user vs user in season mode?

I seem to have a similar issue with Madden.

My son wants to start a season on NHL 16. We want to play vs each other and I don't mind being the opponent in his season mode. How can we do this? When we start a season and get everything set up, once we get to the game we cannot move the opponent controller, it only allows use to be on the same team vs the CPU or 1 person vs the CPU.

Is it possible to play vs another human in season mode?

I don't have NHL 16 so I can only guess.

If it's possible, maybe you can set every team to be a USER team and then sim the games that you don't want to play.

So, for example, if your son wants to be Dallas you could play only their games (setting every team to USER would allow you to control Dallas's opponents) and then sim every other game on the schedule.
