“These things happen in the box,” Suarez was quoted as telling Uruguayan media.

“We were in contact, chest against shoulder, and I got a knock to the eye.”

What a fucking douche.

Yeah, I saw that comment from the coach. One reporter "has it out for his player and nothing more" and the media as a whole apparently has some agenda against his team and players. The coach is as much of a fucking douche as Saurez is.

I certainly would have preferred to see England win today than to see Suarez win.

The Chelsea player was Ivanovich and it was 2 seasons ago. Suarez also bit a player when he was playing for Ajax. He's just a dickbag. The racism charges and refusing to shake Evra's hand in his first match back from suspension don't really irritate me much. When you put it all together, he is an ass.

SmoothPancakes

Well, I know one thing for sure, if they don't ban his ass for the rest of this World Cup, I will have absolutely no problem whatsoever rooting against Uruguay every single match they remain in the tournament from here on out.

Agreed.

Just saw that the minimum suspension, if FIFA finds him guilty of assault, would be 2 matches. Hopefully, it's much more. If not, 2 matches should be enough to see them out. Columbia will be no easy task even with Suarez.

How many times exactly do you bite people before you relies you may have a problem? Seriously, give this guy a 10+ game suspension from next game on.

Thing is, when he played for Ajax in 2010 he got 7 games for biting. Lesson learned? No. In 2013 he got 10 games at Liverpool for biting. Still, he has not learned. Now he does it at the World Cup. Seriously? What. The. Fuck?

I saw that earlier tonight. 175/1 odds! Those are really good odds considering the bet covered a minimum of 3 matches. Your odds, statistically, must be better than 1 in 40 (haven't looked up how many matches he's played in the last 5 years) that he would bite someone in a 3-match span.

Well, one thing is absolutely 100% clear, Germany is definitely the faster team. Thankfully the US did enough to keep it even. And if the Ghana-Portugal score holds (Por 1-0), the US would have to lose by 5 goals to Germany to not advance.

I have no clue what the hell is going on. Bdoughty said something in the past about not being able to work due to disability. Between that knowledge and my extremely sadistic and twisted sense of humor, I found steeler's post on the previous page (or whichever page it actually was) quite funny. But I have no clue what the remark about the leg is all about. First time Bdoughty has ever said something about his leg (or any leg for that matter) on here.

I forget which match it was, but there was one I was watching and one team had three players all go down within a few seconds of each other and proceed to lay there playing dead trying to draw a foul.

Meanwhile the other team has possession of the ball and it essentially became 11 on 8 because those three dumbasses just wanted to lay there and roll around. As soon as play stopped for either a whistle or the ball going out, they get right up and start running all around again.

I would have been pissed of my team had given up a goal because three dumbasses wanted to play dead to try and draw a foul.

No idea why Lukaku was not in the Belgian side from the outset. He is a physical freak at the number 9. I'll be rooting for Belgium going forward.

It's a shame for Tim Howard, he deserved much better tonight. Howard is the reason the US is competitive on the world stage and he was fantastic in Brazil.

As for the US, this wasn't a bad showing at the World Cup. Reaching the round of 16 was no easy task from the draw they were dealt in December. It would have been overachieving, in my opinion, to reach the quarters.

Hopefully Julian Green develops into the kind of special player that the US has always lacked.

Howard was unbelievable and kept the game in reach but it was just too much to overcome. Honestly, if we have an "average" World Cup keeper we probably lose 4 or 5 -0. We just don't have world class field players anywhere on the field and I'm not sure we ever will.

I think Germany is the best team but we shall see.

I think so too. But, it's one match and you know how that can go.

Neymar is out of the rest of the World Cup after suffering a fractured vertebrae. With Thiago Silva suspended, things are going to be that much more difficult got Brazil.

Hoping to see Belgium with a big victory over Argentina tomorrow, though it will be tough. They have the power but they need to put the ball into the net as they won't get as many chances as they did versus the USA. Game two I think the Dutch should roll Costa Rica.

They probably will, but I would love to see Costa Rica pull off another win and keep this incredible run going.

I think we're looking at a Germany-Argentina Final. I'm good with that, if that's what it is.

IF Costa Rica is a cat it has lost 8.999999999999999 of its lives. They basically started playing for the shoot out 15 mins into the 2nd half. That is WAY too early.

CLW

Well this last 120 mins is exactly why soccer will NEVER catch on in the US. It's the only sport I know where one team can totally dominate another in every facet of the game and still possibly lose.

The inevitable Dutch choke is yet to happen.

What a match! Hell of a run by Costa Rica this year and the Netherlands unexpected run continues. Good stuff.

30 minutes to kickoff in the first semifinal. The German Football Machine against a shorthanded Brazilian side. I fully expect Germany to secure their place in the final today. However, even without Neymar and Thiago Silva, Brazil has enough quality to have a chance (hell, some "experts" are still picking Brazil).

Germany will still have to play well to get through the hosts.

I was hoping that Willian would be in the Starting XI for Brazil today, with injury and suspension affecting their selection.

You know that the US manager is German, right?

Maybe Brazil should have played "US-style". The US only lost 1-0 to the Germans and had a chance right to the end.

Yeah. He does okay with it, hopefully he learns the game better over the next 4 years. It's been a bit of a controversy that FOX is going to use him.

Germany deserved the W and they got it. Argentina played well in the back but relying solely on one player on offense just isn't a recipe for a champion. Germany shares the ball so well and they have so..... many great players any of them could step up and burn you.
