Win Madden NFL 11 Contest #2

Hey fellas, going to give away one of the copies of a brand new and sealed Madden NFL 11 for the PS3. This is one of the copies that I won on GameTrailers TV that aired on Spike Monday night on Madden Eve.

I am currently in week 12 or 13 in my offline franchise with the Chicago Bears; therefore, the regular season is close to being wrapped up. The contest will be to guess the total number of points I scored in the regular season without going over. Later tonight, I will give you a starting point by posting my results of the first three weeks (which I will just amend to this first post). The key here is on weeks 1-8, I was playing on Pro difficulty, and then jumped it up to all-pro.

If everyone guesses over, then the closest to the actual total will win. I will aim to wrap up the season by the end of the weekend. One entry per person, and entries will close Sunday night at 9PM central.

Once someone posts their guess, that number cannot be used by anyone else. Edited posts will NOT be accepted, meaning if you edit your post, your entry is completely invalid.

When I was trying to decide the first time, I kept flipping between two numbers constantly, depending on whether I thought you could keep up the points pace from the first three games or if you would have a drop off in points. However, seeing as you are playing with the Bears, while they have some good players, I don't think they are going to be threatening the record for most points in a season, even with your stick skills helping them.

Yeah, lol. Never really been able to get into Madden (not nearly as big an NFL fan as I am college), and with my schedule, I've having a hard enough time making time to play NCAA. Figured I'd let somebody who would actually use Madden win it. Thanks for your concern though. :)

An excellent guess in my personal opinion. Mainly because that was the exact number I was debating between it and 475 both when I first posted my original guess and when I had the option to change my guess. ;)

Haha, I did the same. That was what had me flip-flopping between 475 and 525, was the math from those first three games. Basically, with each individual guess, it's pretty much going to come down to what we each think in terms of whether he was able to stay on that points pace he was on in those first 3 games, or if those numbers quickly dropped in future games and made him drop off the pace, and in turn, how much we think he dropped off the pace.

Me personally, I decided to play it safe and went with the lower of the two numbers that I was debating, simply for the fact of trying to avoid going over. If I get beat by someone with a higher number than me, that's fine, as long as I didn't cause myself to guess too high and go over with my guess.

Congrats to STEELERFAN! For winning this contest with a guess of 480. The total I scored in the regular season was 498. Kingpin was very close, but went over. Steelerfan can thank a snowy week 17 in Lambeau where the game wouldn't let me do anything. I guess it was hypothetically resting everyone with a 5th seed already locked up in the playoffs.
