the sad truth is they'll have the Pat's win this game even though its incredibly unrealistic to get to 6 SBs with the same player.

I hate that New England won (or got away with cheating that may or may not be discovered later, lol) but if Seattle had to lose this is a good way for it to happen. The Seahawks are assholes and Pete Carroll is a major dickwad. I love that he allowed that playcall. Dumb as shit.

Only if you let him.

Fact is, he was WRONG about EVERYTHING all year and then guessed right in a 50-50 at the end. Furthermore, he says when he is wrong that it disproves nothing. Therefore, when he is right, it proves nothing.

I don't think it is quite as bad but some CFB experts (and now NFL Network) are bringing up Pete not using Reggie Bush on the 4th & 2 vs Texas in the 2006 Rose Bowl (http://youtu.be/5nApYoEaPpE?t=1h55m48s).

Was Bush injured though? The PBP shows he only had three touches following his 26-yard TD early in the fourth (http://scores.espn.go.com/ncf/playbyplay?gameId=260040030&period=4).

The horseshoe finally fell out of the Seahawks asses. It was lodged up there really good for the Green Bay game and might have had two of them for the 4th quarter and all the miracle catches by nobodies in the Superbowl but it finally fell out on the final play.

As a Canadian I get Canadian commercials so I don't know what I missed but I loved the clash of clans commercial with Liam Neeson.

Rudy

The final call was very questionable but that was the 109th pass from the 1 yard line this year and first INT. Too cute a call but not the worst call ever.

The CB Butler who made the play said the scout team ran it in practice and he got beat. Belichick told him “You’ve got to be on that” so they were ready for that call. They even had 3 CBs in the game too. Belichick is the man and if I hear another Dolphins defender whine about the Dolphins defense being too complicated I will puke. Very different from Seattle's defense who keeps things simple and attacks while Bill is very methodical and requires smart players.

Great article on Bill: http://grantland.com/features/new-england-patriots-bill-belichick-coaching-legacy-super-bowl-seattle-seahawks/

I heard that story on Mike and Mike this morning. If Lockette had run one of those in-then-out routes like Edelman, he would've been wide open since the CB jumped so hard. Still though, if you insist on passing. at least play action to Lynch or read option with a passing option included.

Rudy
02-02-2015, 10:31 AM
I'm surprised those "spaghetti" routes (or whatever they want to call them) aren't used more in short yardage. DBs bite hard on them. Edelman was open the first time but Brady rushed and threw it too hard. The last TD had much better touch on it.

Rudy
02-02-2015, 12:16 PM
Marshawn Lynch had 5 rushes from the 1-yard line this season. He scored just ONCE.

skipwondah33
02-02-2015, 01:12 PM
I still like his chances of scoring in that situation over that play working...given the magnitude of the game and also given that those other 5 runs weren't in a game as important as the SB.

Put it this way I wouldn't even had tried a pass like that in Madden lol. That is definitely one of those "oh shit" moments when you let it go only to see the CB dart in front soon as the ball is released.

I'd ran a fade route before that play if I had to pass. Or at the very least another PA. Even if the pick didn't happen, the chance of the ball being batted up in the air and picked is also high risk.

JBHuskers

Most of them must have been from the 2 then because his conversion % was over 80 from the goal line.

They didn't just call a pass play though....they called a pass play to Ricardo Lockette...all 18 career receptions and 3 touchdowns to his entire name

Baldwin was so full of himself during the playoffs and talking about Deion...he should have lobbied for more than 1 pass attempt against Revis

Because he's an "aiight" WR like Deion said lol

And he needed the Ref's help on getting the one pass he did get

As much as he talked you would have thought his number surely could have been called down there or any time before then rather. Especially since Wilson as playing backyard football with all that time he had

Make no mistake. I believe running the ball was the best thing to do. But I do praise coaches that have the balls to go outside the box and do something different. Passing in those situations can be a good thing but that formation was not my choice. I'd have tried a play action pass to get someone wide open and just throw it away if I wanted to.

and if they complete it for a TD everyone is talking today about what a genius he is and what balls he has as the Pats expected run and he out coached Bill. That DB made a great play and that's all it was.

Like I said before, if they HAD to pass, run a play action pass or a read option pass. Everyone on Earth expected run so if you're going to pass, make it easier.

He damn near ran it in the play before. They simply got too cute at the wrong time. Happens all the time to coaches, as they over think the situation and outcoach themselves.

Worrying about leaving no time on the clock ended up costing them.

It was a great Defensive play but the best player on the field when they are on Offense is #24 everytime. And you always find a way for your best player to determine or decide the outcome IMO.

Ricardo Lockette isn't their best player or WR. I'd gone to Chris Matthews before him.
