With fixtures being released for the EPL, it's time for a new thread. Chelsea open at Burnley and then host Leicester City. The first 2 matches are both against newly-promoted clubs.

Here is Chelsea's complete fixture schedule as well as dates for International breaks, the Capital One Cup, FA Cup, etc.

It looks like the deal to bring Felipe Luis to Stamford Bridge is finally getting close to being announced. Luis, arguably the best LB in the world last season, would be the third player to leave Atletico Madrid for West London this Summer.

The last couple of days have seen alot of articles, like this one, saying that the deal is done:

Good to see the Chelsea Legend back in Blue. Now, if they can just find someone dumb enough to take Torres' wages, all would be good.

Despite the constant, swirling rumors that Lukkaku will be sold, I'm not buying it until it happens. I'd guess they'll loan him out AGAIN, if they can't unload Torres. I hope not though. I'd LOVE to see Costa, Drogba and Lukkaku all in Chelsea Blue this season.

Haven't posted here in a bit. Lukaku was sold, of course, to Everton. I guess the rumors of him not wanting to have to compete for the job were true.

That said, the English season kicked off with the Community Shield over the weekend and ARSEnal drubbed City, 3-0. Hopefully, ARSEne Wenger doesn't think trophies will be piling up for him now.

The Premier League kicks off on Saturday and Chelsea opens on Monday at Turf Moor against newly-promoted Burnley.

Just a couple of hours to kickoff! Here's my fantasy lineup. I play at fantasyleague.com

This works much different from American Fantasy Football. Each player has a salary and you have a budget of £75.0M. You get 25 transfers a year and you can only have a maximum of 2 players from any Premier League club.

It is possible to play all 16 of your players in a weekend because you have to set your lineup for EVERY kickoff time. That part is the biggest difference from American Fantasy Football.

I was able to get 4 strikers into the budget by grabbing a couple guys who played great at the end of last season (Adebayor and Wickham) to go with Sturridge and Lukaku. Of course, that means I'm a bit weak in other areas.

I'm a bit concerned that the Saints won't be as good defensively as last year because of all the players they sold and that could cost me with both Boruc and Fonte.

Another big difference in this fantasy football is that there are multiple competitions throughout the season. You are drawn into a random group with 19 others and that is your Premier League. Your place in the Premier League table on December 21 determines which continental competition you go into and there is an FA Cup competition too.

This is my 3rd year playing on this site (have a couple of friends that play there too). Nice little diversion.

Chelsea are looking the part of a side that will score in spades this season, up 3-1 at the half. If you didn't see Schurrle's goal, do yourself a favor and find it. Fabregas made a brilliant one-touch pass to set it up.

Chelsea got a GREAT draw as they'll be in Group G with Schalke, Sporting and Maribor. Couldn't be happier with that draw and the Blues should cruz to the Round of 16.

For the other 3 Premier League clubs, not as lucky.

Liverpool is in Group B with the European Cup Holders, Real Madrid, FC Basel and Ludogorets. Basel can be a real bitch and they gave Chelsea fits last year (of course Chelsea bought their best player in January - Mohamed Salah).

Arsenal is in Group D (after barely surviving the playoffs) with Dortmund, Galatasaray and Anderlecht. Arsenal should get through but Galatasaray is no push over.

The "Group of Death" is Group E. Bayern Munich, Manchester City, CSKA Moscow and Roma. City should get out, but they tend to shit the bed in Europe so we'll see.

The other groups:

Group A
Atletico Madrid
Juventus
Olympiacos
Malmo

Group C
Benfica
Zenit
Bayer Leverkusen
Monaco

Group F
Barcelona
PSG
Ajax
Apoel

Group H
Porto
Shakhtar Donetsk
Athletic Bilbao

The UEFA Champions League gets its Group Stage underway on Tuesday. Chelsea plays Schalke on Wednesday. Chelsea got a very favorable draw and should win the group fairly easily.

I'm really happy with what the Blues have done so far in the Premier League. They are the only club with maximum points (4-0-0) and they have scored 15 goals. Diego Costa has 7, it has been a brilliant start to his EPL career.

They have a big game at Etihad next weekend. A win over City could put Chelsea 8 points clear of the title holders.

It is really terrible to see Fulham dropping so quickly. They were decent a couple of years ago when they still had Clint Dempsey.

Last season, they were relegated to the Football Championship and this year they have taken just 1 point of a possible 24 in their first 8 league matches. That dreadful start has them sitting bottom of the league. Could be League One next season.

Haven't payed in a little while.

Last Saturday we had a company outing at a local theatre to watch Chelsea win 3-0 over Villa. It was cool seeing the Blues on the big screen but I'm not sure if I'll do it again or not.

Midweek, Chelsea earned just the second win all time by an English club in Lisbon with their 1-0 victory over Sporting CP in the Champions League.

Today, Chelsea became the last remaining unbeaten team in the Premier League, beating ARSEnal 2-0. Additionally, Jose Mourinho remained unbeaten (7-5-0) against the "Specialist in Failure" ARSEne Wenger. It will be interesting to see if Wenger Wanger gets any shit from the FA for shoving Mourinho in the first half.

Arsenal actually got out of their group, finishing second.

Tomorrow, Chelsea and Manchester City will play their final group stage matches. Chelsea have already won their group and are through to the Round of 16.

City are in a precarious spot, being one of three clubs with 5 points in the group. One will advance, one will join the Europa League Round of 32 and one will be booted from European competitions. Manchester City vs Barcelona: Barcelona eliminated City in the Round of 16 last year.

Bayer Leverkusen 04 vs Atletico Madrid: Drew twice in the 2010-11 Europa League Group Stage.

Juventus vs Borussia Dortmund: Juventus beat Dortmund in the 1993 UEFA Cup Final, Dortmund beat Juventus in the 1997 UEFA Champions League Final.

FC Schalke 04 vs Real Madrid: Real Madrid eliminated Schalke in last year's Round of 16.

FC Shakhtar Donetsk vs Bayer Munich: The Ukrainians and the Germans have never played each other.

Chelsea and Tottenham play at 10 AM Central on BeIn Sports in the Capital One Cup Final from Wembley Stadium.

Chelsea were 5-3 losers at White Hart Lane on New Year's Day and they struggle tremendously when Nemanja Matic is out of the lineup since he joined the club in January 2014. I hope to see Ramires take Matic's spot in the midfield, rather than Mikel. I have little faith in Mikel.

It will be a chance for the current league leaders to lift a trophy for the first time since winning the UEFA Europa League in May 2013. At that time the Blues, though for just over a week, became the first ever current holders of both major European trophies (Champions League and Europa League). It would also be manager Jose Mourinho's first silverware since returning to Stamford Bridge last season.

On a side note, my buddy who has the badass bar in his house (you may remember the pictures I posted a few years ago) is in London to watch the match. Being that it is currently 11:22 AM over there, I'm sure he is flying high at some pub. :)

Fingernail biting time at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea and PSG are headed to Extra Time in their UCL Round of 16 tie.

Aggregate is 2-2, road goals are 1-1.

This game has been horribly officiated. A sending off for PSG that was a poor decision, another potential PSG sending off that was missed, a penalty that wasn't called against PSG, a potential Chelsea sending off that was not seen.

Here we go!

C'mon you Blues!

Cesc Fabregas scored the match winner at Loftus Road in the 88th to lift Chelsea to a 1-0 win over QPR today. Chelsea maintains their 7 point lead (with a game in hand) over Arsenal atop the league table, following the Gunners 1-0 win at Burnley yesterday.

Biggest match of the season tomorrow between Chelsea and Arsenal. A Chelsea win means the Blues can win the title on Wednesday against Leicester.

An Arsenal win will prolong what should be the inevitable Chelsea title.

I fully expect Jose Mourinho to park the bus and play on the counter tomorrow in search of a 1-0 result. A draw is still a very good result for his side.

2014-15 PFA Team of the Year

GK David De Gea (Manchester United)
LB Ryan Bertrand (Southampton)
CB John Terry (Chelsea)
CB Gary Cahill (Chelsea)
RB Branislav Ivanovic (Chelsea)
MF Nemanja Matic (Chelsea)
MF Eden Hazard (Chelsea)
MF Alexis Sanchez (Arsenal)
MF Philippe Coutinho (Liverpool)
F Harry Kane (Tottenham)
F Diego Costa (Chelsea)

Surprising to see a team of the year with no players from the defending champions. Sergio Aguero, I think, was caught in a popularity contest with Kane.

Chelsea has 6 of the 11 and strong arguments could be made for 3 more (Courtois, Azpilicueta and Fabregas).

Less than half an hour to kickoff at Stamford Bridge. A win today would secure a now-inevitable Premier League title for the Blues. It will be their first in 5 years.

It would be shocking of they lost today, Jose Mourinho does not lose Premier League matches at the Bridge. But, if they draw they will still clinch with an Arsenal loss or draw tomorrow.

The thing is Blatter is providing uniforms and stadiums for poor countries and essentially buying their votes.

Trinidad's women's team was in Houston a few weeks back trying to qualify for the World Cup and they didn't have money for a hotel. While FIFA sits on piles of cash, they were asking the public here for hotel money.

Despite that, I'm sure they voted for Blatter. It's that fucked up. :smh:

The thing that Blatter had going is that the majority of the voting nations (180 or so of 200 some) are third world countries. He buys them kits or builds grounds and they will vote for him forever. And, of course, their votes count the same as the big nations votes do.
