I'm sure you've seen the commercials on TV for Beezid... basically advertises auctions that you can win items for 90% off (ad I saw showed a guy winning a brand new Mustang for under $1000). I decided to look into it and see what the catch is... while there is a catch, it's not nearly as bad as you might think.

Basically each time you bid, it costs you $.60. So basically if you bid 10 times on an item, you're out $6. So if a big screen TV sells for $100, that means there were 10,000 bids (each bid increases by 1 penny) and so the company made $6000 on a $1000 TV, but you go it for $900 off. It would just suck if you're on the losing end and bid quite a few times.

Anyway... has anyone ever used it? I'm at least intrigued by the idea.

It's got an interesting idea but from watching the main page, I see alot of items that go down to ":01" (really 6 seconds), or "going" (which is five seconds) comes up and it gets bid on, so the auctions could drag on hours and hours.

Actually I don't think the site has much traffic at non-peak times, so that'd be the only time to get some good deals, I guess.

I sat back and watched this for a little bit, and yeah I'm staying away from this. Looks like a load of crap to me.

I tried this with
http://http://www.swoopo.com/index.html?from=124_swoopo&cm_mmc_o=7BBTkwCjCPyzEpCjCmcBB5BCjCmwzygt&gclid=CP7WlfjV-KMCFZxo5QodhnWkLA

and lets just say after dumping 25 bucks 2 years ago I'll never do this again. It is a big scam and a HUGE money maker. It is good for the winner, but the winner better have lots of bids to stay in the game which after so long you find yourself commited to bidding at all cost to get such an item because you've invested so much already.

My advice is to stay away for what it's worth.

So I'm listening to Mike & Mike here at work and they're advertising ScoreIt.com which sounds like the exact same thing.
