

Backup QB Stanley Jackson is lost for the game, but thankfully early in the contest. Combined with the injury to WR Buster Tillman earlier in the season, that's two costly injuries at two of the thinnest Buckeye positions. Former high school QB, now cornerback Ahmed Plummer, would come into the game with the 2nd team and perform admirably, also playing with the defense throughout the game.

In other news ... so, how 'bout that contest for the rushing title?

JeffHCross
09-17-2010, 10:02 PM
By the way Oneback, I was considerably more impressed with Northwestern's rush defense than I was by Indiana's. So it must have been the ratings last week that contributed to my ridiculous rushing.

First one to 100 wins as TTU and Oklahoma are tied at 21.. after one quarter. Longest TD drive has been probably one minute.

Jermie Calhoun had an incredible 77 yard TD run on third and 20 to end the quarter.

Oklahoma's late fake FG TD, forced fumble inside the red zone gives #8 Oklahoma 45-38 victory

"I wasn't coming out of there with just three. That's why it was a perfect time to call a fake. We weren't going to give them a chance to tie it or win it, just a chance to tie it at the end. Allen threw a perfect pass and Millard struggled across the goalline to score the game-winning TD.", said coach Dragon.

After a 21-21 first quarter, and a 35-28 Oklahoma halftime lead, TT jumped out to a 38-35 lead headed for the game's final quarter where the Sooners put up the game's final ten points, and the game-winning TD on a fake FG from the 12 on fourth and four. The Sooners went for it because they didn't feel comfortable only being up three.

Then down on the other side of the field, less than a minute later, David King gets the first sack of the day at the right time, forcing a fumble and Tom Wort recovered. Faced with a 3rd & 8, the Red Raiders blitzed leaving FB Marshall Musil open for a first down reception to seal the game and ID's first user-user victory in this dynasty.

TDs of over 40+ yards (all in the first quarter, all in a row)
1st - Franks 41 yard rec from Young - TTU
1st- Calhoun 49 yard TD run - OU
1st - Zouzalik 40 yard rec from Young - TTU
1st- Calhoun 77 yard TD run - OU

Landry Jones was 19-for-29 for 325 yards with one TD and one INT. Drew Allen was 1-for-1 with a TD. Scotty Young for TTU had 376 yards passing, 4 TDs and an INT and a fumble lost.

Jermie Calhoun rushed 19 times for 196 yards and 2 TDs. Roy Finch and Brandon Crow added TD runs.

Jaz Reynolds and Trey Millard caught TD passes.

David King had a sack and a FF. Tom Wort had a FR and an INT.

The Sooners improve to 7-1 (4-1) and keep BCS bowl hopes alive.

Iron Dragon

Also, I tried to do another "tricky play" for a TD on the drive before that. Came out in a jumbo formation and tried to throw the ball to the extra offensive tackle hoping the big fella could make the catch and that you'd try to stop the run part of the PA, but it didn't work out and we settled for three.

Good game again, by the way.
