I know some here are big on this mode and it looks like we've got some newcomers as well. CLW will need a place to vent when he starts playing randoms for his MUT Super Bowl trophy, so here we go.

I basically gave up on using my coins to buy packs because I wasn't getting anything. Managed to snag RGIII(10,750 coins), CJ Spiller(1,100 coins), and Nick Hardwick (4,000 coins) last night, so I was pretty happy with those, especially the C.J. Spiller. I'm pretty sure someone accidentally'd the buy it now price because he's going for 8k+ all day.

Also, needed RGIII, Newton, or Kaepernick to be able to run the offense I want to run, so I was pleased to be able to get one of them.

How's everyone's teams doing?

I'm at an 80 OVR right now. Got a duplicate of Tony Romo so I was able to sell that for 12k, that was nice. I like using Zac Stacy as my back, he's pretty effective at 79 OVR. My WR's are Garcon, Maclin, and Blackmon.

I'm at like 67 OVR. Played several MUT randoms and per usual its the same crap as always. Going to have to go with my 6 a.m. Sat-Sun strategy to whore out these trophies.

I don't have a problem with the concept I just wish you could play only friends or at least remotely even teams when matching up with randoms.

Yeah, I'm not spending any money on it. I've got my team up to 79 and I feel pretty good about them. I've already beaten a couple of guys who had stacked teams and probably spent hundreds of dollars on bundles. You can definitely build a competitive team without spending money...just takes some patience.

That's true especially if you pay close attention to auctions and find people that made mistakes on buy now prices with guys.

That's about it. Playing regular season solo challenges gets up there:

Game 1: 1250 coins
Game 2: 1500
Game 3: 1750
Game 4: 2000
Game 5: 2250
Game 6: 2500
Game 7: 2750
Game 8: 3000

All games are 3 minute quarters, so if you can stand playing the CPU that much, it's probably your best bet. I just play online and then switch to some solo challenges every now and then. The rewards get up there once you rank up a bunch in the head to head seasons, too.

Yep playing games and then selling cards on the auction block is the way to go. I sold a ton of cheap cards last night and then got lucky with some elite madden finalist card and sold it for like 11K in coins. It just takes a little time to check what your cards are going for at a buy now price on the market and making sure you are right near the bottom in terms of price and the cards tend to sell very quickly.

Played quite a few user v. user MUT games and I'm concerned that unless sliders work well there still isn't going to be much defense in a more "normal" length game.

Played 8 games of head to head and given up only 3 touchdowns, all 3 of which came on bombs down the sideline against Cover 2 Man...aka, shouldn't have happened. Defense is definitely there at least this early when people don't know what they're doing on offense.

Finished off my first Ultimate Team Head to Head season last night. Won my first game, lost my 2nd on a Hail Mary, then rattled off 7 straight to get a bye in the playoffs. Won the first playoff game handily. Conference Championship Game was my opponent's Super Bowl and easily the most east room I've played so far, but I beat him 15-14 after a go ahead score and 2 point conversion with like 30 seconds left. Then had a 10-0 win in the Super Bowl.

It seems like the coin payouts for the head to head stuff is much more this year. You end up unlocking a challenge to get a legendary coach, too, which is pretty cool. Final record was 11-1 with the average score of 14-5.

This is my first run at MUT, so I'm still trying to figure out things work. My team is a 68 overall, I've only played 1 user v user game. Lost it 9-7. The rest of the time I've been playing the training day games or solo challenges.

Yep most of the time it has been instant. Finally, got it mid this morning.

Also won by 1st MUT Super Bowl (didn't realize just getting to the super bowl was all you had to do trophy wise).

Now I just need to get my team to 85 ovr so i can whore out the two styles > 40 and I'll probably be finished with the mode. I have a pretty nice team though.

I did not last year. It's just not a mode I enjoy (playing randoms with eventually nothing more than 99 OVR players all over the field)

True, but with 3 minute quarters, ratings don't really come into play. Get 2 scores and manage the time properly = win regardless of ratings/random opponents' playing style.

I'll probably stick with it for a bit after I get all the achievements. I think coins should be easier to earn personally, but eh.

Had my first strange play, or CPU shaftage....I was playing the MUT team of the week (preseason) I held the CPU to 2 FGs. Was down 6-0 and I drove the field scored a TD with 0:32 left in the 4th quarter. I kicked off deep the CPU returner turned sideways, like he was "strafing" and proceeded to break 11+ tackles, I just kept bouncing off of him and he ran it back 90 yards for a TD. I could not stop it. BOOOOOOOOOO

I had an Elite Bill Walsh coach and I see he's going for a pretty penny, so I'll probably sell him and try to upgrade my defense a bit. After I get the defense upgraded, I'll probably start going exclusively after Elite players only.

Bought 2 packs with coins and pulled Matt Slauson in both of them. Sold them both for 22,000 a piece and then managed to snag a Trent Williams for 41,000. Just need a couple guards, a center, and my line will be complete.

Used some of my coins to get another Mike Evans and complete the Rising Stars set. Not only do I like the +3 OVR and the +14 GP, but I like the hologram overlay on the special card.

Yeah, 83 Mike Evans is a hammer and can be gotten for fairly cheap. Got both a SP and LP for 3,000 each, so 6,000 coins for the Elite version was a steal

6-0 in my 2nd season with a total record of 17-1. I've pulled 3 straight games in a row out of my ass with a game winning TD in the closing seconds, the most recent coming with 4 seconds on the clock. I need Spiller's speed at RB, but I'll be damned if he doesn't cough it up at least once a game.

So... I upgraded my DT last night to an 82 OVR and it did not move my team OVR up at all.

All of my starters are now 78+ OVR with almost all of them at least 80 OVR - do I have to have multiple 85+ guys to get the team to be an 85 OVR?

The law of averages would have me to believe something to that effect (even though I'm well aware that you don't need a team of all 99s to have a 99-rated team).

Anyone know if you can trade cards back and forth with another user? Thinking JB (or someone else here) might be able to help me out to get to 85 OVR and then I would return all the cards back plus a bonus as part of my fire sell for the rental.

Played a game this a.m. got up 21-0 after I just destroyed the guy who ran no huddle play action pass on EVERY play and went for it on every 4th down then he rage quit on me as I was about to go up 28-0 just before the half. I'm just bored with the mode and just want the last trophy, move on and take a shower to clean myself from this filth.

Continuing to just grind on this mode last night and this a.m. - now at 83 ovr after getting a "deal" on a Vince Wilfork card. Also pulled some really good cards from packs last night so I put up a bunch of stuff on auction in hopes I can upgrade either MLB or HB with an 85 ovr.

I have Spiller right now as well but I'm seriously considering saving up all my coins and going after McCoy. Every single one of my close games in Seasons play is due to Spiller fumbling the ball. It seems like if my opponent big hits him, it's coming out. I've given up more defensive touchdowns from fumble returns than I have to the offense.

He's only coughed the ball up 2-3 times for me (and all of them were near the sideline so the ball bounced out of bounds). But your right - I'm just looking for bang for the buck to get my 85 OVR. I cannot imagine how much the HBs costs with DTs being a "steal" for 17K.

Only starters count towards the overall as far as I know.

Looks like I'm going to have to start selling my #4-6 receivers then. I bought an 85 OVR LG and 85 OVR MLB this a.m. and my Team OVR did not budge stuck at 83. Spiller also cost me a game this a.m. with 2 fumbles lost so he's definitely next on the upgrade list. Problem is I spend basically my entire coin stash on the LG and MLB so I'm going to have to grind out 20-25 K for an upgrade to HB.

My MUT is a 70 overall, but when you lose you only get around 200 coins. How do ya'll get up to 85+ so fast? Is it that I just lose all the time?

winning certainly helps (especially against the CPU). however, playing other users you will usually at least get 1000 coins or a little less for a loss if you finish the game.

personally, i have gotten most of my coins from trading cards like a guy at the NYSE. If the guy isn't a starter when I open the pack I sell it. You can get nearly 1000 coins minimum for every player that can be traded in for a set. In fact, I recently sold like a 64 ovr cb for 900 coins b/c he was part of a set. Guys will look to "snipe" cards if they are only 1-2 cards away so you can make real money fast selling Stadiums and Coaches for 500 coins each.

Do some of the lower solo challenges. They are pretty easy & quick to beat and will typically net 1000+ coins per win. I only do 1-2 MUT games a day and am up to 21k in coins right now.

There was a bundle last year that came with a topper of a guaranteed Elite player, something we haven't seen yet. The best thing we've got is this one, which is an Elite player OR collectible, meaning 99 times out 100 you're getting the collectible.

The lack of guarantees in packs is understandable given the volume of people that play, but is also the reason I'm hesitant to invest much money (if any) in buying MUT packs. Spent $20 or so last year, got nothing, and quit playing.

I did receive the Prima guide that I was lucky to win here in the drawing. It says it comes with 6X pro packs, well there is a code inside the guide, I'm supposed to enter it at the prima website, once I did that it gave me a code to enter on the PS4, I did that and it tells me it's an invalid code. I emailed Prima, they sent me to EA, I've been on hold with EA for 55 mins. I filled out their online contact us form and EA called me back within 20 seconds, then transferred me to the Madden department...that's when the hold time started.....

The good news is, my PC will charge my cell phone via USB as it's running my battery down, being on the speaker phone.

The other nice thing is, the Prima guide breaks down the MUT concept and explains things nicely, that's good for a beginner like me. I'm lost on things like what to do with some of these cards...i.e. today there is a silver card it only gives me an option to "add to set" when I click this option it then wants me to associate it with a player and then gives me a whole list of players...so how/who do you pick? Any rhyme or reason?

Still on the Prima guide topic, it seems like a good deal, if I would have looked at one at the gamestop or if one was open I'd probably have bought it, it's $12, but you get $9 worth of MUT packs, so for $3 you get a bunch of good info, top plays for each team playbook Plus it basically has a lot of the tutorials (i.e. attacking coverages, like the game does, but it's in print so I can read it on the crapper or where ever away from the PS4). :up:

Well, like someone once told me, nothing is free in life...I'm glad I won the guide...I was on hold for 55 minutes, then they wanted me to take a picture of my gamestop receipt proving I purchased Madden 15, email it to them and then they would generate a new code...jumping through a bunch of hoops to use something I won in a drawing... I guess it's worth it.... :deadhorse:

The problem is I no longer have my Gamestop receipt, I do have a copy of the transaction on my AMEX account, the other problem is I reserved NHL, bought a 2nd PS4 controller so all that AMEX receipt says is General Merchandise for $107.40. WEEEEEEEEEEEE :deadhorse:

Yeah I played a TON, got lucky with a few packs and hit the auction block every day buying/selling. I just cannot stand playing randoms so I'm done with the mode. Thankfully, I got these trophies out of the way early before there is nothing but 99 OVRs on every team making it fairly easy/reasonable to beat your moron of an opponent.

No wonder it took you so long, your highest player is 86. If you would've gone for a few 88 or 89 rated players, you would've gotten it much quicker. I've barely spent any time in the mode (played about 20 head to head games and maybe 20 solo challenges...doubt I've even spent 15 hours) and I've already got my team up to an 82, but I'm going after Elite players in the Auction House - not even bothering with packs of buying Gold players.

Also, ratings don't matter in head to head. I beat numerous teams that were stacked with a lowly 70 some overall team during the first week. Time management and not turning the ball over = win regardless of team ratings.

Also, Desean Jackson is a beast in the slot.

If you are just looking for the trophies my best tip is to play "early" in the a.m. - when I get to the playoffs I stop playing then the next a.m. get up at like 6 a.m. CST and its usually nothing but kids (or really bad players on).

No wonder it took you so long, your highest player is 86. If you would've gone for a few 88 or 89 rated players, you would've gotten it much quicker. I've barely spent any time in the mode (played about 20 head to head games and maybe 20 solo challenges...doubt I've even spent 15 hours) and I've already got my team up to an 82, but I'm going after Elite players in the Auction House - not even bothering with packs of buying Gold players.

Also, ratings don't matter in head to head. I beat numerous teams that were stacked with a lowly 70 some overall team during the first week. Time management and not turning the ball over = win regardless of team ratings.

Also, Desean Jackson is a beast in the slot.

Yeah, you have to be very vigilant, but they do come around every now and then...have to be quick. I'm not on enough to find them, though.

I just finished upgrading my offensive line so I'm set up with Elites across the board. Defense has be worked on next - only elite I've got over there is Robert Quinn, who does pretty much nothing because my DTs and other DE suck.

I must be doing something wrong, I have a hard time figuring out HUT too.

On MUT I turned on the game today and it said I've unlocked Von Miller. It says to click "here" to open your reward. I do and it shows the Von Miller card. I click on him to compare him to my current LOLB, once I do this he's gone. I've looked through my binder, everywhere I cannot locate him. When I click the R3 it still says, click here to open your Von Miller reward, when I do it logs me into MUT and he's gone.

It did this a few weeks ago with a RB, can't remember who it was, but once I look/view the card it's gone.

Any tips? Am I simply doing something wrong?

MUT Ah is hell of fun right . Most if not all the prices on players and collectibles are going for hell of cheap right now. Because of the TG Fest. I snagged an elite DT for 25k that usually goes for 50 k .. So if have a ton of coins to spent on players go buy them now. Also Wr and Cbs are way cheap too.

I've been rolling with the 99 Vick for a few days and it's pretty fun. Upgraded to the 95 Mystery Chris Johnson today and I've only played 2 games with him, but it's pretty obvious that's going to be a nightmare combo for defenses. He's just a blur.

The rest of my team isn't the greatest. They're all elites and high 80s or low 90s, but I can definitely upgrade a lot. I've been thinking about selling off the core of my team (Vick goes for 1.2+ million all day, CJ2K for 120,000, and 99 Ditka goes for 250,000ish), which would net me around 1.5 million, which would allow me to upgrade my entire team.

I've gone up and down with QB's lately. I've used Marino and Steve young for a short while. Didn't like Young and his weak throwing power. He's good though. I just gotta more throwing power. Now I'm rolling with Rising Star Derek Carr 87 overall. My team is pretty solid finally.
